    Thank you I recently bought the tu8500 although I really love and miss the LG magic remote!! I think the better contrast and black uniformity was a trade off since I watch/play content in a dark room - I wish Samsung would make their internet browser a lot easier to navigate tho!!

      Hi Karrar A,
      You can add a wireless keyboard to navigate in a more convenient way. There are quite a few tiny keyboards with mouse included. In any case, it's true that the Magic Remote works really well and comes in handy, and Samsung used to have a remote with pointer function, but sadly not anymore.

      Is it really better than the LG UN81? I see no problem with contrast, the HDR is fantastic and giving up the magic remote was a bad choice as it is brilliant... Using a non magic remote feels terrible in comparison.

    • @TVHiFiProinEnglish
      @TVHiFiProinEnglish  3 года назад +2

      Hi Nick,
      In 43 inches both share the same type of IPS panel, and in 50 both are VA so the viewing angle is very similar. On the contrary, in 55 and above, as the LG has an IPS panel and the Samsung a VA panel, the UN8100 has better viewing angles in those sizes.
      In your case with an IPS panel you'll be able to watch TV much better with less lost in color saturation as well as contrast.

    Hello.
    Which one is best for gaming & watching movies in dark room and low light room with crisp quality. Is the Samsung TU8505 or LG UN7340PVC?
    And which one of those has more backlight bleeding?
    And which one is smooth and faster in software and browsing and gaming fps?
    And which one is good for watching movies with subtitles in brighter scene in movie?

    • @TVHiFiProinEnglish
      @TVHiFiProinEnglish  3 года назад

      The Samsung TU8505 is better in dark rooms and has less light leakage in comparison with the LG and achieves also more sharpness.
      However, if you watch the TV in a dark room, you'll probably have backlight bleeding no matter what you choose, although is less noticeable in the Samsung.
      Regarding to gaming both are quite good with an input lag around 10 ms, although neither of them supports HDMI 2.1, so you can't play in 4K at 120 Hz.

    What is grey uniformity or dirty screen effect like on the Samsung? It's pretty bad on the Samsung TU8000 (videos about it on you tube). I've had to return a Sony and LG in the past because of this issue. I would have thought this would have been sorted out by now but it would seem not.

    • @TVHiFiProinEnglish
      @TVHiFiProinEnglish  3 года назад +1

      It depends on the unit and the type of panel, but the grey uniformity is not perfect and the edges are a little bit darker and there's some light leakage. In 43" I think is worse because of the IPS panel. In the 50" and above should be a little bit better.
      In the LG was worse at least in 43".

      Hola Jhon,
      Es "relativamente" habitual de que veas alguna fuga de luz al verlos a oscuras. Esto ocurre sobre todo en los televisores como este, que utilizan retroiluminación Edge LED, donde los LED's sólo están en la parte de abajo.
      Lo único que te puedo sugerir, es que intentes evitar verlo totalmente a oscuras y si tienes alguna lámpara regulable la enciendas aunque sea un mínimo para que la sigas viendo en un ambiente oscuro, pero al haber ya algo de luz se disimulan estos problemas.
      Otra opción es que la cambies por otra unidad, pero te puede ocurrir lo mismo o incluso que esté peor.

    • @TVHiFiProinEnglish
      @TVHiFiProinEnglish  3 года назад +1

      I haven't test it with subtitles, but it may be affected by the Auto Dimming system that the Samsung TV's have.
      When there's a dark scene with very few bright points or zones, the TV lowers the brightness automatically, so you'll maybe can notice that problem in a very dark scene and subtitles.
      In brighter scenes you shouldn't notice the change in brightness.
      Anyway, if it bothered you in the UN8000, with this model you'll have the same issue.

    • @TVHiFiProinEnglish
      @TVHiFiProinEnglish  3 года назад

      Hi Kemal,
      I'm sorry to hear that, but If you want to avoid this problem, I'm afraid you only have two options.
      The first one, is trying to avoid watching the TV in a completely dark room. I recommend you watching with at least a small spot of light, or buying a set of led lights that you can put it behind the TV, similar to the Ambilight function of Philips TV's. This way, you won't notice this problema as much as in a completely dark room.
      The other option, is buying a Full Array Local Dimming TV instead of a Edge LED TV. Of course is more expensive, but the backlight uses LED's behind the TV instead of only below the screen. And with this option, you can even have still some light leakage, but of course it'll be less noticeable.
      The only way to solve it for sure, it's buying an OLED TV, but as you may know, OLED TV's are quite expensive.
      I know it's very sad that this happen nowadays, but it is what it is.
      You can also try, returning the TU8500 and get the Samsung Q60T, that at least in our review in 43 inches the uniformity was much better than in the TU8500.
      Regards

    If you sit in front most of the time and you will watch in a dark room too Samsung is the better choice. You will have deep blacks and a much better contrast. On the other hand the picture will lose quality if you watch by side and samsung is not perfect for a very bright room. LG is better if you need a TV for more people sitting around the TV. BUT the blacklevels are very very bad and horrible in a dark room. It is more like grey. 75 inch model have direct led and it is good to see all shadow details and for a brighter room.

      Can't speak to the LG (or for the channel!), but I'm in the market for a new TV for the Xbox Series X, and everything I'm reading about the Samsung TU8500 is pulling me towards that, especially if you're a night gamer like me. The 55" and above versions have Game Enhancement mode, which supposedly drops the refresh rate to 6.8ms (bring on the FPSs), and I'm surprised to hear in the this vid that the Samsung is only 60Hz, cos the 55" I'm looking at is 100/120Hz.....might be a size thing again though (not in the 40/43" but in bigger versions).....I had a 50" LG recently though, but not the one in this video, and tbh honest it was fine for gaming, some issues with the screen and light bleed but for the price it was a cracking tv set. So good I gave it a loan to my parents while I was away on work....never got it back off them :)

      Betwwen these 2 go for Samsung TU8500. Both TV's have average HDR performance, however the samsung tv benefits from better blacks (contrast ratio) and black uniformity. For gaming they both have low input lag, so you are fine with both. BUT if you can find the RU8000 (2019 model) go for that model. Because you will have better HDR peak brightness, black uniformity, and VRR for gaming (not for 49'' and 43'' models)!
