If you read the comments please, PLEASE, when there is a storm chaser on the air stating: "the tornado is to my north northeast" or " the tornado is just to my southwest" please keep in mind I have no idea where you are or what direction you're driving. It would be VERY HELPFUL if your chasers stated "the tornado is to my northeast or to my left or the tornado is just to my southeast or on my right". Would be very helpful. OK is known for having some of the worst tornadoes on record. So when an EF-2 blows in it's no big deal. I'm sure it's like a minor tremor in CA. I'm in AL and we get the occasional mega tornado like the one that hit Birmingham in 2011, but they're more rare. I've never actually seen a tornado but I think I was under one once. The rain was really blasting me and it sounded like a freight train was going overhead. It was probably a tornado 50-100 feet above me that just didn't touch down. I couldn't see anything but I heard a lot.
An EF3 tornado is highly dangerous regardless of where you live, if it hits you. The key words there are "if it hits you". People think tornadoes are these huge, population-affecting events. In reality, outside of the worst tornadoes, they aren't. It's all a roll of the dice. A small EF2 or EF3 tornado is not something to worry about unless it literally goes down your street, or _maybe_ the next street down to either side. EF4 or EF5 tornadoes are another story. You can review many examples of this, in the OKC metro area. May 3, 1999, comes to mind to me, as well as the storm in Moore that shocked all of us by leveling more than one school. Tornadoes are horrific and dangerous, but only if you get hit. The area that tends to be hit is tiny in comparison to the overall state. That's how people get these misconceptions. You can easily live in Oklahoma for decades and not encounter a tornado. You will likely encounter horrible storms, no matter what.

Personally, I found it very odd that the female had to correct him regarding direction. Much RARER an event than a tornado!
