Thank you. This is the exact choice I'm considering. I was especially keen to see how big they seem physically side-by-side. I'm hesitant to let go of my starter machine, a Bambino Plus, because it is such a compact little countertop appliance. Both of these machines seem like viable ways to get more influence over the extraction without killing my kitchen with a giant chromed-out monster. I like that the Decent has options to install it in the countertop and plumb it in.
Give this man a thumbs up, I like how you structured and compared their features. apart from that, your aesthetic choices particularly the purple are absolutely snatched.
Nice review man it's awesome to see these machines head to head as it gives more perspective and angle of attack when it comes to improving things on Gaggiuino. P.S. Should have updated to latest release for Gaggiuino though as there's an update specifically targeting better temperature stability.
Nice video! 👍 keep it up! Also an unsolicited tip from a no one; try comparing using a single origin espresso if you can and tap to settle the grounds after removing the WDT so you don’t leave any holes when you tamp Cheers!
Indeed, they both just sound absolutely terrible compared to a rotary pump - but I gather at least in the case of the Decent its because rotary pumps are too slow to do micro adjustments to keep up with the desired profile. Not sure if that is the case for the Gaggia but at that price point you certainly are never going to get a rotary pump.
I think the water destribution of the gaggia can be improved by a Bit with an IMS showerscreen. I find it also crazy what the Gaggiuno can do compared to way more expensive Machines
Thanks for posting this video, im awaiting parts for my gagguino as im a big fan of modding in general. Its nice to know there is some differences between the two machines given the huge difference on price.
I have really enjoyed the video, thanks man, great comparison head to head. Started feeling more proud about my new Gaggia classic evo, about to mod it like your's + I am thinking of adding a joystick style steam valve. The stock one is not that good, leaks out of box. Looking forward for more videos. Good luck man!
Very interesting! I have a Gagguino so extra fun to watch. Thehe cup variation can be really high with a 50/50 blend like that, so that can really add to the difference, especially with just 1 cup of each. The random variation of how much of each origin you get in a 19g dose can be quite high, as you probably know. Was the blend Kenya/Costa rica, both washed? I think some beans looked like natural processed. Anyway, really looking forward to the in depth video! Thanks!
What is is thats making the noise on both of those? I haven't heard that sound before, but usually these videos are heavily edited so, i don't get to hear the actual raw sound coming from them.
very cool. this is the first vid i have seen comparing the two. i noticed even after using that distribution tool there were still multiple streams emerging and on the decent 2 streams did not converge into one.
Great content. I've considered the Decent and then have been watching videos about the Gagguino. To add more confusion to the mix, I also started looking at the Meticulous. Any thoughts on that one?
Was it hard to tap the Gaggiuino wiring into the new block connectors inside the classic evo ? What was your process as i am getting ready to do the same mod - Thanks
In my 13 years of experimenting with coffee I find that the boiler quality and the group metal quality influences a shot significantly. My advice is this. Take a shot of empty water from each machine. Then taste the water. You will find a difference. The water out of a stainless steel boiler is brighter. The water out of a brass or copper boiler will be sweeter. The water out of an aluminium boiler will be bit earthy. So the boiler is influencing the result. @Getsitdone I think the Gaggia classic evo pro is the best bet newest model. I got mine from Whole Latte Love it was on sale a well. Stand I made myself
19 gm in 50ml out how the f*@k is that an espresso?? lol Thats a Luango also if your using a puck screen the dispersion plate won't make a difference but the temperature stability will!
If you're gonna make (incorrect) comments like this can you at least make sure to not misspell shit? Lungo. You're trying to say Lungo. And no, a 2.6 ratio isn't firmly in the lungo category.

What steam wand are you using on the gaggia?
keen to know aswell cheers
I think He wrote one another Video that it's the cooltouch wand from Ferrari Espresso
Came for the same question
and steam tip?
Maybe the "Ferrari" wand? What ya'll think?

Will do the update now
The Gaggia steam wand you upgraded looks really nice, would you share how your did it
Thanks. Looking into Gaggiuino. Regret buying Breville

I was thinking the same but the shot with bottomless portafilter and no channeling speaks for itself
Gees they both make quite a lot of a racket

Can you share the gagguuno profile settings you used here?
I like the comparison. I have a gaggiuino and a la marzocco lines micra side by side at the moment.
Do it! Post a video side by side. Would like to see it.
If you do have a thermometer in each cup to make them be equal temps when tasting.
How do they compare? Do tell
I think the water destribution of the gaggia can be improved by a Bit with an IMS showerscreen.
I find it also crazy what the Gaggiuno can do compared to way more expensive Machines
I agree. And the Gaggia shot looked better than the decent... Also, a puck screen helps a lot as well.
I got the IMS shower screen and it was terrible. Stock is much better 2022 machine.
why do you think the IMS screen is terrible? @@naps1saps
Agree, the stock showed is better, but the Puck screen really makes a difference
@@naps1saps Yes, IMS shower screen doesn't work well for me, Gaggia original gives me steady rain drops, IMS gives irregular water beams.
Thanks for taking the time to make this!
Definitely making me lean towards building a gagguino with a used machine vs getting a rancilio used to modify.
Did you build it? I would also consider the heating time...
How did we account for sensory effects of both brewing and drinking, these compsrisons? Lets blind test
Thanks for posting this video, im awaiting parts for my gagguino as im a big fan of modding in general. Its nice to know there is some differences between the two machines given the huge difference on price.
Decent video of a decent espresso machine, that makes a decent coffee!
Wouldn't be the main problem for the gaggia the cool down time after steaming to make another shot?
What wand is that on the gaggia ? Also how difficult was the mod ?

I'm new to the espresso world. What is a Gaggiuino Classic Evo Pro and how is that different to a GaggiaClassic Evo Pro?
@@tgross472the gagguino is the name for the machine after a series of modifications for the Gaggia classic machine
Great video. Is there a plan to come up with a better resolution screen for the gagguino? That is where the two are chalk and cheese.
I didn't install it yet, but AFAIK you are free to install bigger one
yes there is different screen integration imminent
what portafilter are you using on your gaggia classic pro evo

Meticulous does not have steam so thats an esspresso machine only. But none the less a pretty cool machine.
Why such a low temp? I thought 93c was optimal? That's what I use on my La Marzocco. 20g in 40g out. 9 bar.
Entirely depends on the coffee. There is no ‘optimal’ temperature.
Please you have to tell us where you bought this steam wand at. I see you have another comment wanting the same thing😂😂

I was not hard just took some extra time I removed the blocks and used heat shrink tubing just make sure to label everything.
@decentcoffeeeveryday
This. I'm no electrician but I take a copious amount of pics and/or video so it's dummy proof to put it back together.
Do the Gagguinos make a Rancilio Silvio version?
Not sure officially, but people have installed the mod on a Silvia
Can you share the installation guide? I have a Classoc Evo Pro and I'm stuck

I really like your puck prep equipment. You mentioned Norm core distribution tool. What tamper are you using? Thanks.
I use the Pullman Big Step tamper, and I really like it.
Is it normal your group head keeps dripping on the Gaggia?
Yes that's pressure release as it heats for consistency
what basket are you using?
In that video I was using the Pullman876 19-22g dosing 19 grams
@@decentcoffeeeveryday thanks for the answer and the reply, u made me just consider this mod and I will do it, thank you
Hoy many Oz of milk do you used? 😅
Cup is 10.55oz and the shot usually is 1-2oz the rest is milk so about 8.5oz of milk.
Is it possible to get that profile for the Gaggiuino or a link to the profile?
I just do a fast pre-infusion 4mls until 2.5bar pressure then just a 9bar decline to 4bar in 55s you can change all the setting on the Gaggiuino

Great point I do find my Silvia to have sweeter cups with the brass boiler
You set a strange shot there, up to 6 bar only then taper off at 5...
I threw Sister Margret Mary's bell on the roof.
I can tell u the different , it is the decent firmware is only by 1 person who’re not really into coffee. 😂. Excellent video sharing 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

donde puedo comprar el sistema gaudino en colombia?
Nos toca comprar la maquina y todas las partes por aliespress
@ yo la máquina ya la tengo pero hacer la instalación del sistema si me parece dificil
Why does all these profile machines sound like broken car? It sounds horrible.
Vibration pump powered on through a dimmer and software skips cycles of pump operation to get specific pressure or flow

That’s like a 1:2.6 ratio which is common for light-medium beans some beans even pull nicely at a 1:3-1:3.5
