- 13 hours of footage, a stressful week of editing, 47 Camtasia crashes, a random switch over to VSDC, and one BSoD later: a disappointing sequel to a beloved product! I hope you enjoy the video, even if it's not really worth the year of hype preceding it.
I'll actually look into getting a better, more reliable microphone for next time, as well as getting an editing program that actually WORKS PROPERLY. Sorry about all the sound issues and such, I kinda forgot how I did everything last video...

DR3 ain’t bad. It’s just overshadowed by the fun of the first 2 games. It’s still pretty fun, just not nearly as challenging or time intensive.
Exactly, but personally, I love all of the Dead Rising games and 3 and 4 aren’t the exception.
I recomend playing kn nightmare difficulty, if you want the OG dead rising experience. 3 day time limit, save at bathrooms and you'll probably have to do nee game plus to complete it. The whole package

Like so many games of the modern era (post-Xbox 360 and ps3), it would be a good game if it wasn’t tied to the Dead Rising franchise. The stories of the first 2 were great and the gameplay was awesome but dr3 was only interesting gameplay wise.
I was waiting one year to see this and I like how are turned out.

Dante Ravioli is just the person I looked at while researching the first dead rising game. He's good stuff, and I'm definitely gonna be watching his stuff now.

This is super impressive even with the instances you were forced into using weapons/vehicles, but I love the mental image of this dude, decked up in a frog raincoat and looking like he's going to the beach on a rainy day, with *extremely* ripped arms and calves due to all the running, kicking, and punching he did.
But yeah, don't feel bad about those 5 situations where you had to break the rules! Personally, I would've just added in a rule that dictates the only usage of a weapon/vehicle is when it's absolutely necessary to get past an important mission, but I'm not you so! Anyways, this game is actually my favorite in the DR series, even with all of its flaws. Nick and the rest are likeable, the psychopaths are p creative imo (the whole based around the seven deadly sins thing and all that), and overall the game looks fantastic! But I can see why people may dislike this game.
Your humor got me chuckling a bit and I think the quality of your footage and audio was great! I hope more of these come to exist. A video a year's depressing for how fun and well done these videos are. Talented, experienced or just passionate in whatever program you use to edit the videos, they're fantastic, and worthy of way more people to enjoy them. Happy I found this one and the Off the Record video!
I would love to try this challenge honestly. It really is a shame that you cannot beat it without using weapons. I never knew the Hearse could blow up and you could carry the coffin as well as that security camera somehow being immune to healing items while the others were not. Some strange things you learn in the game! I enjoyed the video overall and I would love to see if I could work around the obstacles that destroy the run. The only way I could think of is of course getting an alternate ending but that is not truly beating the game!
Speedruns of the game that are "weaponless" are very odd. They use vehicles willy-nilly, use guns on all three cameras, and get the D rank ending which is... odd to me. So technically, you could get around Red and Hemlock by doing that but...
As you say, any other ending than S is not truly beating the game.

I doubt you'll see this, but I thought your first challenge video was great, the people that care about the AV quality can piss off, it wasn't bad, it just wasn't what some people expect every modern YT video to look and sound like.
The content was great. Everything was well put together; it was well thought out, cohesive, comprehensive, the script/narration was so well done that I had thought you had been doing this for years, and it remained entertaining throughout. Seriously, you did a great job. Ignore the negative comments.

You could've altered the Vehicle rule to "can be used, as long as they don't kill", which would work for the altered challenge.

Dead rising 3 is actually a good game in my opinion I feel like it gets too much hate. It is different enough from the first 2 but I feel like change was needed in order to prevent them from just making the same game over again but not different enough that it still felt like dead rising

There were plenty of jokes of that caliber in the video and I cannot express enough how enjoyable it was. Keep up the amazing work; it's sure to pay off.

Do you think doing 2 player would help during any of these sections? It might help speed up the harvester drone section, and it'd be easier to clear out large hordes during vehicle sections
It's entirely a possibility, but I believe that even with co-op, the headstart Hemlock gets in each new area is too much to come back from.
Though, I'd love to be proven wrong.

I beat the game full leveled and no weapons and I still didn’t die on that run
The fact that a guy using no weapons on this game and dies for the first time half of the game really tells us something about it's dificulty

Dead Rising 3 is my favorite Dead Rising title. With the exception of 4, it's the only game series I feel has become better with each title.
Then 4 ruined that.

Also, id argue the glitched camera and the red boss fight don't fully count, as you never hurt a human or zombie with the guns used, it was something mechanical

I've got one thats a bit easier: Can you beat Dead Rising 2 using only "sensible" weapons. The way it works is you can only use a weapon that someone could realistically pick up and use as a weapon. Stuff like a Tomahawk, Pitchfork, 2X4, ETC. Pretty much all guns (Not including toy or Si-Fi ones) Combo weapons are allowed but again only ones that would work in real life (Spiked bat, Molatov, Pole Weapon.)
I'm aware that there is some leeway on what would be allowed, but I think it could be fun.
I wanna play this! But I don't have any Xbox console and don't plan on getting anytime soon

When recording voice-overs, record it underneath a blanket, naturally dampening the sound so the acoustics don't sound horrible
