Once you ride well built suspension it’s less about cost and more about the control and confidence that dialed suspension provides. If you’re serious about riding dirt bikes 2,300 bucks for arguably one of the most important components on your bike isn’t that bad. Buy once, cry once. Good suspension makes you a better rider immediately..
Tucker! That thing looks amazing. I just picked up a 2003 XR250R from a coworker. I was not in the market but always told myself that if one showed up, I would buy it! Stoked to hit the trails on the old dinosaur haha!
Reposting from the comment above: We'll need to weigh them side-by-side but believe they are roughly the same weight (roughly 21 pounds). The WP was a big improvement - the downside is that they were not designed for the Ultra Bee. The difference in offset of KTM triple clamp results in limited turning radius, it's tough to make fender, display, front brake and light/number plate to fit. To answer your question in overall performance, the Sirris feels better. Last but not least, the Sirris is more affordable.
Wondering the same thing as @ssobers asked, "How does it compare in performance and weight to the WP forks? Wondering the same thing as the WP is supposed to be -- OR was the best?

EXT Ferro and Arma MX was built for the smaller e-Motos. You could probably make this fork work on the E-Ride, but you'd have to use an Ultra Bee front wheel, brakes and cockpit. Way too much weight and mods needed.

@@MotoAlias WP 43mm fork does fit - and we sell an adapter kit to make it work on the Ultra Bee, but there is not an adapter kit that exists without utilizing the factory KTM triple clamp, which is less offset and affects the turning radius and makes it difficult to mount the OEM controls, and requires you to run a KTM front brake or KTM front wheel all together. GritShift has had a kit in progress for over a year now, and we'll be selling it, if and when it comes into production, but it's not the better or more affordable option now that the Sirris fork exists.
I’m excited to build an UB with this suspension. It’s a shame I can’t buy an UB without wheels/tires, suspension, controller, battery, sprocket or chain (since all of these parts will be replaced on day-1). :-\
This Ultra Bee build is slightly less than a Varg - for the racing that we're doing with it, you'll need to swap batteries, which the Stark unfortunately can't - and although we love the Varg, we prefer this bike in non-motocross terrain.
@@grantbowen5047 Definitely great prices on the Austrian brands right now! Whether or not they're better is a debate though. Range, for sure. Riding experience, debatable!
2 questions 🙏🏻 1. Will I fit well on a Suron? I’m 6’ tall with a 31” inseam. I weigh 190lbs before gear. 2. How much would it cost? For the Suron and If I went all in and bought all the stuff you have on your bike.
The ECR Tuned Fork and EXT REA is still a great combo! The Sirris combo is top notch, but we wouldn't have waited to change the suspension on our Ultra. The ECR Fork and EXT REA Shock completely transformed our Ultra, hope it did for yours too.
Great content as always but... Who the hell would spend that much on a fork? If you're serious enough about the kind of performance this advertises... you don't start with a Surron.
@@Tazdeviloo7 Agree! We'll repeat it over and over in the comment section here but we're picking this bike over the Stark for mountain single track riding.
$6500 bike + $2300 forks plus + better battery and controller... Pretty much at or over the cost of a Stark Varg and probably still not as powerful. Just buy a Varg?
We're saying it multiple times in the comments, which means we'll have to do a video about it, but we have a Varg in the shop and love it for MX or bigger terrain within the limits of the battery. This Ultra is the go-to bike for mountain singletrack here in Colorado and allows us to ride and race longer distances because we can swap batteries. This Ultra is so fun!
@@ArcticFrost On a 2 stroke, changing the gear oil and air filter takes like half hour max, no fuel to mix. The maintenance is very low and you get such proven technology. Top-level suspension.
The proof that the Motorcycle suspension is the Fulcrum of the motorcycle itself, it can make or break the product itself. 😅
Agree! Not enough emphasis on the chassis and suspension!

What is the total weight of the Surron set up like this?

how fast is she?
I would definitely it that for my ultra bee
Good video, but the price, ugh. I'd try a set of forks and a shock off a 125cc or 150, before doling out that much coin.

Stay tuned!
The light be can build up similar but lighter
Definitely worth it
After the cost of the Ultra Bee, and all the upgrades to get it to this point, are you not in the same price range of a Stark ?
Yes. Or, you can buy a brand new 2024 KTM/Gasgas/Husky 2T300 for $10-11k right now on sale which are better than all of these for trail riding.

The WP is the next nearest competitor, and costs much more to setup
It just needs a set of Motion Footpegs to really unlock that suspension. Just saying...
