It would have been a bit more realistic/plausible if he at least had the 15-round single stack stick magazines for the 1911A1. I had an old one that fed my 230 gr. RN FMJ handloads well, but not the 200 gr. lead SWC’s.
But of course we all know that this is not an accurate representation of the 45 caliber bullet, it actually takes them off their feet and sends them back about 3 feet and rips a 75 caliber hole in them and breaks any bone it hits in half.
It can if you bought a 1911 with a double stack magazine capacity. They've been available since 1990 in various calibers since Canada's Para-Ordnance introduced them. Course some states limit you to 10 bullets per mag.
Do you see, the barrel is fat in front and the magazine is not 45, lock 38 super is not to, YES IS 9mm man. Lt. Marion 'Cobra' Cobretti (Sylvester Stallone) carries a special order Gold Cup built by Colt in 9mm for Stembridge Gun Rental as his sidearm throughout the film. Thanks goes to Phoenixent for the info.
It is the normal configuation for barrels for series 70 9mm and .38 Supers calibers. Much olders .38 supers had very thick barrels but all along the barrel, later they have a thinner barrel (pre-series 70), and in series 70 have a thick barrel in front and the rest of the barrel were thin (like you said). It was for the collect bushing series 70 use to had. Forgive my bad English.
9mm handguns are easier to adapt to operation with blanks. There is a restriction device inside the barrel to build pressure and create enough recoil from blanks to function the slide with reduced strength recoil and hammer springs. The lower operating pressure and larger bore volume of a .45 caliber handgun makes it difficult, if not impossible, to get semi-auto function using theatrical blanks.
The 45 blanks were terrible. Never let the gun function reliably. So even though all the guns were supposed to be "45 ACP" they were 9's because those blanks ran flawlessly. Hollywood mojo.
I very rarely seen movies portray the 1911 very well. Most of them never have the hammer back or they have infinite ammo. Only a few films seem to really get it right and not entirely most of the time.
Surprised how many old movies didn’t have them commercially die, and actually had it be a little realistic, the boat one looked much less fake then I expected
I don't think the modern polymer framed pistols such as Glocks, SIGs, etc will last the test of time of a steel framed Colt 1911 or a steel framed Beretta 92, or even the Colt 1873/76 Peacemaker, or Webley 1887 revolver, Mauser C96, etc, all of which are still going strong after at least 100 years.
y yahorrrrrra mismo there was a fantastic film with Bruce WiIlis and Chris Walken which had the most realistic use of firing and reloading the Colt 1911 in a combat situation and was literally the star weapon of the film....name???????????
Don't forget about these movies; 3,000 MILES TO GRACELAND. BAND OF BROTHERS. BILLY BATHGATE. CAPTAIN AMERICA. CASABLANCA. DEADLY FORCE. FACE OFF. FLIGHT OF THE INTRUDER. THE GETAWAY. GOODFELLAS. Now Ill tell you Powers Booth is a Bad Ass . But that is far too much dialogue. After Judge Colt . Barks . Hollywood Just cant comprehend the equation of E=Mc 2
Yea..i know its a movie...a bunch of them do this..its kinda funny...but yea 1911's dont have 30 round mags..ive seen 10, 15, and 40 round drums...sure obama would have a cow if he seen one of those...
haha u forgot to read the title. it says in the movies. there is a thirty round mag but u would see it hanging out of the pistol. and obama don't like those.sux.
I’ve been trying to find me one of those 1911’s 30 rounds mag like some of these guys in the movie :)
It's called the 2011 frame.
They dont work for shit. Just carry 2 more spare regular mags.
Ahh yes a flush fit 30 round 1911 magazine
It would have been a bit more realistic/plausible if he at least had the 15-round single stack stick magazines for the 1911A1. I had an old one that fed my 230 gr. RN FMJ handloads well, but not the 200 gr. lead SWC’s.
Ahahahaha
1911s and mullets in 80s movies go together like beans n franks
Indeed indeed!
The 1911 used by Texas Ranger Roland Sharp in "Man of the house" was Tommy Lee Jones' personal handgun.
3:11 when he inserts a loaded magazine, charges the weapon with his finger wrapped around the trigger. Ahahahaah.
That's actually ok, the disconnector locks out the trigger from the sear in that scenario.
WOW...Nick Nolte done a slide lock reload....sweet!
But of course we all know that this is not an accurate representation of the 45 caliber bullet, it actually takes them off their feet and sends them back about 3 feet and rips a 75 caliber hole in them and breaks any bone it hits in half.
I love the 1911 the way it looks and the way when the slide locks to the back.
@Jack Bauman You can't beat an American classic.
@Jack Bauman Good luck with that lol.
All semi autos do that
@@noahm6261 and where do you think they all got that idea from? There's a reason it's called the grandfather of the semi automatic
Almost all semi autos lock back on empty. A few don't.
Guy: "this is a hold up!!!"
Me: "is that a 1911?"
god bless the 1911.
RIP John Moses Browning.
Extreme prejudice was an awesome film
I love that it's in Spanish, makes it feel like a .38 super
I hear Segall uses a Makarov now.
For some reason every video game gives the 1911 amazing stats, even for some games where it’s the starter gun
1:34 holy crap he reloads!
Must have been a extended magazine. He shoots 16 times without reloading again 😂
Segal owns something like 25 1911 pistols in real life.
studinthemaking Where did he get the 31 shot magazine?
from your mom
For 1911 show, Please watch "Last Man Standing" Bruce Willis.. :)
Remake of "for a few dollars more" reset in depression texas. Willis rocks his 1911s.
Love All My 1911 Pistols! The Great Ones Are Fantastic!! I enjoyed your Video….. Thank-you! :) 🤠👍🇺🇸👏⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. B9USA Sr.
Good vid. Notice how in the movies the .45acp has no kick, even one handed:) I guess that's how they never miss even with moving targets.
Recoil.
1911s and chrome revolvers, palm trees, sun, and beaches. Good times.

niko`s 1911 had 100 round magazine
Pulp Fiction, Dead Presidents, The Punisher, Resident Evil Apocalypse and both Hitman films as well.
Anyone have the list of movies?
Seagal had special triple stack magazines by the look of it! Ever run out of ammo!🤣

I always wondered. If you must have 9mm and want a 1911 type gun, why not an HP 35? A Novak Hi Power was the gold standard for 9mm autos in the 80s.
@@floydvaughn836 because they want a 1911 in 9mm

9mm 1911's were used frequently because the .45s of the time had trouble cycling blanks.
Can you tell me name of movie 2:30-5:00 ?
Extreme Prejudice (1987)
What movie is the one with the texas rangers cowboys
Extreme Prejudice, Nick Nolte plays Texas Ranger Jack Benteene. Really cool movie. Love the matching trouser belt and gun belt.
Facts I want to know too
4:32 unrealistic..... he shot a few times before this scene without reloading but still manage to unload 8 rounds on that guy.... What movie is this?
Please tell me the titles of 2:14 and 2:20 movies!
2:14 is Steven segal above the law and 2:20 is extreme prejudice
Josh Marshall
thanks🙏
7:28 to 7:36 COBRA. Sylvester Stallone Colt 1911 Gold Cup in 9mm ( Special Order )
How do you figure it's a 9mm?

“Mira mira, es el Steven Segal y tiene un 1911 muy kick ass!

That rusty one?
Whats the tittle of the movie in 2:22 please
That's what I want to know too.
Extreme Prejudice
Extreme prejudice FTW!!!!!
Nolte never looked better. Absolutely handsome.
Anyone know the movie at 3:30?
Yes same movie as at 3:06 it's called extreme prejudice
Bắn súng cái kiểu này 1:09
2:31 That poor bastard.
I counted 14 shots from 1:35 to 2:11 from steven seagal... lol...wish my 1911 shot that many times without a reload....
So glad somebody else noticed that.

I just picked up my first one Remington R one
0:13 that was so weird lol just runs right up to him after shooting him like oh hey bro
the movie at 1:05 please..
Above the law
gonzaullas thanks
Was that Sidney Poitier in the first segment? I never knew Sidney ever played a bad guy. But was he the bad guy in that first piece?
No, he and Tom Berenger were the heroes, Clancy Brown (with the 1911) was the villain.
Just reminds me of how many actors have no actual experience with guns
timestamps?
2:33 i wrote tha on a story and i havent seen that scene.nick rocks
How did Segal fit all of those rounds in an 8 round mag? Lol
He did reload a couple of times....prolly a 7 round mag tbh
the first clip has Mr. Crabs in it from spongebob XD
Chris Wyatt shoot to kill is the movie. He’s such an incredible talent. Clancy Brown is his name.
Some of these actors can not field strip their weapons it is so funny. They are wiping down their 1911A1 or rifles with mags in them? Dumb

The Beretta 92 is aluminum-framed (except for the unusual variants), but I get what you're saying.
7:40min to the end is the best part imho.
Racks 1911.....hammers not cocked......
A history of violence was a very good movie. Should check it out.

Sly Stallone speaks Mexican much better than his English.... Very surprised.
Who else searched this up because they just bought a 1911?
can anyone else understand them , I may have gotten too high
Terri Williams pop
This movie clip came out before Gran Torino. Since then, Clint handled that 1951 Colt Government Issue like a .44 mag. Ohh-Rah....
they usually never recoil correct & sumtime no action even
Realmente muy lindo, muy buena idea.
Cobra 🐍’s 1911 was a 9mm not even a 45acp , the things we learn 35yrs later 😆
