I just used this to estimate the amounts of drinks I will consume on a cruise to see if their drink package is worth the cost. I originally learned this at work and it is useful for more than just estimating time on a project.

What if the teacher didnt give us the "Most Likely Time" ? How can I solve the problem with out knowing it?

Thank you for the video. Very insightful. I have questions, tho. Why is the most likely time supposed to be multiplied by 4 and all need to be divided by 6? Thanks. Really appreciate your help.

It is because there is an average inside the formula (OT + MLT + MLT + MLT + MLT + PT) = 6 items, then to result an average we will need to divided by six.

hello eugene! I'm trying to understand what is the meaning of th 6 you divide O + P + 4M ?

Because there are a total of 6 terms in the formula and we have to assign different weights to different terms. The "Most Likely Time" is given more weightage because it is simply more likely to occur than the optimistic or the pessimistic time.
