If you need a maegi, ship one in from Asshai. If the plan was to kill Drogo off, then Illyrio must surely know how chaotic it is in a khalasar when the khal dies. The eggs could easily have been stolen, smashed or lost. Illyrio's minions like Jorah could easily have all been killed off, or gone rogue, stolen the eggs and sold them off in the far east, where Illyrio would have trouble retrieving them. And with the witch at Summerhall... wasn't the Ghost of High Heart there? Aren't those two events paralleled specifically because all 5 elements - the pyre, the witch, the king, the princess and her baby son - were all present in both cases?
So if the house with the red door was on Illyrio's estates, why house Viserys and Dany there, why stop housing them, and why was Dany lied to about the house being in Braavos?
TBH, not sure entirely... I'm gonna dig into all that a bit in a future series. But I've just always vibed with the idea that its those estates in the rolling grass fields that he brings up. Lotta people think Dorne but like... we do get a good slice of Dorne and its a lot more arid.. idk, just my wacky thought
The house being on Illyrio's estates fits really well with Illyrio and Varys having long-term plans for Dany and Viserys. But it being in Dorne might fit better with Viserys lying about Braavos, as it would bruise his pride less to say that he was kicked out of anti-dragon Braavos, rather than part of the country he wants to rule...
@randominternetguyoffical you might be right, but I think George would have done something like have Tyrion noticed something in passing, like; houses having different coloured doors.
@@jaredbrady5566 Preston Jacobs made some pretty persuasive arguments towards this being the location of the HwtRD IMO in his "Page of Lies" series.
I always figured it was in the Sea-Lords grounds. Where he has gardens (maybe a greenhouse with lemons) and a menagerie (the carved animal heads).
I think Tyrion noting it would be revealing too much too early. Dany has a fair ways to go before her "going back" before she can go forward leads her there...
