Ford did a great job building a truck you can drive off the dealer lot and immediately take up into the mountains and start wheeling. Plenty of RUclipsrs have shown that. I'm impressed!
When folding down the rear seats on the 2-door Bronco, you need to flip up the rear seat cushions first before you flip down the rear seat backs. This allows the seat backs to lay down further.

So "noise" is depending on your perception and the vehicle you are comparing. My guess is you are a Jeep fan. I liked your review despite not agreeing on your every point. And your explanation of goat modes was excellent.
According to many RUclips reviews I've watched, where Bronco exceeds its competition the most is in high speed off-roading in Baja and mud-n-ruts type terrain. Some of the early ride-along reviews at King of the Hammers and Moab demonstrated that. Both Wrangler and 4Runner owners who did ride-alongs commented on how much better Bronco (with advanced HOSS suspension) rode on such terrain than their vehicles. I suspect Bronco inherited at least some of that capability from the Raptor.
@@invasion1824 it depends on what kind of ride you want everyday when you aren’t driving on the trails. The Sasquatch package is good all around. Check out Lite Brite RUclips channel. They have been driving around a Wrangler JL with a Hellcat swap for several years and just got a Bronco. There are pros and cons to both. As you stated the Bronco’s IFS will provide more comfort going fast, as well as on road. If you think you might get into more extreme rock crawling then go Wrangler. Hopefully you can test drive both and see which fits into your life best.
Your review of this vehicle is hysterical. You review it like a Mercedes AMG, instead of the vehicle that it truly is. I will never waste my time on you again!
The two door really is impractical for a family but is good for a young person (who has 50k to spend!) lol That being said, it’s a sharp looking vehicle, that is very capable. Nice review as always
If your kids are old enough to buckle their own carseats the 2dr is fine for 4ppl. A CJ7/YJ fit 4 and 1 of the front seats didn't even slide forward. I see families of 5+ riding 50cc mopeds in other countries. We westerners are spoiled.
What's on the other side ... more vine maple, devil's club, alder, ferns, fireweed, and rocks! So good to see a test drive on PNW forest roads. Can't wait to see the comparison to 4Runner.
Fantastic review, and although I am not a potential buyer of a Bronco (maybe if I move to the PNW and live up in the mountains), I am seriously impressed with this vehicle's capabilities. Ford really did their homework, and the design is great (although if I was to get one, it would have to be a 4-door)--let's hope it ends up being reliable. Good job, Ford!
We're starting to see these in my area now. As a Wrangler fan, the new Bronco is a nicer-looking vehicle outside, IMO. I'm still getting a Wrangler though. The aftermarket support is much better. Cargo space can be enlarged with hitch racks, spare tire racks, roof racks, etc. I can fit a family of 4 into a Crosstrek, or even a CJ7/YJ/TJ, for cross-continent camping trips, no problem.
First person I've heard that thought opening the rear gate was difficult . Most rave about the different positions and the fact it opens really wide . The rear seat bottoms are supposed to be flipped up first before folding the backs down so it gives a more flat cargo space . Also you say it's really loud and not good at all on the freeway but compared to what ? It's certainly better than what it is competing against , the Wrangler . Also the camera does have guide lines and stop getting out to check clearance around the vehicle , the 360 cameras birds eye view would do that for you ,LOL . Oh , you also complain about getting 16-17MPG but you are constantly hammering on it in the video keeping it in boost ;)
Loud compared to any vehicle I’ve ever driven including the Jeep Wrangler. In the video you can see the back gate spring back at me. It’s annoying. Might just be an issue with the sample they sent us, but it was a real neusince. Never trust a camera when driving someone else’s vehicle. And cameras don’t verify clearance. In our next video we found the tracking lines.
As a recent 4Runner buyer I'm curious to see your comparison! Crazy how little cargo space you get with the 2 door. Those folding seats are embarrassing! I'm sure you can remove them though.
@@lthemanl sure if you have no need for back seats you can definitely do that. I had such an arrangement for my old Focus hatch when I didn’t use the seats, but the floor of the vehicle wasn’t level in itself and was a bit cumbersome either way. Not sure if the Bronco’s floor is similarly contoured.
The simple fact that when you're off roading and all you hear is beeping from the dash would be the reason I wouldn't buy it and yes maybe you can turn that stuff off but that was the reason I ditched my ranger and went back to jeep. I was simply on offroad trails and the thing wouldn't stop beeping because I got too close to an object in the path it drove me nuts. Jeep for the win in my opinion
Yes!! The 2 door! About dang time lol. After watching this review, I love the Bronco. I am more apt to get the jeep 4xe. I off-road often. But the electric motor of the 4xe would be good for around town or getting to the trail. However, I love the Bronco.
@@J.Young808 I follow TFL. Their review got me liking the 4xe. I love Jeeps, just not for road driving. I can't afford a dedicated rig for off-road. But the 4xe kind of has some appeal with that highbred option.
35:31 Never thought this day would come when you preferred the Jeep over another off-roader, I may be biased but I also agree with you. Great review by the way.
Great videos. That trail is my quick go to if I just want to get out. I live in North Bend. You know another good spot to test a vehicles suspension for G-outs is the North fork. Really just rutted out high speed but that could be a good place just before National forest that can see what the bump stops feel like. I posted this in your other video but when you tested the Colorado and slide that snow hill I did the same thing in that spot. The snow here gets so dense then froze/ unfrozen till it turns to a skating ring.
People who don't have a long commute. I used to live 5 minutes from work. I could walk a direct route in 10. My Jeep YJ was great for not needing to shovel my parking spot. Now that I commute 50 miles, I drive a Crosstrek that can get 35-40MPG.
I’d love to see your 4Runner at that creek. It already has skid plates under the front end, transfer, and and gas. What I like that over the Jeep is that it seems to have more interior room both 2 and 4 door. But I may be wrong.
They should put 3.5 ecoboost and 5l n/a or ss options for raptor add 3l for those "reste kind" with manual option for Everyone... older 6 speed or something could be like a bullet proof 5 speed ranger (with a police pac ratio sauvage)🤷even Its could be already old its better than nothing
Use Sport mode for launches! Look up trail turn assist! :) It will spin on a dime, no more 3 point turns. You can also use the front locker without engaging the rear. Makes for better turn radius off road.
On the 2nd gen (besides having a raptor version) they'll fix those back seats, the 2 Dr jeep seems to have more room. Hopefully the competition will force them to reduce the crazy prices...
Ford did a great job with the Bronco but there’s definitely enough differentiation between it and the Ranger, size being one. Curious to see which direction the FJ will go if Toyota builds it.
I'll wait until they release the Bronco 2dr Max... a lil longer wheel base is a sacrifice I'd be willing to make for extra cargo room. If the Raptor will only be in a 4dr, Ford can give us something special for the 2dr.
Awesome video! Off topic, looks like this was filmed when there was smoke in the sky. The sunlight looks almost reddish, I really noticed it with the GoPro footage of the wheel.
I’m sure there are dozens of videos answering this … but everyone I see a description of the 12” infotainment screen it’s always split … is there a setting so the screen is not split - can navigation utilize the entire screen if desired? Great video - thank you. Day one Wildtrak 4dr Lux Leather etc … waiting til 22 thanks to the hardtop!
How's the ride quality on the road with the 35's? Not relating to noise but does it ride smooth? How's the steering? does it wander? Thanks. Great video
Ryan, good video. After driving the Bronco, would the most capable 4Runner stand a chance against this? I don't know how tall you are (I am 6'2") but was the leg room enough for you? Looking forward to your comparison video & will you be reviewing the 2022 4Runner (TRD PRO?) soon?
I’m 6’1” and no complaints on legroom in front. In the most extreme situations the Bronco would be superior simply because you can fit larger tires without requiring a lift and the trick front sway bar disconnect is pretty useful for articulation. But I’d rate a 4R TRD ORP with KDSS pretty close.
This vehicle's capabilities are obviously far-far beyond almost anyone's psychological off-roading limits. And please don't complain about the fuel economy. It's 35" MT-s and lots of metal for God's sake!
Lol, with 35s you must have a pretty low psychological limit. Good for stock but far from a monster. Also with only 9" of travel it is good at speed, not amazing. 37s are a start but really 40s or 42s is where things get to that level.
In Europe there are 1 to sometimes 2 or 3 different turbo diesel variants of the exact same vehicles here in the US. The fact that automotive companies are even getting away with producing vehicles in this day and age that get this kind of fuel economy is just dumb and the fact that countless people still buy them just blows my mind. I'm sorry but I don't want to stop ever hour and half for gas. This is where the 4 Cylinder Wrangler really shines in comparison.
It's not a luxury vehicle so don't expect a nice interior. It's not a sports car so don't expect a fast acceleration. It's an offroader so expect rigidity and toughness. Its a $56,000 offroader, it's built for a certain type of person that looks for certain type of things. This broncos got em.
Why do reviewers focus on the negative aspect of a two door. People who buy the bronco have a choice. I don’t want a large food door because it’s only myself, wife and dog using it. I prefer the added off-road capabilities. Why don’t you just focus on the mechanical and electronic capabilities. I don’t care about electronic leather seats, but if I did want them I could have chosen Thema. So why make an obvious comment about the marine grade. Why not say this vehicle-was not specked that way but if you want x or y then just order it
Ford did a great job building a truck you can drive off the dealer lot and immediately take up into the mountains and start wheeling. Plenty of RUclipsrs have shown that. I'm impressed!

So if I’m looking to go off-roading on rocks and rivers should I still get the bronco or the rubicon?
THE MOMENT WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR!!!
Finally! I have been waiting for this review for a while. 17mpg on 35's? Thats actually not that bad.
Yep. People put 33s on a 4Runner and are lucky to get 17.
Can't wait to see the comparison to 4Runner.
out of all the reviews I've watched you are the only one that would not choose to own a bronco.
Great video. Great configuration. Really nice color.
Another comment pointed out that the rear seat bottoms flip up so the backs lay more flat and provide more room.
@@ALMX5DP Interesting......I feel like I'd just remove them. Depending on how hard it is.
I was waiting for this!!!
Watch TFL Offroad (I think) review of the Wrangler 4xe and how they offroad Ed in electric mode.
You should also watch Lite Brite (Y.T.) with them on the rubicon trail with the bronco. Spoiler. It does amazing.
@@J.Young808 I follow TFL. Their review got me liking the 4xe. I love Jeeps, just not for road driving. I can't afford a dedicated rig for off-road. But the 4xe kind of has some appeal with that highbred option.
don't expect to see many of these...
The 4xe Wrangler has a one pedal mode (max regen) as part of its hybrid setup. It also has off-road low speed cruise control.
We haven't had the 4xe yet. But good to know!
Me: Would you get a Porsche or a Ferrari?
Ryan: Neither, I drive a 4runner!
Comparing 4 runner with Porsche /ferrari
@@hotrod7603 ... that was a very "Internet Explorer" response... LOL!
This is great for someone who can afford a $50K weekend car. But who would buy this as a daily driver? BTW, great video. Best car reviews on YT.
I got into my dealer’s demo and the bronco is definitely bigger inside specially the width or in the area of shoulder room.
Great review, super curious about the Bronco and all the hype behind it. Now I want a Nacho Supreme :P
awesome video like usual... keep it up man....
Good review. Great info!
Thanks for the video. The manual tranny option is great but it’s only available with the smaller engine. Beautiful truck imho.
They should put 3.5 ecoboost and 5l n/a or ss options for raptor add 3l for those "reste kind" with manual option for Everyone... older 6 speed or something could be like a bullet proof 5 speed ranger (with a police pac ratio sauvage)🤷even Its could be already old its better than nothing
oh wow been waiting for this one!
The moment you said 17 MPG, I was like, thanks, no thanks!
The 2 door looks so much better than the 4 door.
What a treat!
Not that I'm in the market for a 4x4, just bought a 2014 GX 460 BUT I would 100% get a Bronco over a Wrangler.
Seats were folded down incorrectly. Yeah that handle wiggle seems to be an afterthought. Enjoyed the video.
I’ve been driving a Honda Element for 13 years, I’m not worried about cabin noise
Use Sport mode for launches! Look up trail turn assist! :) It will spin on a dime, no more 3 point turns. You can also use the front locker without engaging the rear. Makes for better turn radius off road.
We covered turn control extensively in our full review of the bronco.
@@drivingsports lol. I didn't see that one yet, just this one and the one vs the 4Runner. Why didn't you use it around that pipe?
@@EZapar Oh. I thought you were commenting on the other video. RUclips commenting reply is sometimes a little weird.
I’ve been all around that area. Good swimming spots up I-90.
Awesome video
You should also get a standard one with out all the off road stuff to see how it does
한국에도 빨리 출시되었으면하네요..
정말 멋진차인거같습니다
if you are only getting 14 mpg on the highway, Ford might as well of given you a V8 in that thing.
My Tundra is better on fuel.
On the 2nd gen (besides having a raptor version) they'll fix those back seats, the 2 Dr jeep seems to have more room. Hopefully the competition will force them to reduce the crazy prices...
So many features!
Ford did a great job with the Bronco but there’s definitely enough differentiation between it and the Ranger, size being one. Curious to see which direction the FJ will go if Toyota builds it.
I don't see many 2 doors. That looks really good.
Great video
“ You Gotta be careful with your hose”….😂
Nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sometimes i wished i lived in the usa.
$56k in the usa
$94k in the Netherlands with alle taxes added.
No you don't.
I'll wait until they release the Bronco 2dr Max... a lil longer wheel base is a sacrifice I'd be willing to make for extra cargo room. If the Raptor will only be in a 4dr, Ford can give us something special for the 2dr.
Ford struck gold with the new bronco
Nice Badsquatch!
I re-watched this, I kept thinking I've heard this voice? I believe Ryan you are an expert motorcycle rider? Is this you?
Nope, must be someone else.
Awesome video! Off topic, looks like this was filmed when there was smoke in the sky. The sunlight looks almost reddish, I really noticed it with the GoPro footage of the wheel.
Yes, there was a little smoke in the air. Good eye.
I'm excited to see the 4runner hang with the Bronco offroad! Does that video have a scheduled release?
Should be this weekend. But I’m traveling through Friday and it might get pushed to next week.
I feel it should be mentioned that the Wrangler 2dr with their V6 is rated for 20mpg combined, so it's probably gonna be mentioned elsewhere too.
