I have to wonder if as WoW fan back in the day, Yoshi used to watch stuff like TB and Jesse as they did the whole “race to be the first guys to get guides up on patch day” stuff. Cause I have to imagine back then PC gaming in Japan was even less prevalent than it is now so it’s not like he would’ve had a lot of Japanese content creators to watch instead

Well it’s the “normal” media tour developers do before releasing a game, but Yoshi and the devs acknowledge content creators been just as important as IGN or “main” new outlets
Yoshi P exudes humility, it's incredible that this man finds the time between developing two of Square's flagship titles to watch his players enjoy the game he made. That is just wonderful, this man is too good for this world.
The fact that Yoshi-P starts it off purely being like "yo we can talk FF14 or something else, it's cool" is so great. No script, no worries. Just wanted to hang out with people he enjoys.
This just shows how wholesome YoshiP is and how much he cares for the community. He took time out of his day to talk to many content creators and even asked for NA creators to turn on JP captions so the dev team can understand what we are saying. 🥺🥺
Yes but he makes a good point that it's in the content creators interest as well as it would bring in Japanese viewers. I've seen Asmongold get raids by Japanese streamers, but most of them leave because they can't follow what's being said. Now obviously doing it live of subbing entire VODS is a chore, but captioning the edited RUclips uploads def makes sense from a business standpoint.
I think the best part is how organic these Q & A are, most PR content these days are VERY scripted and almost prepared question->answer types. Asmon had revealed that they didn't even ask for a question list for their media tour, which has become rare these days but it is also why we get interesting questions like these 54:55 😂

Y'know, I think the request to turn on japanese auto-captions is an underrated thing in this interview. It just perfectly encapsulates Yoshi-P's attitude towards the fanbase.

Yoshida is a legitimate true gamer who's just passionate about everything gaming. These are the people we need in AAA studios. Such a great person, you know he cares.
I think both him and soken have absorbed a lot of english knowledge given theyve been best friends with koji fox for so long, but they prefer to speak japanese because they can convey nuance better

Now I'm just looking forward to the next interview with these three (plus Aimi, of course)
Majority of jesse and jp's questions are what i want to ask from yoshi p. Thank you guys!
Love Aimi and Yoshi, this is so free form I love it. Like a podcast, hope everyone else got this kind of interview. 🙏
One of the things I love about each interview I've watched of Yoshi-P and a streamer/creator is the look of absolute adoration and awe of him. He really does have his entire community whipped beyond belief. Or, ahem...*tempered*.
Lalafell Seater Mount
Player 1 uses mount button, put into a walk/run vehicle with an arm out, lalafells may activate seat 2 (arm) or seat 3(backpack) (no speed boost... only mount useable in towns?)
Alternative is a emote that adds a /sit point/magnet, who knows if it's possible to add a /sit point to a character model though
Jesse's on a roll: First Goldblum, now Yoshi-P? Man has all the connections and I love it.
First Jeff Goldblum and now Yoshi-P. You lucky 🦆.
I loved this and i hope that someday you do get an opportunity to have drinks and have just a talk with Yoshi-P
Hot damn, this is a struggle to get through (in a good way) I feel myself getting emotional purely from the passion here and how much this dev team means to me, I know its weird haha
I felt the same way watching this! 🥺🥺🥺🥺 You can't help but having nothing but love and respect for this man and his team. ❤️❤️
I feel the same way. I’ve followed Yoshi and his team for 11 years now….they’re like friends by now ☺️
Same here I was teary-eyed the whole way through. These devs are amazing
No, it’s only natural. How many of you really seen such a passionate gamers and developers towards the game they love most. One love to create and one love to play it.
@@k.vn.k one game to bind them.
That last question was fantastic! I was cracking up! Great interview.
The best interview I've seen in year, I cried at some parts just because how wholesome it is
loved this interview!! love from japan
just can`t wait tll the endwalker....
Kudos to you guys for asking the hard questions. Kudos to the translator for making sense of the stuff you say. Kudos to Yoshi-P for well...everything.
I'm not sure why I'm getting emotional just listening to this interview... what I am sure of is that we the players are in very good hands and Yoshi P will do everything he and his (our) team can to provide the players the best experience possible. Thanks for the great questions, new subscriber here (because of this interview).
This was such a chill time, thank you both for this and YoshiP, Aime and the team!
you've done it again! oh man this is cool and nice 😭
I love how you guys sit and listen while everything is being translated back and forth, very patient and professional
The next question I want answered: Jesse, how cool was it to hear that Yoshi-P watched your reaction videos (and other ones too!)?
To see the passion, acknowledgement and respect between you all gotcme so emotional! Loved the video and lucky you getting to meet the man himself JC!
Shout out to Aimi who does a stellar job translating.
Loved the video. Great work by JP and yourself, Jesse.
Love the content, keep up the great work!
From all the interviews I watched, this one and Zepla's were the funniest. Thank you for providing such a cool and funny conversation with yoshi guys.
This is so wholesome and soooo good! Well done JP and Jesse!
I love how appreciative he is of your content!
Yoshida is a legitimate true gamer who's just passionate about everything gaming. These are the people we need in AAA studios. Now you only really see this kind of passion from Indie devs.
edit: I also love that because Yoshida knows a great amount of English he'll listen to his own translator repeat what he says and react along with it as if he was saying it with her. Such a great person, you know he cares.
I think both him and soken have absorbed a lot of english knowledge given theyve been best friends with koji fox for so long, but they prefer to speak japanese because they can convey nuance better
I like this video. I like the interviewers and I like the people being interviewed, and I like the translator!
I couldn't stop laughing about lalafells on the shoulder part! xD
I watched Jesse video for ShB. It was such an epic journey especially because his reaction mirrors mine.
I really love that you guys had a chance to ask the fun questions at the end, that's more the style I see from you typically and it was the best part of the whole interview. :)
Wow! I can't believe how Yoshida-san would do this interviews! I mean it probably took several hours to actually do the entire interview from different media/content creator and this makes it even more apparent how the team and Yoshida-san really takes players and fan feedback seriously. My love for them definitely took several notches up. :D
Yoshi-P :) We love you! Keep up the good work FF team! :D
Oh, what a great theory! Yeah, Yoshi-P could totally be a (nice) primal and I for one am totally tempered! 😅 Thanks for this interview, I was smiling and tearing up through all of it. I guess I get really mushy because I find it so special for the ACTUAL PRODUCER AND DIRECTOR to spend time with parts of the FF XIV community and be so supportive and thankful for the content streamers and RUclipsrs put out there. I loved to see him laugh so heartily at some of your questions. I hope you both enjoyed it! 🥲❤️
The fact that Jesse and JP being the last pair to have the interview, it's such a wonderful question to end the interview media tour for YoshiP and Aimi! Fantastic job!
Get Jesse to 1 million subscribers before the year ends!!!
Man it's so cool to watch these interviews with Yoshi P! I would love to ask him questions myself about FFXIV! I've been playing since ARR came out on the PS3 and now am playing it on the PS5. I really love this game and can't wait to play Endwalker! Thanks for this video Jesse and JP and If I could ask a question to Yoshi P I think it would be about open world PVP or When Zenos was made where did he get his inspiration from? Zenos forsure reminds me of Sephiroth and I would say both are my favorite bad guys of Final Fantasy.
God i love this man ive only played this game for a few months but hes so open and honest with us that its refreshing. Its because of his leadership that we have this amazing game. Now ima go binge all the other interviews out there lol
A game developed thanking a youtuber for enjoying their content... what planet is yoshi p from and why is he so wholesome?!
I did worry about how Endwalker would perform after ShB but I’ve stopped thinking of it in those terms. It’s the closing of one arc and the start of a new beginning, a new story- that’s what I’m excited for. For the future of XIV!
I think whatever the future of Final Fantasy XIV is, one thing I'll always appreciate is just what a chill and great guy Yoshi-P is.
ありがとうございますよしさん!上手ゲームデザイナーとさらに重要なのは優しいとかっこいい人です!
Thank you for putting up the whole interview and also getting some silly questions in there - I like seeing everyone else's whether they're condensed or not but it's just awesome to get to watch it all!
Great interview! Thanks, Jesse and JP!
I love this so much. Thanks for the interview Jesse.
There aren’t many times that I would say something was a pleasure to watch instead of great video. But this was a damn pleasure to watch and throughly enjoyed it.
May the algorithm be on your side :D Great video
I knew it. TATARU IS ZODIARK ALL ALONG. That explains how she managed all those impossible tasks!!!!!
lol i love that just mentioning tataru got a laugh out of yoshida, such a wonderful man *edit- omg just saw the part of yoshida laughing at the idea of lalafell being able to sit on taller races shoulders
The opening is so wholesome 🥺
The entire thing is wholesome. I can only wish YoshiP the best, easily one of the best developers in gaming and a great human being to boot.
Lalafell sitting on shoulders could be a unique "Follow Player" animation. Easy
as a lalfell i would LOVE it soo much! such a great idea!
Thoroughly enjoyed the interview. Great job, both of you!
Yo the interview aside, the translation is effin BOMB Holy shit 🔥🔥🔥
"Let's just have fun."
Wow. Him saying that about an interview at the start just says so much aboout him by itself. I'm impressed.
Comming from Wow this is so refreshing... The attitude is heaven/hell different. I Even remained sub last month even tho i knew i wasnt going to play to show my support for these guys
oh wow you guys got an hour with Yoshi. He must rly love you guys!
Great interview thanks! It was so wholesome in the end :)
Oh my god. Yoshi's expression at 10:19. The man knows exactly what kind of emotional rollercoaster we're all going to go through, and he can't wait lol
Is Aimi-san a part of the dev team? I like how articulate she is and feels like she really knows what she’s talking about
She's either part of the localization or the communications team, most likely the latter.
@@seojaepark If I can trust google, she seems to have worked in Project Communications, Marketing and as an Assistent Manager for several Square Enix Games over the past 8 years. As for FFXIV specifically she seems to be part of the PR Team since ARR
@@LarsisLP Yeah she's been a translator at SE for years, but for XIV being an MMO means she had to get closer to the team and devote more time and energy to it than other projects she has done, so to make things easier she just became an official part of the XIV development team, so much so she is even in the credits of the game.
@@smward87 As shown in the live letter she has to know the game pretty well as most skills don't directly translate. The Sage and Monk demonstrations she translated looked pretty hard
I think she has to be well versed in the Game as in general the Japanese names for things are widely different than the English names. Like Cure II is Kearaga (Curaga) in Japanese. Scorch is Collapse in Japanese. Primal is Banshin (Barbarian God).
Just from the first second it's already great and things feel sincere even through the filter of translation. Im going to enjoy this interview!
That "you're my hero" story made me grab my chest
This is just so wholesome to listen to. Thank you so much Jesse and JP and congratulations on this incredible opportunity!!
Such a great interview yoshi p what a legend so unique and refreshing to see this and great job aimi
