I purchased an express around February, love the gun and very accurate, only complaint, it's been back to the importers twice, with seal issues, it was 6 weeks the first time, 3 weeks up to press this time, lovely gun, but suffers build quality
Had Remington Model 11 shotgun, beautiful bit of kit that I eventually sold to get a Hatsan auto. Bought the Remmy Express in .177 with my Hawke scope but couldn't hit a barn door at 20 yards. Took it back to Skipton they discovered it had a bent barrel, further the whole shipment (to Skipton at least) had bent barrels, shame as I liked the gun, got a BSA Meteor instead and married up my Hawke scope then the pigeons began to fall again. Still hanker after a Remington Express. Nice video chum.
Great review and a great little rifle. Its only the snobs that will loose out. I have BSA and Weihrauch rifles as well as SMK rifle and pistol. I get just as much enjoyment out of the cheaper guns in my collection
Agreed. My favourite rifle is my Pro Sport, but I've got a SMK XS19 which I absolutely love, especially after a few tweaks and a little love. I get as much fun out of that as I do my Prosport and my R10. It's not about the money, it's about the fun factor!
I’ve just bought the compact version in 22 today to get the young lad into shooting and I wanted something that had a auto safety to get him into the habit of using the safety. I had in mind a 22 bsa supersport which I have but it’s going to be too big for him at this early stage and at £132 new this Remington will do just the job a nice little stock and all in all I think a good little rifle to set him up with. I can’t wait to see his face when he gets it on his birthday.
very cool look forward to these air guns got me in to real cartridge and possibly black powder guns but sadly remington went bankrupt they took panther arms down and bushmaster too love my dpms ar15 a2
Awesome review man, I was almost up sold to a Weihrauch HW99s with a Hawke Fastmount 3-9-40 so 240 + 60 £300. I think I will go with the Express and put the Hawk 3-9-50 scope on it so £250 ish. After seeing your grouping with the better site anyway. Feedback would be great, but I understand if I don't get a response. Thanks again for the great video.
Thanks for video. One think worth to mention. Testing accuracy of weapon using free hand standing position is slightly missing the point as you are testing your skills not rifle's capability. Even army snipers use standing position in rare exceptional circumstances.
I nearly bought one of these, but it didn't have the sporting stock and seemed a little heavy to me. Ended up buying a Hatsan 900x which I have been pleased with considering its budget price.
My friend had two of them both in.22 good by budget gun. Chonry was getting about 10.5 / 11.15 fb very nice for the price. Thanks for other great video.
looking at the grouping pastern i would say it would benefit from a light crown clean-up i had a new stoeger x20 which was vastly improved with just a very light crown clean-up a brass bar with an approx 45 degree taper and some fine grinding paste with 1 min in each direction in the drill. . the stoeger was crowned from factory i cannot comment on the Remington but they are both Chinese. keep the vids coming bud ;o)
Bought a new one on release in .177, full break in and chronograph reading was averaging over 14 ft/lbs, had to modify immediately, now shoots sub 12 mm groups at 30 yards indoor benchrested, with a much more recoil friendly 10.8 ft/lbs, don't take the manufacturer specs out of the box CHRONO IT...
Just read your comment. I bought one in 177 2yrs ago, it too was averaging 14.4lbs on chrono, and 915fps with 8.44gr. I new it was hot after first shot., was a lot harder to cock than my other sub 12,s too.
Hey mate can you help? I have this air rifle but the safety won’t release, I’ve tried opening it up I turned a tiny screw and something flew out 😢 it’s brand new but I bought it two years ago and just took it out the bag
Thanks I’m looking at Remingtons for a beater gun, interesting they have down tuned it and labeled it as such. Any opinions as to how they did it other than a weaker spring. Very thorough review
Thing is m8 anybody with a once of commonsense would know to treat a air rifle with respect. HOWEVER we live in a world wear people think its a good idea to put gorilla glue in your hair 🤣🤣🤣
Worst airgun I ever got. Got the 500fps .177 nitro piston model. They called this "Remington" because the stock is a copy of an existing remington firearm but that's all there is about it. If Remington really knew what chinese crap they where about to stamp their brand on, they wouldn't have done it. Exept for with ONE specific pellet : crosman hollowpoint, it just shoots EVERYTHING ELSE all over the place. It shooted so low fps when I bought it (so not even nearing as advertised) that I couldn't even pierce a pepsi can at 7 yards. I had to buy the stronger nitro piston thinking it would solve a couple of problems. Now I can pierce cans Yay! (When I hit them...) You have to oil the air chamber every 30 shots or else it gets even worst for accuracy and to experience significant drops in speed. The front sight (that you can't dismantle of course) had been glued sideways so I had to cut it off and not wanting to spend another dollar on this crap, now it's permanently scoped with the cheapest scope I found collecting dust in my basement. I will gladly pay anyone's gas and lunch to come and take it from me. What a waste !
@@DoktrDub In every bad situation there's a little good. That is the gun that made me tired of sprigners and wanting to up my game. Now I hold a couple of pcp rifles and some precision handguns like the chaser and 2240. Really happy about those.
Oil in the chamber ... if you mean thru transfer port, you're making it diesel. If you can change the ram you have the skills to work on it. You can check breach seal (google tissue test), change a piston seal, recrown or lap the barrel. I'm just saying the ram was likely your biggest expense if you wanted to see it turned into a good shooter.
@@stevekurzban9352 I got a whole collection of pellets guns and pistols and got into pcp. I don't shoot break barrels anymore but kept only two of them just in case (you never know). Indeed you're right, I modified almost all my guns but this one remington was a lemon, just not worth the time.
Superb vid .. all you'd ever want to know about the Remington express .. same as ALL vids , superbly narrated and explained ..

It was very good shooting but yes, to see the gun's accuracy I was waiting to see what you could achieve from a rest.

Other than the spring, a smaller transfer port size would decrease it.
The ball in the clocking lock any faults with it I've heard there not very good thanks jrh
shared ... I have a Hatstand .25 Cal for hunting
Nice video jm interess this rifle
Did you use the supplied mounts that came with the nikko? I read somewhere that the nikko supplied mounts are too low for use on the remmy ex?
Ime thinking of getting this rifle as I do a lot of hunting in your opinion would it kill a rabbit at 40 yards
Where can I buy this?
I 'm very great with my daisypawerline 880 pump action my gamo air rifle Crosman air rifle
What scope would you recommend to upgrade this rifle with?
I have a feeling that I've read this is available in .25 too.
Hola saludos soy de chile podria aser un video del mismo rifle pero nitro piston
I've had mine for 6 years and I know its Chinese made but its amazingly accurate. Dropped a tree rat at 75 yards.
I'm struggling to believe this
Can you own this without a gun licence?
Depends on your local laws
