Secret spots are secret spots. I've fished many around here that had 5-6 pounders non stop. The best ones filled with sludge now but 30 bass in 3 hours was fun. RIP Matilija lake.

These Bass appear thin bodied and possibly stunted.Perhaps introduce forage or Bluegill.
I dunno much about trout fishing, but it seems like you could get into a lot of trouble fishing them or other small fish in creeks and ponds around Ventura. I think it’s because of the droughts the fish are super endangered and under a lot of stress.

@@johnmarshall7917 That was me the first few times too. Just get there early like as soon as they open. Dropshot a Roboworm with a short leader.(About the length of the worm). Renting a boat helps too.

That's not Ventura. Has to be one of the surrounding cities most likely ojai, thousand oaks, Newbury park, or maybe even filmore.
