Draiman is one of the best Rock singers of our generation if not the best. He and disturbed have been fire for a couple decades now. His vocal abilities are endless
I'm not a real heavy metal lover but I'm hooked on Disturbed. I love David Draiman's voice, the band is on fire, & their lyrics are thought-provoking. I hope they tour my hometown; I so want to see them in person. I know, it's wild that Draiman actually studied to be a Cantor (a sacred hymn singer) in the Hebrew religion. He is so talented.
I discovered Disturbed back in the early 2000's when I heard them on the local FM station. I bought this CD and was not disappointed, now I'm what you kids would call a "Classic Rock" guy growing up in the sixties and seventies. This is a bit different type of music that I was used to but I've grown to enjoy most everything they've done.
"Dammit I should've seen this coming earlier. Oh-WAH-AH-AH-HY did I let it happen?" That was gold. I haven't literally laughed out loud that abruptly in a while. Thank you for that.
David Draiman...a voice to die for! A powerful yet soulful voice that can go from warm baritone to angelic tenor, from clear as a crystal to rasp/distortion/vocal fry and back on a dime, which is incredibly difficult to do and he makes it look so damn easy! He has a timbre in his voice that I've never heard before.....just hauntingly beautiful and pure tonal properties to it! An awesome talent and obvious training to deliver what he does!! Can sing like an angel or the devil ! Loved your reaction and your take on David's performance Jamel ! Try "Deceiver", "The Night", "Indestructible", "The Light", "Enough", "Violence Fetish" by Disturbed too.
My fave David Draiman song is FORSAKEN from the film Queen of the Damned. Beautifully sung & makes you come out in sympathy for the poor unloved VAMPIRES.
Oh shit. I wasn’t expecting OG Disturbed. They have a massive catalog of great music but two I’d pick out are Land of Confusion (another song they covered) and Inside The Fire. (A very personal song to David)
David Draiman and Sergei from System of a Down are in that small group of rock/metal singers that could legitimately do opera or some Broadway production as successfully as they rock. Howard from Killswitch Engage and Maynard from Tool are in that group for me too.
The main riff and the subtle ways he changes it makes this song for me. I've never really looked into who their guitar player is but he always comes up with some sick riffs and has a nice tone

You remembered! LOL! Yes you got it right.....it's a "Pinch Harmonic" also known as a "Pick Harmonic". This is just one of Disturbed's MANY off the chain good songs. The title track from this album, Ten Thousand Fists, is awesome as well, you should check it out Jamel. They seem to do one cover tune per album, and on TTF, they did an unbelievable cover of Land Of Confusion by Genesis....it's wicked good, also most definitely worth a listen. Hey Jamel, Phish is going on tour this summer/fall. They are playing San Fran Chase Center October 16th and again on the 17th. I know you been itchin to go to a live show and I highly highly recommend these guys live. Such a fun experience. You never know you might even run into a few Jamel Heads out there!
I have a person like this in my life, that i just cant get over despite the passing years and all i've tried to get over her. Disturbed and Draiman just have that way of putting feelings into words, its another band like Sasquatch (should check them out too if you get the chance) and Godsmack as well as TooL that really helped my get through some things all along life. The Light, Hold on to Memories, and A Reason to Fight ( the live version is best) are a whole other level of powerful messages. They are more like ballads if you’re interested in the that side of Disturbed.

If you do have a chance to see them live definitely go. They put on an excellent show, and they are even better live than in the studio.

Really any song off the first 3 albums are a good choice. After that it’s 50/50 on whether or not you like the song.
I've seen them live 3 times now in big and small venues and they never disappoint!!
This brings me back to my 21st and doing karaoke. I had a friend who loved singing Disturbed and it was always so fun to watch.
My fave song of theirs! I fell in love with it going through a divorce of a 20 year marriage. I related to his pain.
