I love to look back on all the great footage of the early Bee Gees. It was so cool to see how they grew up and progressed through all the years. It seems like it took the twins a little while until they reached puberty. You can see and hear it on these videos. Boy did their cute little voices deepen and fill out so amazingly. Perfectly blended to big brother Barry's deeper voice. Only talented brothers raised up together and singing at very early ages could have accomplished this awesome and perfect sound. A special thanks to all the great posters supplying these amazing historical music treasures.
In this video, you can really tell that their voices got stronger and blended even better. I am so impressed with Mo and that twelve string. He was just naturally talented both with instruments, vocals, and composing. I say this because he was always so terribly underrated. I love them all but always have had a very tender spot for Mo.
I know Mo would not believe he was underrated , he did what was comfortable to him , band of brothers , always , equal brothers in their minds and that’s all that matters
Talented Mo playing the way he was and with no training, self taught!!! And he only got better and more handsome with time. The Bee Gees were all so very very talented and handsome, but Mo just took it to the next level. Loved Mo, Loved Robin RIP. Barry you just keep Staying Alive, we need you❤️😊❤️😢❤️😢
Maurice!!! 😍❤️ I love them all but Maurice has always been my favourite... underrated and so sweet and charming! They were all so talented and brilliant at such a young age. My mind is blown! I am 21 and I just can’t believe people were so talented at my age back then. Gorgeous! They don’t make em like they used to.
Too bad you don't hear these songs on the radio... they were obviously well done... and professionally done... especially considering how young they were Barry 17 approximately, and Maurice and Robin 15 approximately....How many 15 and 17 year olds, can say that?♥️😁
Oh, those darling twins, Maurice, cute with that heavy guitar.☺️ But he can really play it! They are taking direction from someone. Now, look this way, do that ! So darling!☺️
Probably taking direction from their dad. He always urged them to smile when performing. As Maurice later said that their dad told them that if they looked like crap then their audience would fee like crap too.
It seems that by this point, our beloved Bee Gees were not longer doing cutesy songs on "Band Stand" You could also tell how grown up Robin looks here. OH SO GORGEOUS!!!
Adolescentes, inocente lindos de coração e mente, pureza de caráter incontestável, foram escolhidos à dedo, para serem enviados à terra, para servir à Deus, alegrando a humanidade inteira, para sempre Bee Gees ❤.
Yes, both songs were written by Barry. He was signed to a five year recording contract at age 15 and won Australia's song writer of the year award in 1967.
@kthor I learned about this in the book The Bee Gees. The Ultimate Biography, Tales Of The Brothers Gibb. It has so much in it about their younger days. Don't know if you saw my post a couple of months ago about Barry getting a solo audition spot on a local television program because some one saw him singing at the Gaumont movie theatre in Manchester when he was only 11 years old. He was to be there at 7 pm, but because his dad was working with his band that night, he would have had to catch a bus into the city around 5:30. He asked his friend Kenny to go with him, but since it was already dark, his mom wouldn't let him go. So Barry didn't go. Who knows what might have happened?😁😁😁

Is that really Barry back there or a stand-in?! He looks so different than Barry usually looks and Barry is usually up front. Maybe he got sick or something and they needed a stand-in for him.
He started writing songs around the same time he got his first guitar at age 9 and taught himself to play. By age 12, he had around 90 songs in his portfolio. A very prolific songwriter.
Funny I see their dad in both Barry and Andy and Robin looks like the mom (to my eye). Mo was a mystery to me. I learned as children and grandchildren came into our family that resemblances can change from day to day.
His Mother said he always wrote deep songs from the time he was small. GOD given talent!!! Also, it seems that the music in their home was making a deep impression on Barry, while he was healing from accidentally pulling the hot tea off the table onto himself. GOD moves in mysterious ways.
Barry has said he got a lot of his ideas for love songs from reading older sister Leslie's True Romance magazines. He had a unique and amazing talent to write songs from a very young age.
True, although considering that Barry first married at age 19 -- and Robin and Maurice at 19 and 20 respectively -- I think all three grew up a little fast!
