Graham’s talk show is so much superior to any American talk show.
MVE 100%. I watch every episode on BBC America. The only American late night comedian on his level is Conan.
I've only seen clips from his show, but the sight of multiple celebrities on his couch night after night always astounds me.

@@birajsharma9618 People hype Letterman up too much just because he retired. He literally had the same approach to interviews like Seth Mayer. I am not saying he isn't a good host but he sure wasnt the best. Craig Ferguson IMO was better, he was the best 1 on 1 talk show host I've ever seen, he is very smooth and has great comedic timing.
I'd say top 3: Carson, Norton, Ferguson.

Unlike a lot of interviewers, Norton actually lets his guests TALK. He often just sits back and lets it all happen and doesn't have to be the centre of attention himself. Awesome host.

Graham Norton hosting is like how one hosts visitors in his house - making everyone feel comfortable, keeping the conversation rolling seamlessly, allowing everyone to talk to each other and not demanding the attention all to himself but engaging everyone to talk. And he seems genuinely fond and curious to what story everyone could throw in, just as we are.
As an Irishman I can confirm that grandparents/parents have an outrageous story to tell about every family/house in their town... there is also a black sheep in every family
Literally a common phrase round our parts: "Every family has one". (Ours has a couple tbf)
MikeyD7. In the TV programme Who Do You Think You Are, Norton discovered his ancestors were English. Not surprising in a way because his family were Protestant in a very (very) Catholic country.
He seemed pleased at the news, but he does spend a lot of time in Ireland - and the US.

Graham Norton is on a level of his own. His show is pure enjoyment. He is leaps and bounds above our “hosts” we have in the US... not overly focused on politics, and I genuinely enjoy his shows. Keep up the great work Graham!
I'm always happy when I find clips of his show on RUclips. As others have commented, he truly is the best host right now. He gets people to tell stories you wouldn't hear other places and somehow manages to get everyone on the couch to talk. And then there's the red chair part that's also hysterical
The closest we ever came to his brilliance as a host was Craig Ferguson. Coincidence that he also isn’t American? We had to import him.
His wit is miles ahead of theirs, he's a natural entertainer

@WhoDarestheMAN gamer Bill Burr, Eddie Murphy, George Carlin there has never been and will never be the same amout of comedy talent in Britain it just doesent come close and I am a neutral and huge fan of English comedians but the only name that would get into a top 10 of comedians would be Billy Connelly at his height thats it.
@WhoDarestheMAN gamer I am not American just a student of good comedy and music actually true about the Beatles but most of the great British bands are all irish or Half The Beatles are completly Irish with no English ansestery, the Smiths Bowie Bush both half Irish. England was the soil we were the seed. Also G Norton Peter Kay Paddy McGuinness all Irish desent Terry Wogan Steve Coogan I could go on and on. I like England and Englist people its just my opinion.

@@saketarora4352 Of all the US talk show hosts Conan is the best. Kimmel cuts off people with corny jokes, doesn't let his guest talk or finish a story without interrupting with an irrelevant comment to force a joke. It is not natural at all. Conan has flow so his comments and jokes dont seem abrupt, and he has great comedic timing. Others just force it like Kimmel, Fallon and Corden. Whenever you see a graham interview you can tell the difference between how open the guests are and comfortable compared to other talk show hosts. All the funniest comments with celebrities is from Graham Norton basically

Norton is deserving of the accolades he has received in Britain. And his format of having a stacked couch of talent provides stories we've never heard before. Costner's tale is one, for instance. And Rowan Atkinson's anecdote about fame is hilarious. Graham knows the value of listening and not interrupting the flow of conversation.
The best example, what Norton's "beverages" can achieve, was the show with the reasonably intoxicated Bill Murray, Matt Damon and Hugh Bonneville:
The finest hour in the history of alcohol abuse.
Not to forget a very drunk Mark Wahlberg sitting in Graham's lap.

Graham lets the chat show format breathe. He's content to sit back for a few minutes and let the guests talk among themselves, and that's so much better than some of the hosts who always keep a tight leash and interrupt their guests if they presume to talk more than them.

A God between mortals. Every time Graham is interviewed by someone you understand why he is beloved and worshiped by his audience and I cannot understand why the hell he hasn’t been invited to host the Oscars.
tatikto he actually presented the baftas before Stephen Fry took over. (British version of the oscars)
....also Graham doesn't try to control the interview, he's just there to guide it and also he's extremely funny.

He is being too humble when he says its the beverage that gets them to talk. Its actually him. The comfort guests feel and the aura of cordial chats . Also its a credit to researchers , because unlike many talk shows he isn't asking about recent gossip, hook-up stories or the formula questions about a promotion. He asks about childhood, funny movie memories and so much. Guests don't feel that they are in for being torn apart by an interviewer.
He’s so well spoken, funny, and intelligent. A great guest as well as the best host.

At most he will make a single political joke in his 30 second monologue and it's almost always light hearted and not a serious criticism of half the worlds political views.

I love Graham! I remember skipping school once in 6th grade and Graham Norton was on. It’s been 10 years since and I still watch him to this day . I love him !

Yep. There's no question. He's the best and definitely one of the most famous talk show hosts ever. He should try and host GMA. He would fit in so well. Legend and thats a fact.
Graham Norton is fabulous, refreshing and real but I think everyone forgets that his show is just once a week, not 5 nights a week. Even Graham has admitted in interviews how challenging it would be to do the same show 5 nights a week. BTW he was considered for both The Late Show and The Late Late Show. Don't get me wrong, I am still a devoted Graham Norton fan and I never miss an episode.
His books and especially the audiobooks are delightful

The Shade Rooms , one of the best things About his show though, is that it’s not constantly interrupted by ads. That’s why they can have decent conversations on his show.
