As a new subscriber, I am absolutely loving your podcasts, and learning so much about quilting and crafting. I find them soothing and therapeutic. 😊 You mentioned that it would have been helpful to have a large table to use for quilting...I have invested in a couple of 2' x 4' folding tables from Walmart here in the U.S. that are so useful in our sort of cramped house. Perhaps you have something similar in the UK. Thanks so much, Rachel! I look forward to watching many more of your wonderful videos!
Your log cabin quilt is beautiful! And I love that it's not perfect and that's ok, that you're still enjoying making it! I get so intimidated by machine quilting sometimes, that it has to be perfect or it's no good...so it's nice to see you enjoying your quilt, and it really is gorgeous!
Thank you so much for both your lovely comments. Yeah I do find machine quilting intimidating too, but sometimes I just want a quick finish to work through my stash but I do prefer hand work. Xx
You and I have similar color likes. I just love the softer. look. I do agree that EPP is addicting. One last note you have exquisite skin and beautiful hair.
Pretty colours in your log cabin quilt. I believe Kate was making a string pieced quilt. You could probably search under that for more information. Bonnie K Hunter used to use this technique years ago. She is known for her scrap quilts and was a regular live youtuber, where she would demonstrate how to do it without wasting anything.
Adding machine tape, and I think she references Karen Brown of Just Get it Done Quilts who just finished and shared on Instagram her crumb masterpiece!
What size square templates are you using for your sister's quilt and do you make your own templates or if not where can I purchase the square templates from? Thank you, love watching your channel.
Hiya, thank you for watching. I probably should of mentioned this info in the video, sorry about that! They are 2 inch squares and I purchased the papers from sew and quilt, they are uk based company x

I’d love to see the binding you selected for the log cabin quilt with gingham backing. Very beautiful and well done.

Beautiful work Rachel❣👍👍
Thank you so much x
That green sweater is really pretty!
I think you might be talking about adding machine paper rolls. Love all your finishes!
Oh thank you! I'll have a look into that x
Yes was hoping someone would mention that method
❤❤❤
Very pretty quilt !!!
Thank you! I can't wait to get it finished. Thank you for watching
Your quilt is beautiful.
Try a quilt hoop it helps with the back puckers
Love the doggy sweater
The paper ‘Just get it done quilts’ uses to sew fabric crumbs to is old calculator or till tape rolls. You can get them from a stationer.
I tried looking for those but I found it really hard in the uk
using tape to pull the back taut then rolling on the battening (wadding?) then the top and then pin base it together.
Also called adding machine tape.
Adding machine tape, and I think she references Karen Brown of Just Get it Done Quilts who just finished and shared on Instagram her crumb masterpiece!
Karen Brown of Just Get It Done Quilts uses cash register tape for crumbs and has a video covering her process.
I basted a large quilt on my wall sticking it up with push pins once. That was difficult.
The last Homely house she pieced on Calculator tape…..
Karen just get it done, adding machine tape
How do you get them so uniform and perfect?
