My A1C on Feb 1, 2023 was 13.9, so my doctor put me on Trulicity. I was on that until Apr 24, 2023 when I switched to Mounjaro. I started Mj at 5mg dose. First month I didn't lose anything, but my A1C dropped to 6.5. Increased dose to 7.5mg. Was on that until end of September and then started 10mg, which is my current dose. A1C is now 4.7!! I've lost 80 lbs on Mounjaro and 105 lbs total. I can't even begin to explain how profound this is for me. I've been yo-yo dieting my entire adult life. This is the first time I truly believe I will reach a healthy weight and be able to sustain it. I cut out all highly processed foods, but that is the only restriction. I don't deprive myself of carbs or sweets, I'm just more selective and eat them in moderation. I try and prioritize protein, but some days, I just want fruit and a croissant, so that's what I have. I just have to make them myself so I know what's in it! It's all about balance and moderation and I've learned how to eat intuitively. Before Mj I didn't get those natural hunger cues like I do now. Instead, it was just constant food noise. I think this is how most "normal" weight people must feel and why I think some of them believe eating or not eating something is just about how much willpower you have. It's because they don't experience the food noise like others do. Anyway, good luck on your continued journey. Keep your head up cuz you're doing great!

Can you go up to a higher dose?

I’m at the max dose currently and have been for almost 7 months now so I’m wondering if my body may just be used to this medication now.

Darn! I guess all our bodies are so different. I am an extremely slow loser (1-2 pounds per month) but still losing. I hope you can try Zepbound without any of those negative mental effects. Good luck to you!@@sweetReaper
