RE: temp and refrigerator...I've never been shy. I call down and ask that someone fix the thermostat so I have a colder room and a refrigerator that is cold enough to store my medicines. Someone came and took care of both issues promptly. Only one time on a Carnival ship did they say sorry-not-sorry. I don't sail the anymore.
We booked an inside cabin on Brilliance for this next January. We was upgraded to a balcony, room 1522. So just a couple of rooms down from the room you are in. I like the light coming in the windows in the morning. We live in a forest and have the blinds open all the time. I wake up and look at the trees for a while! Hope are air works though.
That blue chair has seen better days, faded and not too clean. I always ask for an extra large towel just for my couch . Never know what has transpired on it before.😮
I'm sailing on Brilliance of the Seas in November in an accessible balcony cabin, I've been on Radiance of the Seas a number of times and it feels like home every time I board
Same here - that chair! Not clean looking- we took the linen bag from beneath the bed and covered the chair with a clean sheet...problem solved. But they need to replace the big chairs.
To keep the light out of your room in the morning, just use a hanger with clips (pant hanger) . Put the hanger in a vertical position and use the clips to close the gap. Use 2 if necessary. Works like a charm!
Nothing like the Morning 🌄 Sunrise on a cruise, especially the 1st morning! Pure Heaven! Cabin size is rather small, but fine for me! The temperature in my Stateroom on my 12-nighter Niv/Dec 2023 - was Freezing 🥶 so with no "cooler" in the room, my wine stayed chilled! 😂
Of all the itineraries I think I am most excited to step foot in Turkey than any other place in Europe. Could be the long standing rich culture but for the price we’re paying there has to be a grander more renovated ship. We always sail RC Ships but this has to be the lower end of it cause it seems lacking a lot of this and have things not working properly. That sucks!
Joanne, we just got off Jewel on 4/2. It was one of our favorite cruises. I was concerned after reading some reviews but glad to say that it was really good...........except for the main dining room. Only had two meals there (first and second night) after that we ate in Windjammer. My only negative (except for the MDR) was the internet. Worst we've ever had.
Oh no, the dreaded shower curtain. LOL Curious, we never have found those temp things to work on any ship that has them, and we have yet to find a fridge that cools either.
Have seen a hack for a hotel room with less than light tight curtains. Use a pants hanger that is possibly in the closet. Turn it sideways and use the clips to keep the curtains together and closed. Have used this in a hotel room where we happened to have a bright light outside at night. Could use clothespins also. Or if you have those clips to keep a towel to a beach chair, those might work also.
Love the Radiance Class. Spent 26 nights on Brilliance in 2014 in a Balcony and 34 nights on Radiance in early 2020. I love the decor and the homely feel of the cabins. I found the outside cabin to feel more roomy and with a nice sized lounge. On Brilliance we were in a "D1" category from memory and the cabin was bigger than that as we had a full 3 seater lounge in the cabin. I do miss the Radiance Class here in Australia. We are getting Brilliance later this year but won't have the leave or $$ to sail on her while she is here. The aircon can be very temperamental on the older ships.
No probs. Have 3 booked for later this year. Going through the locks of the Panama Canal on my actual birthday onboard Carnival Spirit which will be amazing no doubt. Actually got upgraded from an outside to a balcony 18 months out! Doing Alaksa on Quantum before this and doing the Carnival Glory out of New Orleans after the PC cruise.
We stayed in balcony cabins on Brilliance on our Baltic cruise about four years ago. We had a proper/working fridge in each of our cabins. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!! That particular cruise was one of our favourites! 😊
I just found out that my Hubby booked us on the Brilliance for Valentine’s next year (Squeee!!)! He uses a CPAP machine though? Are there no plugs beside the beds? How can we work around this? Are we allowed to pack extension cords?
Be sure to have your Travel Agent call in and get an extension cord and distilled water added to your reservation. You cannot bring an extension cord on your own .
Happy spring jj cruise crew! Have a nice Easter weekend ahead, Or passover this week. Hugs Jared- great job.- as always. 😢 Ukkkk on the rooms shower curtain
I will be on Brilliance Of The Seas in November when she is here in Australia 🇦🇺 to do a domestic cruise and I have a interior cabin as I am never in the cabin except to sleep and shower I am always out and about the ship a lot
Take those clothes hangers with the clippy clips on them and use them to hold shut the drapes. You can always ask for more hangers if you need them. Problem solved. 😀
HELLLLLLLLO my babies! Thx for the vid. We sailed in Feb on CARN LIB. Our thermo was the EXACT same as your vid. It was SOOOOO HOT! They came in, checked the temp w/an actual temp theology gauge. Said it was OK rm temp wise, but, it was so uncomfortable. I'm glad I brought along 2 battery operated sm fans..bc, it was just awful in our stateroom. It was actually cooler in the "hallways" than our cabin. Ironically, the last night of our cruise, the cabin was so cold, our EXTRA flannel blankets we had w/us were definitely utilized. Would I sail on CARNIVAL LIBERTY again...heck yeahhhhh! I'd just bring the battery fans as back up w/o question. Again, thx for the vid. NOW......overall, DID YOU ENJOY YOURSELVES??? what was the food like? What was the ENTERTAINMENT abt? Luv youse! ❤️ ❤❤❤
Hey C King! So glad you had a back-up plan for your Carnival Liberty Cruise!! Our Brilliance of the Seas Ship Tour is coming out next. So stay tuned! 🥳
Thanks for sharing❤Nice cabin😊 I love Princess Cruises balcony cabins because the desk and sitting area are next to the balcony. Working on best cabins on Royal Princess today, sailing next Tuesday🎉
Hi Jared! Thanks for the review….I feel for the price of Aqua class, the room service should not be at a cost at any time of day. I’m not a real fan of forward cabins for a variety of reasons. I prefer aft and mid ship. Happy cruising guys! 😘
All those coolers aren’t good. But a steward said to ask for a bucket of ice daily and he provided that for us. Finally things were cold! Not really cold, but it works. Now on every cruise, I ask for ice daily. And I tell them I don’t need a tray or glasses.
Hey JJ. Like there are 2 sides for hanging storage. Bathroom looks dated. 1 toiletry in the shower? The days of shampoo/conditioner/shower gel gone. Hi lad the shower roomy enough that the curtain didn’t stick to you. Ok space but looks dated. I’m the opposite of you. Don’t care for wood. Guess maintenance was unable to address the thermostat or fridge. Small tv. Regular balcony space. Glad the bed was comfortable. We are early risers so the curtain not a problem. Even the fridge not a problem as long as have ice 🧊. A hot room is unbearable. That might cause need for a room change. The size of the room for 2 not bad cuz only in there to sleep. Thanks for sharing and see you next video.
Always let your TA or the cruise line know in advance that you are using a CPAP as most cruise lines do not have outlets next to the bed but they do have approved extension cords available free of charge that they will deliver to your room day 1 IF requested ahead of time. ☺️
Just spent a week on Jewel of the Seas (a sister ship to Brillance) and it was one of our best cruises ever (40+ cruises). We had MORE than enough room in our stateroom/balcony, curtains seemed to be new, couch a bit dated but okay, ship overall was in good ship considering its age. Internet was HORRIBLE!
We are on Jewel now. We do have a jr suite. Real nice. But the internet does go in & out. Don’t think they have starlink yet on this ship. Sitting in the WJ now & it works so much better than in the cabin!
You seem to have very high perhaps unrealistic expectations for a 20 plus year old ship. Like expecting a 20 year old car to be perfect. Maybe the i-CON more your ship ? LOL and if you think that's small try a balcony on Anthem .
Do you know there are Bluetooth lapel 🎤🎙️?...😅....yes,they exist! $30+ 😊 Your narration is muffled and not clear😢 The right equipment and the right script is a must If, you are going to create content on any channel!😏 The camera on your face is not what we care about at all ...All we care about is the ship...period! This is my $ .05 and If you erase it then you should not do any content at all!
Thanks guys! It’s my Passover starting tonight and I hope you enjoy your Easter with your families
Happy Passover! Thanks for the well wishes with our Easter! 🤗
Happy Passover, I am celebrating also.😁

We were on Brilliance in December in balcony cabin. We had the rounded shower doors in our cabin
That’s good to know! Weird they didn’t update this in all staterooms 🤔
Use those closet hangers/clamps to keep curtains closed. Great hack. Thanks for video!
Yes! Definitely been there before 😅 such an eye sore but they work

I like the look of this one! Would suit me. I can sleep through most things so light-tight curtains don't matter to me. Haha. :)
Luckily, we were on this cruise closer to the equator instead of the Midnight Sun 😅
Never an issue in an Inside Cabin 😉

GREAT IDEAL.....THAT'S WHAT I DO...😁
We’ve definitely done this before 😅 such an eye sore tho
Great video! Love that you cover so many details in a short time - thanks!
Thanks.
2 deal breakers: room temperature and lack of a real fridge
We definitely like a colder room 🥶
Nothing like the Morning 🌄 Sunrise on a cruise, especially the 1st morning! Pure Heaven!

Thanks for this! I've been wanting to try a Royal Caribbean ship in this class for a while. I really like the decor in this room, too.
Happy to help! Thanks for watching and commenting your thoughts! 🥳

Going on the Jewel in Sept ( we hope). This is a great review!
Thanks Joanne! We had a great cruise on Brilliance of the Seas and our full ship tour is coming Sunday.
We think you would have a wonderful cruise! 🥳

We’ve found both! (Through its truly a crapshoot on the mainstream lines)
Celebrity Ships have been great to us for room temps and fridges!

We are cruising on Brilliance to Alaska in August! I’m sure needs some sprucing up.
You’ll have an awesome cruise to Alaska! Just bring some magnets or towel clips (or use the pants hangers 😉).

@@JJCruise omg good to know! Thank you so much!!🥰🥰
With how much you travel, I’m amazed you don’t bring eye masks for light issues. The lack of good A/C would be my dealbreaker.
We usually have them for International flights but this trip was purely domestic ☺️
@@JJCruise I use mine at home 😂
Happy spring jj cruise crew! Have a nice Easter weekend ahead, Or passover this week. Hugs

😢 Ukkkk on the rooms shower curtain
Thanks Tracey!! Happy Easter to you as well!
We are never fans of a shower curtain but at least this one kept all water inside the shower 😅

You should see the balconies on the NCL Breakaway and Getaway. I swear they are 1/2 that size.
Very true! We’ve done one and yikes!! 😬
I’m surprised there aren’t any outlets near the bed for CPAP machines.
Cruise-Safe Extension Cords are provided by the Cruise Lines for CPAP machines. You must request one at least a month in advance of your cruise. ☺️
Good morning boys!!!! Hope all is well
Hey Bobby Di! All is well - traveling today for another cruise 😉
Take those clothes hangers with the clippy clips on them and use them to hold shut the drapes. You can always ask for more hangers if you need them. Problem solved. 😀
Does that ship go out of Tampa? Thanks for the great tour of a more mature ship!
Yes! We went out of Tampa for our cruise in fact. ☺️

the lack of functional climate control and a fridge is the deal breaker. the rest is very manageable little quirks for an older ship.
