- Imagine if we all made reasonable offers to the guys trying to sell the old slot cars for way too much than the market will bare...I bet they might start to got the message.

Great Video. It is unbelievable what some people think their cars are worth. They either have stars in their eyes or are just uneducated on current real values. Have fun doing the scenery on your layout, that's one of my favorite things to do.

My brother, thank you for this video me and my brother got our my first set in 75. Move to Jersey in 76 and played with my buddies until senior year of 1982. By my Sophomore, we had graduated from a track on the floor to a pool table official size ping-pong table and a card table to lay the track on. We put a piece of paneling on the pool table if you're curious. we had several nights where we would be spending up to 2 to 3 hours fixing the cars and doing maybe 30 minutes of racing if that .we treated garage and testing night just that and that was it. We had just as much fun fixing cars.👍🏾

Hi Jeff, love your videos. You show a deep passion for our hobby. Looks like you are doing great with the candy colored bodies very informative and I am in total agreement with you and the other commenters. Many eBay sellers are either just too damn greedy or misinformed about values. Now that eBay collects tax. I will very rarely buy anything anymore. Buying an overpriced item and then being insulted with tax is ridiculous. I buy most of my items at slot car meets these days.
Your books would probably sell well at Slot car meets.
I saw a recent video of yours about the various types of trailers and just wanted to know if they are available from the manufacturer right now or will they be available in the future?

Sounds like eBay. Sellers copying what other sellers do and most of them are clueless so it just snowballs. Everything is "rare" and "hard to find" even if it is ridiculously common. Intended to reply to steamboat willie but this wound up a stand alone comment.

It looks to me like the chrome front bumper in your AFX lot is from a Datsun 510, which is good since they often fall off and are missing that piece when found. The pink Willys is probably better off being made into a runner as you have done. From what I remember it may have had some issue on the rear bumper, which could have steered some serious collectors away from buying it.

I personaly do not collect them, I play with them. I paint them decal them etc and race them against the clock. The prices have gotten silly. There are so many of these cars that they are not rare. I would be interested in the Buick. What would you want for it.

A lot of the watchers [Including me'] are just watching to see if someone's dumb enough to pay those prices. Also many collections are becoming available.....dropping prices. FB alone has many multiple Auctions every night.
