I like the Civivi and CJRB button locks. Sencut (from Civivi) knives are probably the best value. And I just ordered one of these, I'm turning into a button lock aficionado. For hard use, I carry my Voyager. I got one in AUS10. Can't beat the Triad lock for strength.
Some button locks fail easily. The vosteed raccoon button lock is prone to fail by just tapping the spine of the blade on a table.

Your video on utility knives (from 4 yrs ago, wow time flies) was the catalyst for ending my interest in other knives. I hate sharpening. I tried out (and still like) the Outdoor Edge Razorlite EDC and Onyx knives, which are replaceable razor knives with a conventional form factor (but take proprietary non-standard razor blades). My most common cutting task is breaking down boxes and they will still have some drag going through cardboard because of the design. Now I usually only carry a $12 Coast DX126 folder razor knife. I try to keep it simple. Just replace the razor blade and keep on going, no sharpening. Different strokes for different folks, but I haven't had any cutting tasks a razor knife can't handle since I got it a few years ago, so I don't carry anything else when I'm not working. At work I do add a special edition Spyderco Endura 4 Wave w/Glock tool that I've had for years. You can accurately assess how long by the fact that I had "Fear No Evil" engraved on the spine by Lone Wolf (bought it on their website) at the time that the Nutn' video of the same name originally came out. I have added a Wise Men Company signet ring to it, replacing the Glock punch. Let's see an automatic try to come out that fast. The problem is now I hardly ever watch a knife review because I'm not in the market for one. The same thing has happened with handguns. I was always pretty lukewarm on Glocks, but then I decided that instead of chasing the next new thing and replacing my EDC pistol every couple of years, I would pick up a G27 (for the sake of compatibility with the G22 I have for work and because you can't downsize a G23 but you can upsize the G27 depending on your concealment needs). Slapped a TLR-6 on it and called it good and now I don't really have any interest in gun reviews. Of course then my employer didn't take long to decide that we're going to the Walther PDP platform and going back to 9mm. Which I'm kind of okay with because I was about to get either that or an H&K VP9SK when I turned around and decided to go with the G27 instead for the sake of practicality.
I still love my Cadet (I have 3) and love the Pioneer, but it just seems too heavy compared to the Cadet!

How's the lockup? I've only owned two button lock knives, and both had issues with unlocking with even mild pressure on the spine.
