Goods and groceries are always more expensive out here in the middle of the ocean, and sadly, the crazy inflation we've seen this past year has only increased costs. But it makes me that much more grateful we are completely solar powered here. I'd be wrecked if I had to come up with an ever increasing power bill every month (on top of everything else). I'm working on a raised garden bed design that will allow me to grow fresh greens without risk of contamination of slugs or rats (which can carry the deadly rat lung worm here). I hope to have it built and ready to plant by spring! Will really help to cut my grocery costs next year. Eat your yard! 🌱 Aloha!

I stopped making New Years resolutions years ago because I could never keep them. I do wish for you to have your roof finished by the end of the year. Prices are up for everything all over the world. I have been taking inventory of what I need for my home and to purchase it before Christmas. What I have noticed the most is that coffee and olive oil have skyrocketed 😬!

Jael, I so enjoy watching your videos. Well, I should say it gives me joy and sadness at the same time, because as far as I can remember, I have always wanted to move to the countryside. I have always dreamed of having my chickens, goats, cows, and lots of fruits and vegetables. I am in Florida, and I do have a large backyard, but it's not as your land. However, I am grateful for my blessings!! I have a few vegetables planted and some fruit trees. But I would love your land space. At this time, things here in America are getting worse. Rent, mortgage, car, and home insurance are up. Food and utilities as well. I bought this house in 2017, and since then, my taxes have gone up, and my home insurance went from $1,000 to 3,687 ( us dollars). I am retired, so my income stays the same. But by the grace of God, I am managing. So, I am waiting on God to lead me. I honestly want to go back to my native country or Africa, where my money can stretch. But it's up to my creator! Here in Atlanta, USA most things have doubled in price. Groceries, rents, house prices, utilities, insurance and taxes. We just have to tighten our belts. Cook more, eat in and eat out less. The younger generation are being priced out of the real estate buying market because of high prices and interest rates.
