I FREAKED when I heard this play in Mockingjay because it was my favourite soundtrack in the first movie. SO BEAUTIFUL, I can't express it with words haha.
I had to look up what this track was when I finished the movie. I was honestly mind blown with what James Newton Howard did with the score. This is a truly beautiful piece of music. There are three subtle changes throughout the song. When each change happens, Katniss feels differently about the situation e.g the beginning of the song is when she is in pain, and the end is when she kicks her head back in relief of how much the ointment worked for her burns. Watch the movie for yourself and listen carefully. It’s some of the most mind blowing pieces of synchronization I’ve ever seen. That’s one of the many reasons Jennifer Lawrence stole the role of Katniss. I feel like both Jennifer and James knew exactly what feeling they needed to go for in a certain scene. Music is one of the most beautiful things, and this is the best example I can give. My personal favorite.
He is truly the best. A remarkable genius. Especially considering he was brought in as a last minute replacement and composed the entire score in only 2 weeks.
Fantastic, marvellous , congratulations . The cannon at 1:50 sounds incredible with headphones . Long live Katniss the great . Long live Jennifer Lawrence
I love when songs have deep bass notes added in the background that come out for headphones users. Buzzcut Season by Lorde has the same kind of sound that moves from ear to ear. It really brings all dimensions of the music out.
I think it's amazing how James Newton Howard managed to keep some of the first to movies in to Mockingjay. Especially Rue's farewell for Peeta's hijacking. I love it apposed to having four different composers for all fire different movies.
That's one of the most amazing and epic soundtrack I've ever heard...It's a bit like it mentions all those things I haven't been able to say out loud...
I fell in love with "Healing Katniss" the very first time I saw "Mockingjay Part 1" and it literally haunted me until I was watching the film for probably the 100th time and I just couldn't take it anymore. I paused the movie, Googled "song playing with Katniss and Gale by the river in Mockingjay Part 1" and there it was. I instantly added it to my playlist of instrumentals and listen to it easily two or three times a day. It just so hauntingly beautiful!
So sad that it was 7 years ago this movie came out. I hate how it couldn't have lasted longer like the Harry Potter movies ad I'm also sad that Harry Potter is over. But he shall never be forgotten like Katniss Everdeen
If you haven't heard Katniss Afoot yet, I think it's an excellent track any James Newton Howard fan should listen to. It's not in the movies but it is included on the first Hunger Games score.
I know she really did! The creators of The Hunger Games (especially Gary Ross) did such an amazing job. They couldn't have done a magnificent job without the Actors and Actresses! Am lovin' the soundtrack!
1:49 just awesome. I don't why i didn't notice this part of the score until the umpteenth time i watched the movie, and while studying for a test at that (i had it playing on my laptop, and was mostly just listening to it). then right in the middle of taking notes i HEARD it, and was like, "this is PRETTY..."
Last part especially oh my... so beautiful! JNH is n always been my favourite... Who's got my taste? Listen to 'The Interpreter', 'The Village', 'Blood Diamond' can u tell why ive been following this amazing composer?
when i watched the movie i was like ong this is a really good song at the accoutsitc part is when i was like omg youtube! i ran upstairs and played it literly 6 times! its my fav song JAMES NEWTON HOWARD is an amazing composer and incrediable! i luv the accoutstics the best! my fav part is at 2:10 seconds in the song i luv that weird gong sound the accoutstics get louader and better at my fav part at 2:10 seconds u listen to 2:10 seconds into the song and listen to my fav part!
Is it just me or does that acoustic part with the guitar sound very familiar? WHERE IS THAT SONG FROM!!!!! not from this movie but its from a real song!
1:35 I love this part and the part of the movie when Katniss and Gale at the river the music starts playing.

Which scene was it played in the first one?
@@banderas2000 When Katniss healed her burn wound on the tree using the balm delivered by Haymitch.
I've been searching for this song for so long!! My life is complete!

2:11 THAT GLORIOUS MOMENT!!!!!
Most beautiful part in a beautiful song, imho.

He composed the entire score in two weeks?!?
This is ecstasy to my ears.
This is just gorgeous, and healing at the same time. Shining dew drops and swells to perfection.

this is so beautiful, I could listen to it forever and ever and ever
all dislikes come from the capitol
all dislikes have recently been censored by Paylor
I like how you can feel her relief during the last minute of the song
definitely one of the better tracks in the score and fits the movie perfectly.
this is the best song of the entire score
I need a playlist of songs like this
That's one of the most amazing and epic soundtrack I've ever heard...It's a bit like it mentions all those things I haven't been able to say out loud...
WOW!!! MAGNIFICENT MUSIC!!!

Omg, that guitar change of tone at 1:53 😭😭😭😭
This soundtrack made tears appear in my eyes.
Can make me think like another person, and feel like I normally don't.
C'est musique, du début jusqu'à 01:00 est juste magnifique, je ne m'en lasse pas.
Best song in the whole film series.

2022 - leave your mark if you think this piece of music is amazing….
Royally and epically gorgeous! A perfect sidekick to a touching and traumatic tale!
I don't know why but this is the only soundtrack that I loved through out the whole movie.
If you haven't heard Katniss Afoot yet, I think it's an excellent track any James Newton Howard fan should listen to. It's not in the movies but it is included on the first Hunger Games score.
Favourite track from my favourite movie ever
2018 i love this track

I can as well! It makes the feeling so real! It's hard to believe that it's only a movie and not real life with this music and this composer!
Incredible piece
Soooo beautiful
When she is on the tree, and the career pack is waiting for her to come down, then Haymitch sends the burn medicine in a parachute.
I think I'm for 50% of the views
This song man . . .
from 1:08 please play it in my funeral.
Music itself has theraputic effects.
Yeah, I also really loved the shot of Haymitch in this scene. I kinda like that they made him more 'sympathetic' here and there in the movie. :-)
"Stay with me"
"Always"
so serene
I cried through out almost the whole movie lol.
Oh my god. Did he? Is sounds like it was months of work... It's simply amazing, I couldn't even tell. He's a genius.
Sadness.. It's after Katniss had gotten burned badly by that fireball incident stuff the Gamemakers did...
The boy on fire~
Liked how Peeta was watching her when she was on the tree while this was playing
I'm guessing Cato disliked her getting healed

Amazing.
So..beautiful :D
this makes me smile - *claps*
Indeed he did.
Anyway, I think that THG ‘s could be called The Katniss Chronicles.❤️❤️
The ending reminds me of a piece called Heart of reiki
Thanks so much for your answer! ^_^
I like this feeling somehow when gale asked katniss to hunt and then they found river
thanks
This is sooooooo pretty :)
Heaven!
If THG was “real”, instead of “not real”, and Panem was real, then Katniss Everdeen would be called The Mother of Her Country.
A similar song to this one is used in one of the Mockingjay movies.
Does anyone know what song?
I needs it!
It's the same song
Last part especially oh my... so beautiful! JNH is n always been my favourite... Who's got my taste? Listen to 'The Interpreter', 'The Village', 'Blood Diamond' can u tell why ive been following this amazing composer?
