I think its one of the best movies ever made. And one of the truest. The entire movie is a metaphor. Ego/success/wealth/power/lust over truth and love. And having Pacino as the Devil and Keanu as his son. Pure gold! I remember seeing it in the cinema with my mate and being blown away
Please... if J. Phoenix got an oscar for the role he played in The Joker then Al Pacino deserves 2 of them for his role in Devil’s advocate. For the ’Eddie Barzum’ monologue itself he should get an oscar.
As long as people watch it and understand its narrative - it's all that matters. Shiny phallic trophies are not that important when we speak about a Giants like Al or Keanu. Those are good to propel "nonames" for better parts and bigger budget movies.
@@abcdefghijklmnop5587 that's just pacino doing his thing, but he was good. Also, the public doesn't want to have a dilemma of liking the devil to some extent, and in a fucking movie. So it's no surprise this movie went unnoticed.
I'm sure nowadays Mr. Reeves misses having an interview like this in which he could just talk about acting and movies. I guess he must be sick & tired of talking about the same silly topics he's asked about in every single interview he has: how young he looks for his age, sad Keanu memes and that he's Internet's official boyfriend. I'd never seen an actor as passionate and devoted to its task as him. I love the way he enjoys doing his job.
Well yeah it's a shallow culture in Hollywood they always flatter appeal to vanity there I don't think he's terribly insecure though he's a hard worker not coasting on his looks completely anyway. Listen to him explaining the moral dilemma in the film here he's passionate about it not just gloating about being a star.
I wonder that acting in this movie effect how he behave today. The theme of this movie is about vanity, and he’s like one of the most humble celebrity nowadays.
I have nurtured every sensation man has been inspired to have. I cared about what he wanted and I never judged him. Why? because I never rejected him. In spite of all his imperfections I'm a fan of man. I'm a humanist, I maybe the last humanist."
wow i loved the way Keanu explaining the things, he is just AWESEOME, yes for Keanu the interview should be on the script , role, how the story telling goes, then we can see our KEANU all energetic, enthusiastic, passionate, loving KEANU is...LOTS OF LOVE KEANU, felt so happy watching you, and the way you explaining the things is PERFECT.
Props to the inteviewer that not only actually saw the film (not every interviewers does it) but for show inerest which complemented well with Keanu's genuine interest for the movie aswel.
I absolutely love this interview. I think this is my very best interview ever. This gentlemen had so many great and open questions and your answers are so exciting and fighting for what you had to be and your true feelings... Best movie. Pacino his facial expressions his mannerisms. When he uses his mouth, tongue, lips. He really makes you think he is the devil. When he says about your few films, Chain Reaction, and you whistle. I thought you were going to snap. One of my avorite movies... Morgan Freeman... What an actor. As I said, LOVE THIS INTERVIEW...💖💖💖💋💋💋🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
My take on this was that this was an Irish interviewer. I'm of an Irish back round so I watch a lot of Irish Interviewers. They very often go for the jugular asking a lot of profound and provacative questions. They love a good intellectual argument. Obviously so does Keanu. We don't often get to see actors like this but clearly Keanu was ready for him.I wish he would play more lawyers because I think he has got a fine legal mind. Of course a good script with deep issues would also be important. I loved when he said that high drama in a courtroom and the way that people perceive that does not define the event. We need more philosophical Keanu and more interviewers that ask questions like these.
"I have nurtured every sensation man has been inspired to have. I cared about what he wanted and I never judged him. Why? because I never rejected him. In spite of all his imperfections I'm a fan of man. I'm a humanist, I maybe the last humanist."
it's insane how dense this interviewer is. keanu's appearance of annoyance makes it feel genuine. i wonder if the guy was doing this for show or if he's really this clueless
Literally Keanu being the Devil's Advocate.... Talking about the movie "Devil's Advocate".... This is some holariously awesome stuff... He's having such fun 😂❤!
My gorgeous lovely intelligent Keanu, how I love to hear you talk, you mesmerized me, cannot stop loving you!! Although I want to fir is not healthy!!! But just cannot!! I will love you forever, forever and 3days ❤❤❤
Phalguni Sharma (India) Oh God! Keanu's being so patient and cute while laughing in a different way in this interview and I think I have never seen young Keanu before like this in interviews of Speed, Matrix Trilogy etc.
lol amazed by comments, people are into Keanu Reeves too much haha. The film is an amazing piece of intelligence and litterature. We shouldnt forget about the director and the people who wrote the script/the novel etc. They made this happen. :)
He has a big ego which is a terrible combination when your line of work is interviewing people. They meddle and try to be the center of discussion which in turn stifles the conversation. Not to mention they end up looking terrible annoying.
Fascinating seeing him describe what he perceived as remorse from Al Pacino’s devil, I saw that as well. Just as God wants you to make the right choice without interference, the devil wants you to make the right choice while interfering. What’s beautiful though, it all boils down to doing what’s right. Always.
I just love seeing how passionate he was in explaining his views and opinions.
ya he sounds very intelligent and the view of him being "dumb" looks to be a credit tp his acting skills. Keanu>
There is good reason he does
Yeah at 3:35
Very true.
Keanu Reeves is a symbol of true love, loyalty, truth fullness, humbleness, empathy, and kindness with overloaded cuteness. Total package ❤️
So good to see this young, feisty and confident Keanu who can think faster than his interviewer can talk.
Devils Advocate is an UNDERRATED FILM! AL PACINO SHOULD GOT NOMINATED FOR AN OSCAR FOR THIS PORTRAYAL.
I think its one of the best movies ever made. And one of the truest. The entire movie is a metaphor. Ego/success/wealth/power/lust over truth and love. And having Pacino as the Devil and Keanu as his son. Pure gold! I remember seeing it in the cinema with my mate and being blown away

i think this is the first interview that i saw of keanu being almost irritated
The interviewer didn't get the movie...
irish can be annoying

Lilliane.. Keanu.. Knows More then you Think.. He's Well Educated.. AND INTELLIGENT.... SORRY
You're Right..!!!!!!!
I can't agree you more!

Passion for what you do in the flesh. It's a joy to watch.
Interviewer : your a nice guy in this
Keanu: what’s a nice guy?!
😂😂😂
Man they rarely make movies like this anymore. And you never see interviews like this either. Loved it.
Gosh he just knows all the script by heart, not just his part, Al Pacino's too!
He's a real actor!
Keanu is just great! So innocent! So straightforward! How did he manage to keep all this being a Hollywood star!
He is an actor. . . .
He’s grounded it’s a choice (which aligns with what he’s saying here)
Keanu evokes such a pure, passion for his craft and for, life...I ADORE his laughter at 4:31 where he's kinda giddy, lololzzzz 💜
He's such a fantastic storyteller in the way he communicates. I just love his passion, animation and how articulate he is. Magic 💖
Love you ❤
Fun interview. It looks like Keanu enjoyed this conversation.
Keanu Reeves definitely has the upper hand on wisdom & philosophy in this interview. :-)
Could listen to this man speak all day...hes pretty interesting and intelligent
I wonder that acting in this movie effect how he behave today. The theme of this movie is about vanity, and he’s like one of the most humble celebrity nowadays.
I love this because it’s a debate and this is a movie about an attorney. The irony isn’t lost on me
Can you believe he was in his 30s in that movie? I was 18 when it came out he looks almost that age.
He's handsome
People don’t age that much from 18 to 33.
❤❤❤
I'm surprised no one noticed this. Keanu and the interviewer are playing Devil's Advocate, while Keanu is promoting Devil's Advocate.
lol!!! Good point
I feel ashamed to not remember what that even means. Google here we go..
i love his voice
Keanu knows everyone else's lines too lol
I have nurtured every sensation man has been inspired to have. I cared about what he wanted and I never judged him. Why? because I never rejected him. In spite of all his imperfections I'm a fan of man. I'm a humanist, I maybe the last humanist."
Keanu is far more moral that the interviewer! The reason why the latter does not let Keanu speak!
Yup
One of my favourite movies of all time. I remember coming out of the cinema after seeing it being completely blown away.
Very cool interview! Well done to interviewer to get such a passionate involvement from Keanu!
This dude sweating his ass off by trying to talk over Keanu
I love the way he just casually quoted Chris Rock.
He probably definitely liked "How Not To Get Your Ass Kicked By The Police."
WOW! A lot smarter &
Passionate than ever thought…good stuff
I respect this man cause of his mannerisms and insight- and he "Tee-hees" 🤣🤣🤣
Keanu lowkey SNAPPED BRUH 😂

Keanu is incredibly talented at plugging movies. That matrix plug at the end was great
Dude was walking on water back then, I can tell he knew he'd nailed the role, was rising fast as an A lister, this man was high on life and success.
Wow Keanu doesn't give interviews like this anymore.
Anger came out when he said "even tho I know it's my job and I its shh, it's terrible" we all knew he was finna say shit
has he ever been such emotional ever since?
That's why this movie is so good, it can turn even a scripted film interview into a debate about ethics.

I love how in the movie Al Pacino character says I only set the stage you pull your own strings
it's insane how dense this interviewer is. keanu's appearance of annoyance makes it feel genuine. i wonder if the guy was doing this for show or if he's really this clueless
Did the interviewer even watch the movie? He doesn't get it at all.
I didn't get it until I re-watched it 20 years later lol
Lol I like that half way thru the interview he laughs. What a nice chuckle. I wish the interviewer would let him talk dang it all!
Literally Keanu being the Devil's Advocate.... Talking about the movie "Devil's Advocate".... This is some holariously awesome stuff... He's having such fun 😂❤!

Phalguni Sharma (India)
Oh God! Keanu's being so patient and cute while laughing in a different way in this interview and I think I have never seen young Keanu before like this in interviews of Speed, Matrix Trilogy etc.

Never realized how quick-witted Keanu was. He was having none of what the interviewer was pushing.
When he says “I take her apart”
I laughed so much
whooo boy Keanu is so intelligent and thoughtful. Love this guy.
Just can’t get u out of my head I’m addicted to u
This man has a career because of how he looks, not what's (not)between his ears.
lol amazed by comments, people are into Keanu Reeves too much haha. The film is an amazing piece of intelligence and litterature. We shouldnt forget about the director and the people who wrote the script/the novel etc. They made this happen. :)
The writing is so incredible, my jaw dropped the first time I watched this. Especially on Eddies death scene.
4:31 !!! 😂 I can’t💀
wow... never saw a great interview like this... very passionate and real and raw 🙏🏻🙏✊🏿🤳
Love your passion and your analysis ❤
Oh my god Keanu’s laugh at 4:31

Keanu Reeves is the most beautiful man in the world ❤❤❤❤
Dave fanning didn’t understand the movie so leave it to Keanu to explain it for him
keanu’s awesome
Dam this man is gorgeous
Never seen him defend The Devil so much and be so giddy about it. He prolly wrote him a love letter after this. . . .
the interviewer is not too bright
He has a big ego which is a terrible combination when your line of work is interviewing people. They meddle and try to be the center of discussion which in turn stifles the conversation. Not to mention they end up looking terrible annoying.
Loved!
❤❤❤❤
Keanu is a pretty deep guy.
He's the best❤💖💕
One really brilliant movie ❤
his laugh is so precious
Love Keanu
That matrix bit at the end was great
Super cool wow love you Keanu Reeves ❤️😘💔😘
Interviewer "Maybe I do know what I'm talking about"
Keanu "No"
😅
I did nt know he was so alive then
Devils Advocate...good move but a little scary!
Gran actor
"Excuse me ma'am, did I leave my boot under your bed?"
The moment Keanu clicks @ 3:19 😡

The interviewer is rude. He cuts Reeves off too much
Yes
