I think rain (coming from my country and cultural view) is one of the most underappreciated forms of weather. I know SO many people that flat out refuse to walk or cycle in rain. I love it, the quiet streets, the gentle sound, the fresh smell. It's almost spiritual in that it cleanses and rejuvenates. At night it reaches a new high too, nothing more beautiful then wet roads and the lights of the city reflecting everywhere. Pure magic!
These are my favorite type of walks, rainy, peaceful, very relaxing and visually engaging. Thank you so much Rambalac for always being ready to go out in the rain and snow for all of us to enjoy the beauty of Japan.

After the first few trips to Japan back in 2009-2014 where I basically copied all the destinations from travel guides, since then I always sought out off the beaten paths with the help of Google Map to make sure I'd somehow still find my way back to the nearest train station in the event I ended up in the middle of nowhere with no one in sight. This is why I enjoyed this video very much. Thank you and I look forward to when I can travel freely to Japan without joining an organized tour. Hopefully soon!

I'm on my bed ; stuck in a C-Pac mask while my fan smothers me in cooled air. And it's due to the cold air sweeping my skin . and putting a taste-of-sorts in my mouth that I have fully connected with the memory of ice-tipped rain drops. It's another day in the rain for R, and I couldn't be more biting-at-the-bit. I use his work to punch me where it really hurts. And, so, I struggle on with the struggle of trying to learn Japanese. And I keep saving, too. And I read the books as well as watch the latest new bulletins focussing on modern Japan. I read the maps of the country and the railway networks like they were my favourite children's bedtime stories. And I have compromised. I use stretch bands to strengthen my legs so that I can - after a fashion - walk. I have a walker in mind ( a damned expensive one as it happens! ) to make my year long trek throughout Japan possible. Sooooo...I continue to watch R's videos like a hawk! I'm memorising landmarks and peculiar , unique buildings. Remembering village and road names , too. R is solely responsible for bringing me back from wanting to be dead. R is the reason why today feels like a good day. And how-the-hell does one thank him for this?! That said, thank you R.

TO SHARE SOME INFORMATION ONLY - Chofu City in Tokyo's far west is an unremarkable city that possesses a few remarkably beautiful spots that can make the trip out there worthwhile, in particular its broad, kempt, variegated Jindai Botanical Garden. One sightseeing highlight of Tenjin-dori Street is its streetside figurines from the classic GeGeGe no Kitaro manga series, placed at intervals. Their creator, Shigeru Mura (1922-2015), lived most of his life in Chofu City. Shingi-Shingon (Reformed Shingon) Buddhist temple, on your right, was created by the amalgamation of three temples in 1915. Taishoji is distinguished mainly by its charming gate.
