Re: Park Bom's so-called "drug scandal", it was so bogus as the drugs in question were a prescription medicatiion (adderal) which was completely legal in the US (and which Bom was taking legitimately) but in Korea was banned because of certain ingredients (which Park Bom did not realise). The press tried to make out that she was some sort of illegal drug addict when she was anything but, it was an innocent mistake but YG didn't defend Park Bom because she was reaching 30 years old and the company was looking for excuses to get rid of its older idols. Because of this (half the groups members nearing 30), it was never YG's intention to keep 2NE1 going forever regardless of what happened; whilst there are cases of male kpop idols having active careers well into their 30s, this is almost unheard of for female artists in the industry. Whilst 2NE1 was wildly successful, YG is ultimately a very formulaic and traditional idol company, being reluctant to renew contracts with more mature female artists and often getting rid of older ones by ceasing to promote and defend them. As a consequence, rather than seeing Park Boms " drug scandal" as a huge issue for the company, they saw it as a blessing in disguise because it gave them a reason to get rid of Bom without looking like the bad guys. Re: Minzy being the "rebellious" one, I don't think that's a fair accusation. Minzi joined 2NE1 when she was 15 and despite having a very feminine identity (she loved to wear long skirts, wear long hair and sing soft love songs Etc), the company made her adopt an incredibly tomboyish style and persona in the group. Minzy hoped to migrate away from this false identity but instead of allowing her to be herself, YG forced her to stay with the short hair tomboy look. On top of this, Minzy also felt creatively stunted in YG and as the years rolled by she started to realize that the only way she was going to get an chance to express herself more truly whilst still in her 20s was to be more confrontal towards YG. Does this really make Minzy "rebellious", when the reality is that YG forced her to rebel by putting her in a position where they made her spend all her prime idol years being someone who was the complete opposite of herself in every way and preventing her from having any freedom outside of 2NE1 in case it broke that illusion? I don't think so.

So basically YG screwed 2NE1 and used the drug scandals as an excuse to end the group, meanwhile YG already had a replacement group before 2NE1 actually disbanded. I’ll always be a fan of 2NE1, they are such a talented group and fun to watch, even when the group does solo work, I’ll listen to their music and all of them are really good.

mhj was going to work with soumu but she told CEO hybe she didn't want to work with soumu then she wanted to have her own agency then suddenly she took soumu's staff and trainees to ador (mhj's agency) then gfriend was disbanded the members didn't even know they were disbanded even they found out if they were disbanded through articles, soumu used to open trainees and some newjeans members became soumu trainees, so actually gfriend's sister was newjeans:)

What people don’t seem to understand is that, yes, Kpop has been “influenced” by western music, *but* within their music it’s always remained their culture, mannerisms, way of life and ideas. Despite them being behind the times by 10-15 years, within the music Kpop kept the vulgarity and nasty lyricism out of it. You can say it had some of it, but it most definitely didn’t take over the majority of Kpop like it’s doing today. And that is what majority of American music is and has been. In fact, so many Kpop fans came here specifically to get away from the kind of lyrics, “dance” moves and outfits that consistently tell people they want to get laid and want to do it right now for the world to see by pretty much anyone. That kind of “openness” was not in Kpop and for good reason. Kpop also used more adult language, in that it spoke like you weren’t a child all the time. It was and is manufactured, but Kpop was Korean. It wasn’t just the lyrics or the influence. American music is influenced by many cultures but we know it’s American specifically because of how it acts. This is what’s ruining kpop in many ways and what will be its downfall. American culture itself has become the entire focal point and embedded its way into Korea and is slowly but quickly turning it into America. Which isn’t good for anyone. No one preys on little people much like kpop idols do as they intentionally gather in children only to turn around and let it all hang loose.

I love BTS even though they are 3rd Generation who help pave the way, BTS are Legends, but the only 4th Generation Kpop Boyz I do like Is Enhypen & Stray Kids for me they are very popular and big right now, and I like their music especially Enhypen songs.

The girl groups are for kids and dirty old men.

BTS paved the way for these groups to show their talent in the States. I have listened to other groups, however it's BTS that hold my interest and they have surpassed the KPop genre. The world will see their peak and 2nd chapter in 2025. BTS set the bar high and no other group has come close to reaching them.

Why are you comparing Le sserafim to Blackpink, they're both too talented girl groups you don't need to compare them, and you can't compare Le sserafim to blackpink they're not even on their level, I love both group passionately but don't be trying to downplay blackpink success cuz in the end if it wasn't for blackpink and BTS people wouldn't even be aware of K-pop they were the two groups that made kpop blow up worldwide and twice was the third if it wasn't for blackpink and BTS existence no one will even be giving Le sserafim glance, no shade to the girls they are extremely talented but don't act like blackpink did not work hard and earn their success they are hard-working women they're not always going to be energetic or have the energy you can't compare these girls who are basically teenagers and blackpink are grown women who are pretty much are in their late 20s and they're not machines they're human they can't always bounce back as fast as they used to so of course they're going to show fatigue in concerts, but you can also see the effort in their performance when they try so hard to give their all especially when they're exhausted, they do their best to give their all for their fans but when they're not feeling it it doesn't mean that they're lazy and that they're not trying it's just their human and not machines, they just probably are just genuinely tired, and it's rude that you are comparing these grown women today's teenage girls, Le sserafim still have a long way to go so don't compare.

Lesserafim can't even sing!!! They are more like dancers! Ik we can see blackpink loosing pasion in the career but there are way more better groups like twice,mamamoo,gidle who deserve that popularity blackpink has! I am not saying lesserafim is worst but definately not deserving this much popularity they should focus on the stable vocal training first!

I don't like the word "deserve" here, if someone wants the same popularity, they should earn it, not keep telling people they deserve something. I love Blackpink but in truth so many other groups deserve to be as popular. the industry is full of ultra-talented idols, many of whom are as talented or even more talented than the members of Blackpink. Life is such that not everyone has the same luck. but you just need to find the right agency, have the right songs, the right promotion or simply the right era. many 2nd generation groups could have been Blackpink if they had made their debut a little later Mamamoo, SISTAR, GIRLS DAY, 2NE1. the thing is that now a lot of groups have the potential to do much better than blackpink because it's the right time, kpop is ultra popular and several groups like IVE, NEW JEANS, AESPA or (G)IDLE already have some records and achievement that Blackpink will never have. LESSERAFIM also has enormous potential.

Even if bp are better than le sserafim in vocals (I don’t think they r, it’s not like bp perform any high notes ) .. the thing is that le sserafim overall perform way better than bp .. and I felt let down by their ‘latest comeback’ (which was like 2 yrs ago)

Not only le seerafirm every group deserve the same amount of love from people like Blackpink and Bts does but they will need some time bp and bts didn't get that love overnight they worked hard everyday for no. of years for that....one thing is for sure the more hard work you put the more love you receive ❤ I do like le seerafirm concept and songs....it matches with my vibe and prefer their song above many ggroups❤

I dont think le sserafim is the 4th gen group that could possibly equal to bp's popularity when it comes to 4th gen... there were other girl groups who actually competes and sometimes are even better than le sserafim... itzy, aespa, (g)i-dle, ive and new jeans are example of groups that have the potential to gaining popularity near if not equal to bp's popularity... and most of these groups mentioned were able to perform live with vocal stability...
