The sad thing about Bernard Hopkins is that they did that for the entirety of his career, He was the only boxer that was not afraid to call out the politics even when he won. Yes you had people that only talked about it but it was when they lost or felt like they were cheated in a loss. Bernard called them out when loser draw and they always tried to stop him or sensor him like this idiot did

safar ektal Hagler would have knocked Hopkins out later in the fight!!! sugar Ray Robinson would have knocked Hopkins out as well!!! Robinson then would outpoint hagler!!!
its amazing to hear them asking whether hopkins has gotten old in 1999.......this man is now weeks away from positioning himself as the de facto boss of the light heavyweight division in 2014.
LOL They were talking about Hopkins like he was a shot fighter in '99. Little did they know that he would continue to fight at the world elite level for another 16 years.
People who only know the Bernard in his 40s and talk shish about him, look at him vs Allen Echols Brown look at the young Bernard that made his bones he's one of the best ever, and not physically gifted like alotta fighters. Just a crafty dude with the heart of a lion!
2000toinfinity Absolutely, yo Antwan Echols was a monster he just wasn't all in. Had he been more focused he woulda been better known and a def force. He fought him twice not to mention RRJ, David Allen Jackson, embarrassed Tito beat up Joppy and at 49 took Kovalev the distance...
mookeychase0907 how bout Hopkins last bout against a white boy, average Joe Smith!!!😄🐈👊😅😀💀😇👻😂 That shit was fucking hilarious!!! talk about cherry gone wrong!!! good for his racist ass!!!
@@mookeychase0907 Echols was a force. He would have been middleweight champion without Hopkins around. Echols was probably the hardest puncher in boxing back when Hopkins fought him.
@@kingdomofanimaria if you go watch prime Pernell against Wilfredo Rivera, you’ll see Rivera knock pea down multiple times and get robbed. They had a rematch, and once again Rivera got robbed. Sweet pea also lost to Oscar and Trinidad at only 32-33 years old. Pernel is an all time great, however he wasn’t the “greatest” by any means. Ali on the other hand was prob the greatest heavyweight of all time
Allen was a heavy puncher. If any one of his shots had hit the right spot, Hopkins would've been asleep. It's a testament to his chin and movement that Allen never landed flush.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Mr Bernard Hopkins ! You're a man and a half ! This is what having guts and balls is all about. Always standing for their rights. Merci ! 💪👍👌✌👊👏👏
They were able to manifest a third fight out of this shenanigans (also first fight ending)!!! The histrionics of these two is almost child-like, but in my estimation children would exhibit more self-control.
Damn, i see you PePe speaking out for yo fighter. Allen was getting schooled but i appreciate seein the coach steppin up an not being a lame ass "say nuthin" ass coach. Much respect Pepe 💪
Hopkins is someone I thought was good, but he probably could not have won a fair fight. He either head butted, low blowed, or hit on the break in fight after fight. I guess that is what you do if you can not win legally.
IMPORTANT PLEASE READ: I am glad this fight included the interview with Jim Gray. Jim Gray in this segment is the epitome of a 'White privilege narcissist ' that is so unemphatic and out of touch with reality that he simply 'dismisses' the circumstances of individuals that he cannot relate to, and types like him are EVERYWHERE, and no, don't give me that bullshit about voting is going to get rid of these types because it will not, like I said they are EVERYWHERE, now am I saying that every White person is like this, NO, but I cannot, will not turn a blinds eye toward this racial phenomenon and act as though it doesn't exist just to keep certain ones from feeling uncomfortable, but do you know what is even more DISTURBING and SCARIER than this interview...the fact that one can receive a jury of twelve individuals just like Jim Gray and be told that they are your PEERS with the fate of one's future hanging in the balance. If I were a Showtime executive telecast manager I'd take corrective action against Jim Gray and demand that he keep his personal opinion to himself unless it pertains to the actual fight or inquiries about future fights. Him including his 'two-cents' caused this interview to go left, but in doing so Hopkins beautifully illustrated the parallel between the socioeconomic struggle of minorities and the struggle of exploited boxers.
Awful...simply awful. Look I think Ferdie's experience and knowledge are unquestionable but he's simply not a polished broadcaster. His delivery is halting and terribly unsmooth...it almost seems like he gets so passionate and overexcited that he gets tongue tied and stumbles all over himself. NBC started this "character " The Fight Doctor and paired him with Marv Albert and he somehow parlayed that into a 35 year career as a boxing broadcaster...how...I don't know. There are dozens of color commentators I would rather listen to during a fight broadcast.
hopkins interview after the fight is just gold
Gotta respect him tho. You notice Jim Gray was trying to cut him off!
yea cuz this boxing. not politics
B Hop shut up a lot of angry haters from the first fight and then went full alpha level 100 in the post-fight interview. I love this guy!
Way to go, Bernard, especially the post-fight interview.
He dropped some jewels in the post fight interview. Funny how when you droppin real knowledge, the powers that be wanna shut you up.....
I think people need to hear it again and again right now, I'm glad he got to say what he needed to say
Yeah that's some real shit he said

Hopkins one of my favourites of all time. Not the most pleasing of styles but a class act none the less. 👍
What in the hell were the online viewers watching having Allen ahead by four rounds?
Probably Roy Jones fans
Bernard Hopkins-genius Boxing, clever boxer with a heart of a lion
Great interview very thought provoking

Watch a even younger Hopkins before he faced jones he was actually a very strong and talented middlewight text book fighter with it all!
And I thought hopkins edged out the win vs Jones in the first fight. Bias judges and commentators were off

That ref is really good, he knew exactly what was going on the whole time.
48:58 is why you are here. This post-fight interview is everything.
not at alllll
Allen was trying to pull the same trick he perceived Hopkins to have gotten away with in the first one
They already started calling him old then, questioning whether he slipped. LOL
LMAO at the online score card. Going in to this fight I'm sure the "fans" were rooting for Allen.
R.I.P to Bouie Fisher and Brother Naazim Richardson. 🥊🙏🏿🌹

Is there really a 3rd instalment...? How long did that last? Did they both dive out the ring with the ref before the first bell...$
What song did Hopkins walk out to?
