Amazon Echo Frames Teardown - Alexa, what’s inside?

- Alexa-powered devices are taking over the world-and also your face, starting with the Echo Frames. They’re part of Amazon’s “Day 1” pilot program for new devices (like the Echo buds, which we also tore down). They’re basically a pair of glasses with Amazon’s digital assistant, Alexa, built in, so you can perform small tasks like making a phone call, setting a reminder, or controlling your smart home devices. If you’re going to have an AI assistant next to your brain, it may as well be repairable, so let’s find out what it’s like to take apart. Alexa, enter Teardown Mode.
Editor’s note: if you’re worried that Taylor is frantically looking around in this video because he is about to get jumped by Amazon for performing this teardown, rest easy. He was just filming alone in the office and trying to make sure he was in frame. :)
We don't just take apart devices, we also make the worlds best toolkits!

Everytime Taylor speaks it seems like he is reciting a poem or singing😂😂😂but overall he make great videos!
Ps: bring Kay Kay back! 😂
Too funny - my Echo Dot woke up when she heard this video! Made me jump, because I wasn't expecting the reaction! :)
I'am a Brazilian retired electronics engineer and I love disassemble devices... Congrats and keep up with your videos.
what does being Brazilian have to do with anything ?
Taylor b like: and this my first time.
very nice teardown, I always like to see the third party integrated chips that these integrators end up using for their main line designs. the itty bitty audio codec chip and the battery management chip, stuff like that.
Thanks for showing the entire teardown
Interesting teardown. Thanks
Thanks for the great tear down video. I've noticed some battery degradation in my echo frames. Would like to know where to source replacement batteries.
Hi, would like to see teardown of new 27” iMac, i’m really interested of what inside.
The wooden desk makes this feel like an episode of Ruckingenur CE.
I need help with my iphone 8 plus home button so i replace the broken screen and it works i unlock the phone with my finger print but i cant leave apps and have to use the assistive home button
Am no professional or anything but I think he should just focus on one camera while talking to us 🤷🏽♂️ just a viewer suggestion.
IKR ? I got really confused there
Agree, front camera focusing the background and the other the table. Great video overall, interesting teardown ;)
Coz he didn’t have his glasses on.
Yu should focus more on the English grammar. You should have typed : "I am" not am...
Great. Now go make a teardown video of the WF1000xm3
After performing the tear down. In your opinion do you think it's possible to transfer the arms to a different set of glasses.
Love your content
The glue is to stop the connectors getting loose when they get jiggled in normal use like walking
Nice content I love the videos!
That back wall is super in focus. The speaker… not so much.
Bro can you tell me all parts name
Yay
Given how terrible the Gen 3 frames are, where can I get a battery for my Gen 2?
Wish I had your patience
Nice tear down but another product I have no need of
Can you guys mute when he says "Alexa", I'm watching this in my tv and my Alexa devices are going nuts
Gracias
you could also mute the mics knowing they're going to be activated, not that asking them to mute the word alexa is unreasonable
He is cute
👍🤘
Hi
Point the camera closer to what you doing so your viewers can see what you do !
Can we have Sophia teardown
There lightweight
Judging just the style of these glasses, I would be embarrassed to be seen wearing them.
Since when iFixIt not fixing stuff but tearing them down in pieces?
He's absolutely beginner
I was thinking that also. My suggestion is he finds a high-quality third-party repair shop nearby and offer his services for free for about a week. And then he should make sure he gets a variety of devices and do about 50 of them. That would help his hand muscle memory and using tools confidently.
Big fan of Alexa devices, but these look fucking ridonkulous.
That thing is ugly.
First
Yay
