The cheese bacteria take is like not eating bread because of yeast infections. Such things are very common with dairy products.
I like carbonated water because it gives me the same fizzy dopamine that soda does without any sugar. I still drink regular water fine, but I much prefer fizzies.

In Sweden, we tend to use minute steak from the round cut ("lövbiff" - "leaf steak" directly translated 😁) with horse radish and an egg yolk on top, served with mashed potatoes. It's delicious!

Flats not liking flavored sparkling water because it doesnt have 2 kilograms of sugar per liter like the rest of the american drinks.

The issue with sparkling water isn't the taste, it's the over carbonation. Feels like drinking TV Static. The only company that I think does sparkling water right is Liquid Death. It's not over the top carbonated like Shasta, bubly, or La Croix. It's just a nice subtle carbonation.
Edit: carbonation also forms carbonic acid which gives the bitter taste that most sparkling waters have
