    Nice bike and review. I too love my Cinelli Superstar, bought 2nd hand at a local highend bikestore i Denmark. I instantly felt at home, the bike fits like a glove (57 cm frame, I'm 189 cm). I ran 3000+ km road mostly TT and a few grand fondos during lockdown 2020. The whole winter I kept up rolling indoor un my Elite Quick Motion Ruller and now the season has just startet again. I max out at 33 km/h over 40 very flat km, but fairly happy with that, being 53. Your average in the 120 km race sounds quite awesome. Cheers.

      Thanks it is a great bike and slightly unique which I like. Yes I was pleased with the near 35km per hour average considering I was 63 at the time

      @@cannon1156 , yes it's an impressive speed, maybe due to more peleton-ride than cutting the wind by one self? I mostly ride solo, as aero as I get, on more or less the same route, planning to get tail wind on an almost 20 km long double bikepath. My Cinelli came with Shimano Ultegra Di2, works great, and very good carbon rims from 3T, that I fitted with latex tubes and Pirelli Cinturato 26 mm. No punctures for more than 3000 km (knock under wood!).

    Hi Greg, amazing video, thanks for that! I also want to build an Cinelli Superstar for me but I'm not sure about the frame size. I'm 178cm tall and I don't know which size ( M or L) would fit the best for me?! Which size do you ride and what is your hight, would you recommend a size?
    Thanks a lot and have a nice day.

    • @cannon1156
      @cannon1156  3 года назад +2

      I am 182 cm tall and I ride a large. You could most probably go a medium with a slightly longer stem or bars with a longer reach

    • @ssmith954
      @ssmith954 3 года назад +2

      Been looking at the same frame and am 179.5cm (without shoes). Based on previous frames I've had, a large for me would be the best fit in Cinelli geometry. I would use a shorter stem than the one in the video though.
      It's annoying as 178-180cm height always seems to land in-between in frame sizes!

    • @cannon1156
      @cannon1156  3 года назад +1

      @@ssmith954 .. yes that sounds about right. You can adjust around stem length and bar reach. The only change I have made to the bike is that I am now using a Pro Logo Scratch M5 short saddle which is extremely comfortable

      Size will depend on you. If you currently have a bike check it tube lengths if you like its fit. You can adjust a bike a little using longer stem and longer reach bars as well

    I know the listed max tire width is 28mm, but having the bike do you think there is clearance for a 30mm? Or is it already pretty tight?
    Thanks!

    • @cannon1156
      @cannon1156  4 года назад +4

      Andrew I have 28s on my bike and it looks like you could fit 30s in . You would need to make sure your 30s are not oversized ones like some brands make. I am also using rims with a 21mm internal width which stops tyres from bulging off the rim

    Hi Greg
    Thanks for your great video
    I’m looking at buying that same bike in M size I’m 177 cm ,83 cm inseam for 62 kg (long leg short torso)
    I live in HongKong
    and I’ve ridden a lot in Thailand too and hopefully will do again.
    My little concern is the head tube at 145 mm seems a little law compare to my Merida sculptural in m/l size
    Would it be hard to adapt? I’m an experienced rider but at 50 y/o not as flexible as I was.
    Any help appreciated
    Many thanks mate
    Philippe

      Besnard .. some basic info. I am riding the L frame. I am 182cm , 92kg and 64 years old. My saddle to centre of bottom bracket (170 cranks) is 78cm. I use this bike for both training and racing. Yes the Superstar does have a short headtube giving the bike a stack of 548mm. What was the stack on your Merida? Comparing the stack should give you an idea of the diffference in bending you have to do. I am using a set of 3T Aeronova bars (with a 110 stem) which have a very long reach compared to a lot of other bars. Maybe you would be ok with a more standard reach bars with also a shorter drop. If you are looking around for the frame also check out Cycling Express.(cyclingexpress.com) as they sometimes have this frame on special. Any more info needed dont hesitate to send another message. Cheers
