I thank you from the bottom of my heart! A comment like this inspires me to continue and delve deeper into the instrument. It's wonderful that I was able to make you happy!
Got a secondhand Kronos 2 73 key a couple of weeks ago now. Couldn't believe how heavy it was but wow, i will never sell it. Love the Piano sounds. The J. Rudess piano is amazing. Gonna take me years to figure out how to master this beast. All the keyboard i will ever need.
Great demo! I love my Korg Kronos 2 above all of the rest. I composed a lot of very cool music in the 90's using my Korg Karma, and then Korg discontinued it. I was so very happy to see the Kronos and Kronos 2 have the Karma engine inside. Now I am back!
Back in the Triton days, they were getting ridiculed for their lack of usable pianos, and so going forward, that has been one of their primary focuses. The president of Korg himself directly instructed his engineers to focus on getting good pianos in future workstations, above all else.
What an Absolute pile of complete perfection, super well programmed and played, reminds me why they are awesome. Depeche mode would kill for that programmer.....😎🎵🎶😎
Congratulations! If you are like me, you have wonderful years ahead! After hearing that the Kronos was discontinued, I was suddenly very proud not to have sold mine! Welcome to the Club!
I’d like to ask why you returned the Montage? I’m also deciding among the Kronos, Nautilus, and the Yamaha Montage. I work on classically-inspired music, orchestral stuff, and at times experimental, avante-grade music. Given those, what do you think will suit me better? Thank you
Very well done 👏! Thank you for the awesome demo. I still like my Triton Studio..but..it is getting a tad long in the tooth....well you know..lol...Have a great weekend 😀. Mark Bensette Aux Bois 🇨🇦.
Thank you so much!!! I know the Triton well, it is an excellent synthesizer with many fantastic sounds! Korg creates with every synthesizer something unrepeatable - also with him! Best regards from Volker, from Hamburg, Germany 🙂
This is the master board to have right now.Unlimited creativity options.Challenging sometimes, but that is the beauty of being the master and the best.I'm using this board to do orchestral compositions for church. The main musician at the church in awe of the sounds that I can get from this instrument being that I'm the auxiliary musician.
quick question, how many active layers can you have on the wave sequences on this and i assume the Nautilus? I have a wavestate which is freaking awesme and has 4 layers of wave sequencing.
You can overlay 16 tracks - the same with the Nautilus. I also have the Wavestate and am totally thrilled, also how fast it goes. It takes longer with the Kronos because you have to scroll through the menus....
I would love to have one of these. Superior flagships. Honestly at this point id even be happy with the little older M50 or the likes. I love pads and pink floyd intrumentals type stuff. I played drums most my life until lost in katrina and never recovered fully enough as well having to live in apmt. When i was about 18. I was in a wreck. I was cut a check for 5k USD. I was nearly killed for that money. In hindsite i was ripped off as i had no idea i could have taken the insurance company to court. My parents were also very gullible and didnt know. Or didnt care or perhaps knew of i had 100k id kill myself with partying. I was a bit rough...However. I took that money and bought a little honda accord 82. Then the keyboard i saw while buying cymbals. I bought a paiste china for 270usd and for the 3k remaining walked out by a whim seeing and playing with a yamaha Sy77 that had just released. This was 1990. I would play for 2 years and trade it back in for a high end pearl all birch shell series kit. Drums were my life but i was realizing at that time i was more of a musician at heart and wanted to write music to express myself somehow. Letting things go healthy. Sadly i would have ulna nerve damage to my right hand. Partially paralyzed 1 year later. I eventually , after moving to Ga around 34 years old or so. Had it for 2 months. Amazing memories. I also realized the cutting out of some notes if not paying attention using the 16 track onboard seq. Lol. I then sold it for 400 with flight case anvil. Costed 80 plus to ship. Hahaha...i bought a yamaha Moxf6. Absolutely upgrade from the 27 then year old keys tech. Sadly in covid i sold it. But right before i bought a strat. I have began then in 2018 on learning guitar more. Missed those sounds from my son. So now here i am. No drums. Only a cheap casio i have to figure out midi so i can use VSTs at least and finally make music and SOLO over it. So now i use valhala to make swells for pad sounds on guitar. I miss keys bad. I hope the midi thing works for me as i am hungry inside for this. Hahah. Thank you for sharing. I saw your hands shaking and it made me reflect a bit about health. I hope you are well,...❤
What an exciting life story! But at the same time, it is the journey of a musician who has learned to express himself through his instruments. I've been around for 50 years, I've owned dozens of keyboards and sold them again for lack of money, and I can tell you: It doesn't have to be the biggest and most expensive instrument anymore to find you in your music. The Korg M50 is just as good as the Kronos when it inspires you, many of the best moments I've had with the Yamaha PSR600, a low price keyboard. It's great that you've passed on your passion to your son. In this way, the journey continues. Good luck with that. I'm fine by the way, thanks for asking, the shaking of the hands comes from age...
Thank you very much! I am not a good keyboarder, the Kronos inspired me with its sounds and variety. And it will do the same to you if you just play and play and play 🙂
I see a lot of DAW comparisons and that's not what one of these is about, there is a graveyard full of pc and keyboard combinations but the difference on the Kronos is all the hardware is built around the cpu and not the other way, it doesn't need the latest patch or update every 2 weeks and does not go obsolete, all the controls surfaces are heavily emphasised and catered for with each instrument you selected, it's all done for you perfectly and you don't see that much on soft synths that mainly are pumped up rompers and considering 2.5k all in that's cheaper than a PC doing all of this, I have daws and Workstations and they are not the same and from a musicians perspective that's good, you need it to be alright on the night and you could ot trust a PC/Mac not to screw you when your back is turned with some update that breaks something else. A daw is for the studio a workstation is for all events or just in your front room. Thats my take as I have owned keyboards for years and years.
I agree with you one hundred percent. The Kronos is a keyboard for eternity, doesn't have to chase after trends and also offers a great sonority live. When it comes to music, I love its immediacy - so when I have a good piece, I want to be able to play it live to others. I can do that on the Kronos. So it's a momentum that doesn't exist when you start the PC or tape. That's second-rate for me, for all the progress, in terms of the musical moment.
Just a pleasure to hear your idiomatic expressions of this complex and wonderful instrument. Another mini concert I would not want to miss. I have had the Kronos I and II and they are industry leaders for a good reason. I only occasionally attempt to program it since the presets and libraries provide so much inspiration. While it needs an upgrade, I hope they stay with the concept. My wish list would be to replace or add some engines, like OPSIX and Modwave as well as a true analog engine based on the Prologue. A larger display or port to a commercial touch screen, and a lot of solid state memory, maybe a terabyte. Upgrade the sequencer to provide stems for a DAW and go to 24bit all around. Although I have a Montage that competes in many ways, I don't think I could give up the Kronos. I tried the Jupiter X but went bck to the Kronos II. Thanks for this exploration and reminder what a creative and inspiring instrument we have.
Thank you! After so many years, I have become accustomed to the fact that the Kronos will probably remain as it is - for whatever reason. Its sounds are timeless. If you don't use it for a while, you can always discover them anew 🙂
@@Grubenpony12 So true, each time I need a special sound I go there first, it is so deep I can usually find what I want or quickly create a combi that does the job.
