i didnt know about the az1 being a c chassis! but i think az1s have mcpherson on the back and i think all c chassis have a solid chassis in the back? lot of cars i liked on the episode! that early dashboard is pretty close to the early mk2 swift dashboard this was one of your best vids, the commentary and all, top notch 4:00 that early c chassis is my favourite alto, that one has a skyline rs turbo livery lol ps: i just realized why the ABC's are called that... in 2022, ive been liking kei cars since gran turismo 2 came out
Az-1 isn't actually a c-chassis.... but it uses a lot of c-chassis parts... So... It kinda is... Az-1 has McPherson on the back. You're right. No Alto has that. Same way no az-1 has the engine in the front.
i had no idea there were all these names for the different chassis. it would be amazing if he did a sit down video explaining all of it because i have a 1993 alto works and i’m really interested to know about it.
Man I think the Alto Works deserves much recognition in the JDM scene, though that would mean it'd be out of my budget everytime one shows up! There's a very beat-up CC72 RS-R that i've seen around here (the Philippines) which had stock everything but has the legendary F5A twin-cam turbo swapped out with a carburetor F6A SOHC(which happens to everything Suzuki here back when mechanics know jack shit about them) and I want to have it someday. I don't think it deserves to rot away like that. Also I think I've seen a car like the one in 11:23 here parked outside an auto shop, painted in a very bad blue paintjob. Always thought it was a four-door Alto Works because it has the dual wing on the back of the later C-series. Are they really that rare? Thanks for bringing us this kind of kei content!
It isn't the four-door Alto that is rare. It's the Regina spec. (The bench seat and column shift auto) because they didn't do it for very long. Adding and subtracting wings isn't very difficult. Even changing the face from brick headlights to round headlights isn't that difficult. And evidently even changing the dash and engine isn't that difficult. Personally, if I built that car you mentioned, the way they did it, I would have made the single cam turbo work with the OEM Dash. Thanks for watching!
The RS-Turbo style livery on the CA72V; have you ever seen the silver Cx11V in the same style? I have it on my wall, but the pictures were low res from an old goo-net or similar ad Have you seen fender mirrors on them before
No, I haven't seen that. I haven't been through ANY of the k-car special magazines yet. Fender mirrors.... Ummm.... I don't remember... Maybe not on a 3rd gen alto CL~CS..... Not yet. I imagine it's been done....
i just picked up a '97 F Limited with a Racing Hammer Body Kit! It's super cute with the "angry eyes" would love to know more about its history on its model.
@@GarageKei Mr. Kei! I been looking into getting a HKS BOV for my Alto! Would you ever upload a video talking about them and how to install? Any links to how to install one would be much appreciated!! or any recommendations!
Az-1 is not built on a c-chassis. The Az1 body is completely different. I was saying a lot of the critical components are from Alto and that the az-1 would not exist without it. That's all.
how the hell can you tell buy the shifter and the dash i would love a how to tell gide / history about them the options and parts, but if not i learn something every video
@@jonmarshall1502 I'm not sure about that. Like it's a standard Japanese car smell but you can't achieve it by only buying one smell. I'm not dissing it. I actually like "THE AROMA" but yea.
Fantastic Kei selection👍
Love that you were geeking out as much as I would have haha. Clock gang!
Clock gang!!! That's sequential shifter though..... I got something rarer than the clock..

Cool that you were telling a story though it.
I really wasn't sure I should have done that. Glad I made the right choice in your eyes. Glad you enjoyed it.
@@GarageKei definitely a good choice!
Hell yeah, love the alto content!!
Glad to hear it!
Thanks for watching

So much awesomeness in this video 🤘 imagine sync shifting in this thing 🤣 so cool.

Congratulations. That sounds like an H chassis to me. Check out the H-hassis video I did and it might answer a few of your questions.

Fire cars, AZ1 bois crying rn
Thanks. Hope not....
Are there others cars build on the C chassis or just the az1 and alto?
the fronte since its a 4 seat alto and i guess the cervo must be another one

Some Cervo ARE C-chassis CG72V/CH72V/CN21S/CP21S/CP22S/CP31S/CP32S some of those are very very close to their Alto sisters.
@@GarageKei yeah, i meant the ones that were the passenger version of the alto, so up until the early 90s

That's a fantastic idea for a video. I'll have to reuse footage. But I'll see if I can get it done for you as fast as possible!
@@GarageKei thank you. also im guessing you do know but have you herd of score magazine ?
I am aware of Score, yes. the cappuccino group.
what's the one at 1:44 called
I think that's a cervo
Some of these mint little cars would look good parked in my garage. Just saying.
Me too 🤣🤣
What’s classic Japanese “aroma” ? 😂
The entire car perfume aisle at autobacs
