EXO have so much influence on international pop culture that big western companies, such as Disney are coming to them and asking them to partner with them. As you may remember, "Lightsaber" was a collaboration between Disney, which owns the Star Wars franchise, and EXO as a way to help Disney promote the most recent release, at that time, of their Star Wars movie "The Force Awakens". So SM came up with the song "Lightsaber" -- which is sort of a remake of a song SM already had also called "Lightsaber" which we heard used in Kai's pre-debut teaser video -- and EXO's accompanying MV. Rumor has it that an executive from Disney happened to catch EXO's performance of "El Dorado" at one of their concerts -- in which EXO also has choreography that uses lightsaber-like lightsticks -- and that's how they were inspired with the idea to ask EXO to collaborate with them on this project. Also, as one of the big 3 Entertainment companies in Korea and around the world, SM has had a relationship with Disney for a long time now and SM has partnered with Disney to produce programs for Disney Channel Korea in the past. Many of the members of NCT got their start pre-debut as members of Korea's Mickey Mouse Club and they starred on the well known variety show which aired on Disney Channel Korea. Those lightsabers are official Disney brand lightsabers given to them by Disney, so they are as close to authentic as you can get without being the actual movie props. One of the reasons why SM agreed to partner with Disney on this project was because it fit so well with EXO's storyline and concept. As aliens from Planet Exo, it makes sense that EXO might be Jedis as well. :D And like everything that EXO does, flowers even play a part in their live stages. Flowers are a central part of EXO's storyline, so we often see flowers in things to do with EXO. Although I am not sure yet what the significance of blue roses is, blue roses seem to have an important part in the story as well. For example, we also see Sehun with a blue rose in their "Love Shot" MV. Blue is also supposed to represent EXO in EXO's storyline as a way to tell whether they are EXO or X-EXO. Things that are blue are thought to symbolize EXO or show when EXO has the upper hand, where red represents X-EXO and the Red Force. Also, blue flowers, when equated with a message, usually stand for love and inspiration, and when presenting someone with blue flowers the love language it's supposed to represent is that you are telling them you will stay loyal and passionate about them. So, the blue rose could be a symbole telling EXO-Ls that EXO (not X-EXO) is there and they will stay passionate and loyal to us as they battle the Red Force as Jedis, to protect humanity and restore peace, etc. You also see during "Lightsaber," leading into the rap section, on the floor they show an image of swirling flames, which is the combination of Chanyeol's fire power and Sehun's wind power, which are the main rappers of the group. This concert is in Japan, and if you notice for "Lightsaber" they are singing in Japanese -- "Lightsaber" is one of EXO's Japanese songs, so that is why when you watched the MV it was so short, because traditionally most Japanese MVs use an abridged version of the song. I think It's part of Japan's marketing strategy to make you buy the song or album in order to hear the full song. So, most of the time, to hear the whole song you have to see it live in concert like this. (In the MV I think you heard the Korean version and they also have a Mandarin version of "Lightsaber", as well.) This concert is at the Tokyo Dome, so there is 55,000 people in that audience. The Tokyo Dome is one of the largest concert venues in Japan and there is an unwritten rule that you can't perform there unless you are able to fill to capacity. EXO, and SM artists in general, are a big deal in Japan, so they have no problem selling out concerts. EXO are so popular that they sell out concerts in 0.2 seconds. The Tokyo Dome concert promoters actually call SM and ask them when they want to hold their next concert because they know that they will have no problem selling tickets and most likely will even have to hold multiple day events to accommodate all the fans who want to attend. And as you saw, EXO has one of the largest stage setups, complete with a giant rain machine and moat that was built special for this concert tour. The members get wet several times throughout this concert. Yes, the members each have numbers on the backs of their shirts, which, as explained in my comment on your "Love Me Right" MV, are special numbers chosen by the members that have significant meaning and was originally created as part of their XOXO album and "Wolf" comeback promotions. Those numbers have now been adopted as a regular part of EXO's storyline and you will see them often in their MVs and on multiple outfits in many of their concerts, etc.
Hi! Everything that EXO does, whether live stage or studio, are masterful & of excellent quality. EXO may have been inactive as a group due to conscription but it's amazing that they maintain their popularity & continue to influence new gen of Kpop. This may be because of their overall talent. Lay 10 coz his birth date and in a chinese idiom" shi quan shi mei" that means PERFECTION .... Baekhyun 04 ...coz he dreamed since his school grade 04 to one day becomes famous person and he started to interested in singing while that time .. Chanyeol 61 ..his childhood nickname is Park chanho who is famous baseball player his jursy number is 61 ...he loves it coz his name is park chanyeol ... Chen ...he is a simple man he choosed his jursy number 21 as for his birth date D.O ..12 his birth date and EXO was originally 12 members group 12 represents that too... Kai ...88 ...it's represents their first album XOXO ...and also his passion for dance ..if we look in to alphabetical order 8th letter is H ..88 means HH which tells HipHop ...coz he is one of main dancers in EXO Sehun 94 ...his birth year he choosed as his jursy number ........
