I suspect that certain members of Lesser-afim demanded that they be given top billing before they would sign up, and didn't want to share the limelight with any other group. Source Music then had to pick between them and Gfriend. Unfortunately for Buddies, this seems to be a sound financial decision by Source Music as Lesser-afim is getting much more views than Gfriend did. This one Buddy however had never watched a single Lesser-afim release since that terrible day, and doesn't intend to. Source Music is dead to me since they dumped Gfriend.

mhj was going to work with soumu but she told CEO hybe she didn't want to work with soumu then she wanted to have her own agency then suddenly she took soumu's staff and trainees to ador (mhj's agency) then gfriend was disbanded the members didn't even know they were disbanded even they found out if they were disbanded through articles, soumu used to open trainees and some newjeans members became soumu trainees, so actually gfriend's sister was newjeans:)

In my mind, he is as culpable for GFRIEND’s forced disbandment as HYBE is. Even if he didn’t actively have a hand in GFRIEND’s ouster, he is just as guilty for standing by and letting it happen. He should’ve been loud and outspoken defending the group that lifted his company out of obscurity and into mainstream success. And Chaewon and Yunjin and Nako Yabuki can sing "Into the new world" in Produce48. But the performance which Nako Yabuki sang Love Whisper in Produce48 was better than the performance of Chaewon and Yunjin. I was very moved by Nako's performance(Love Whisper). They are just not marketable anymore. They were trapped in a place wherein they will continue to lose fans no matter what they do. If they continue to produce the same lame songs like time for the moonlight or love whisper international will never buy into them then if the continue to produce songs like apple and mago korean fans will leave them. This is the problem of them not changing their image fast enough. Look at twice even them are struggling nowadays to produce top charting songs and they have successfully transitioned themselves. Look at the difference between cheer up and cant stop me but both of those songs are chart hitters. The fact that they produce that fcking garbage crossroads song when they are in the most experimental company in kpop tells you that they are not going anywhere. Then they proceeded to change drastically with apple without proper direction, the result most korean fans hated it.
The short conclusion is simple, they just stagnated now. Companies nowadays prefer to have more sales and numbers go up. But what GFRIEND has is solid loyal Korean listener and domestics sales for your so called "lame songs" even with the switch causes a number drop they also had a fair share merch sales and concerts around. Their music is usually preferred in SK, they even had the song that were meant to release in 4th-quarter of their contracts (obv before termination) back to the innocent cooncept as what SK usually preferred. Pretty sure at the time of Labyrinth Trilogy releases they broke their record for album sales, while Mago for international charts. I honestly thought the switch from Navillera to Fingertap was just them to show more what they have instead of being one dimensional to one concept, but I'd honestly preferred it wayy later (lateee 2017 perhaps) after Rainbow Repackage TLDR your statement is not entirely true, and they're DEFINITELY still marketable - just not for HYBE, they pretty reminded of Apink's case

They are just not marketable anymore. They were trapped in a place wherein they will continue to lose fans no matter what they do. If they continue to produce the same lame songs like time for the moonlight or love whisper international will never buy into them then if the continue to produce songs like apple and mago korean fans will leave them. This is the problem of them not changing their image fast enough. Look at twice even them are struggling nowadays to produce top charting songs and they have successfully transitioned themselves. Look at the difference between cheer up and cant stop me but both of those songs are chart hitters. The fact that they produce that fcking garbage crossroads song when they are in the most experimental company in kpop tells you that they are not going anywhere. Then they proceeded to change drastically with apple without proper direction, the result most korean fans hated it.
The short conclusion is simple, they just stagnated now. Companies nowadays prefer to have more sales and numbers go up. But what GFRIEND has is solid loyal Korean listener and domestics sales for your so called "lame songs" even with the switch causes a number drop they also had a fair share merch sales and concerts around. Their music is usually preferred in SK, they even had the song that were meant to release in 4th-quarter of their contracts (obv before termination) back to the innocent cooncept as what SK usually preferred. Pretty sure at the time of Labyrinth Trilogy releases they broke their record for album sales, while Mago for international charts.
I honestly thought the switch from Navillera to Fingertap was just them to show more what they have instead of being one dimensional to one concept, but I'd honestly preferred it wayy later (lateee 2017 perhaps) after Rainbow Repackage

even though gfriend seemed stagnant, source music just couldnt afford to pay newjeans training (ador wasnt even created yet) and acquired well know idols which are sakura + chaewon while still having to pay gfriend daily operations. if hybe didnt force to debut lsrfm, i think gfriend can still exist until now
