It's of that isekai trend that is "I am subordinate to the demon lord; with my past life, I want to be the best!"
The same story with the same dynamics is [Reincarnated into a Werewolf, the Demon Lord Servants] with the same quality.
This series is interesting because there was no mention anywhere about this series getting an anime. The big hype of this series was that it was getting a light novel and finally coming to print in America. 5 hours after the first episode was released all it’s social media started to talk about it becoming an anime next week.
The only Isekai parts are the references. The Art of War and Geneva convention comes up a lot in the manga. I don’t know if it will show up in the anime.
The demon lord lady is terrifying, has a real demon lord aura. Give thirteen is a slave, i sense a future episode where our mc will get enraged by the guy who used to own her. Demon grandaddy gives solomon moto levels of wisdom.
Man, that hottie boss of his, she's thirsty for him, but he's smart to keep his hands to himself. The Demon Lord is sharp too. She's probably going to figure it out, but I see her as the most likely potential romance in his future. If he does well and keeps performing, maybe she won't care that he's human. He made a point to tell us that the demon lord is known to reward results, regardless of other factors.
I don't really know where this is going. But I blinked and 20 minutes instantly passed.
Definitely coming back next week for this one.

My wife and I watched this today after finishing up Mysterious Disappearances and were pleasantly surprised. It's going in the queue
That is why the Kaylons failed in the Orville, They think killing a human who stop the others from revolving and that would prove wrong even after one of their members that lived among humans told them not to because he knows what will happen.

This was a happy surprise today. Wasn't even on the schedule on the websites I use to stream and when it popped up it reminded me that I watched the trailer for it a while ago lol. And yeah, episode 1 was a great start to the summer season. I like the maid and her quirky-ness lol. But best girl is the witch lady who insta-summoned him to fight her golem because she is kinda like big sis energy. Teasing him that she can float when he struggles to use the fly spell lol.
His commander really likes to tease him but knows how capable he is. Well, this anime has an adult MC, which we don't get too often.
I really liked the character design. Especially the demon lord ❤. This will go to my watch list definitely.
NGL thirteen, I mean Satie is hilarious. The overall bubbliness of her is too much! But his superior, man.. she even was like aw.. here i thought you'd try to take a feel. I was like "DAMMIT HOW DID YOU KNOW WHAT I WAS TIHNKING!?" From the opening i saw her and wa slike well damn, we got some good plot and assets in this show. THe use of CG wa spretty tame, you'd miss it if you didn't pay attention. Overall, it kind ahas the same animation style as New gate to , when i look at Ike that is, othe rthan that it' squality and this looks to be another wild ride on the other side of the war between humans and demons!
So... Chillin in my 30s, except with magic? I kid I kid. I've seen worse starts so I'm going to give it a try.
Cute, clumsy maid? Check. Busty magic Senpai? Check. Cute but menacing demon lord? Check.
Let see here: Op Mc: ✅ Isekai: ✅ Loli maid: ✅ Hot women: ✅possibly trashy: ✅ The new season is starting with an Isekai, and with interesting premise that's got me hooked. and we get another Isekai tomorrow too, only it’s Suicide Squad Isekai and it’s gonna be peak. We will eat well again this new anime season.

This is actually one I've already read before! Liked it and can't wait to see it animated, it's gonna be weird watching a show and already knowing most of the plot for the first time going in though lol.
Just watched this Episode. I gotta say, bad CGI aside, it's a pretty fun anime.
The main character feels like he's gonna have a tense time managing his balance of not favoring humans too much, not letting demons make atrocities on them too much, all while hiding the fact he's a human from everyone. His "right-hand man", the pig guy, is also really cool! I though he was just gonna be annoying loudmouth yessman with a hidden agenda, but he genuinelly believes that MC is this *"genius"* who's gonna push the Demon Realm into a new age of prosperity and be the new Demon Lord.
That surprised me! The fact the protagonist has a real homie there backing him up!
And yeah, I don't fault you for thinking that his boss, the witch, is best girl. _But, I'm afraid we all know he's:_ A - gonna end up with Thirteen, or B - not gonna end up with no one.
I will legitimaly be SHOCKED if he ends up in a relationship with his commander, that will be inovative for a change!
*The Demon Lord is scary, though.* =__= That scene where he thought his cover was blown was genuinely tense.
But I'm glad for that, cause I'm kinda tired of that trope of the Demon Lord lady being the usual "main heroine" type of normal girl and she's a nice, just ruler simply trying to do her best. *No, not here, this one feels genuinely serious, malicious and dangerous.* It's good to see that appearences can be deceiving for once! (she looks cute, sure, until you see her eyes and listen to her talk)

Just caught this earlier and I forgot about the trailer I seen awhile ago. But it instantly got my interest as it will have drama and tension based on his secret and the danger that possible to happen.
MC named Ike. Now I've seen it all 😅 Kidding aside the show looks good so far with the art style, animation and an interesting story.
I might have missed the part were it´s an isekai :/
The maid was funny and the demon lord looks a bit like Aura from Frieren. For now I keep an eye on it.
As soon as I hear that the main character is called Ike, I am instantly thinking of the blue haired behemoth from the Tellius saga of fire emblem.
I thought this was pretty good the first episode went by so fast tho. The end of Unnamed Memory was really sad yesterday tho

Not a bad start, memorable characters
The story just sounds almost very similar to I'm Quitting Heroing where main guy decides to work with the demons.
Also "Chillin´ in my 30s..." where the MC was a human, and as a baby was found/adopted by one of the demon generals.
Goddamn... I did not expect summer season to start early... Hell, even the breaks between seasons are getting shorter 🤣
But on a serious note, I was thinking of whether or not to watch this show when I was looking through the list and I decided to check it out since they said it was coming out early today. I had time and I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. The trailers were decent but I didn't know how the content of the story was. And this type of story interests me. I also think the VA for Ike is actually Lelouch's VA which is great casting. The art is pretty sharp and I like the 3D actually for his model when he has the mask on and even on the monsters. It's not too distracting imo. The witch character is definitely... Good... In all areas 🤣
Seriously, I like how she is like his mentor when his father demon took care of him and taught him the use of magic.
I also really like the fact he doesn't want to kill anyone and he is showing his humanity. It was funny when that little maid girl found out he was actually a human and she freaked out so hard that she bumped her head and passed out 🤣
And afterwards he just gave her some dumplings and told her to sit there and wait while he went to deal with the demon lord.
I sense that the demon lord knows that he isn't exactly a demon... It's just whether she suspects he's a humand and if so, what is she going to do about that...
You can also see the potential he has as a leader and now he is showing it by how he structured the way he wants the wall to be built in one month by giving the demons and humans motivation with extra pay and fair working hours.
The OP is quite catchy and I love it tbh.
I saw someone say on twitter that this OP was on par with Re Monster's OP and I'm sorry but this OP is a 100 times better than Re Monster. This doesn't have a cringe rap part in between and it's quite good musically too. Visually it may not stick out but it's serviceable.
The ED imo is better tbh... That was a vibe and a half.
It was not a 10/10 episodes but I liked what I saw so for me it was an 8/10 and I'm definitely going to keep watching.

If I'm remembering correctly, the demon lord suspects his identity because she's also isekai'd from Earth. Specifically, she was Oda Nobunaga in her previous life.
Was not expecting this so watched it and did enjoy it. Will watch it all unless its goes south really quickly
First episode had a very dark lighting. It was hard to see anything I thought.
The strongest magician in the demon lord's army was a human was decent isekai anime for me and i give this anime 7.8 out 10 rating . The story was decent and cgi not bad .

I think that the current demon lord probably already knows he is human to be honest.
You can't expect me to believe someone with that much presence (and seeming intelligence) didn't notice one of their most powerful soldiers at the time suddenly poofed a demon baby from thin air and kept his identity hidden for his entire life.
And it seems like she agrees with his methods.
And that mask comment too, I don't think she meant a literal mask...
Both opening and ending were great on this one. I love the ending more but that's just my opinion

I'll watch, though I'll compare it to the 30yo magician that got kicked out of the demon lord army, or something like that from a year or so go. My hope isnt up but I'll see how this plays out.

There will be a lot of good anime coming up this summer for example: Tower of God, Fairy Tail & others.
It felt pretty generic too me and hiding the fact he's human is already old after the first episode.

Is the Demon Lord the waifu of this series? If so, she's in for a homicidal awakening. Could be fun if the production cards are played right.
Can i ask if Brandon figured out the funny meaning of the Demon lord's name? That is a good clue to the whole isekai element of this anime. Those who know, wlknow even if they read the manga or lightnovel or not.

Is this an isekai? He is human, but does he have any past memories from somewhere else? Oddly, they are only giving hints that he is by his understanding of past civilization.

Unnamed Memory was a mediocre show this season, with an EP song that is best EP of the season.
But the episode 12 finale was doing some Time Traveller's Wife plot out of no where and it brought the feels.
I agree that episode 12 of Unnamed Memory was pretty good--I'm looking forward to its S2 in Jan 2025!
