This car is pure poetry on the track. I play this car in Forza 4 and love it. I would like this car even more if the base car had a stiffer suspension, but that and the GS are the best looking Vettes out there.

@flawns Having owned a 2007 C6, I'm gonna have to say yes. I never experienced it, and if i remember correctly GM did something with the half shafts in the rear to ensure that wheel hop is never an issue. On what year car did you experience wheel hop issues?
Finding the reviews on the regular Corvette is like searching for a needle in a haystack...it's all the ZR1, GS, and Z06. Great. I am considering buying the new regular vette, not any of these models, it's a pain in the butt lol

@Marc99GT Thank you. Mustang fan boys have really gone crazy with numbers with the new 5.0. You can get a base GS 1LZ out the door for just over 47k and absolutely blow the doors off the 5.0, the base 42k z52 automatic beats the crap out of the 5.0. The the base 47k 1LZ GS beats the 55k GT500 in almost all categories, and simply walks it on the curvy track.
Motorweek is usually spot on. I've been watching this show since i was a kid. FYI my 012 mustang with cai + tune + axlebacks is just as fast actually. 01 sec quicker. $65k vs $38k with the money left over i'm buying an eco box like a fiesta sonic dart...
Their acceleration times have always been slow though. There's a list of guys on Corvette Forum running high 11's and low 12's with bone stock LS3 powered cars. And I love Mustangs but there's a reason (lots of them actually) for the price difference and life isn't a quarter mile.
The problem is Corvettes are number one in it's market with just over 27% market share which also includes 911s. The main issue with those other cars is they are riduculously expensive to maintain & repair. I hear more crying from people that buy MB, BMWs and Audis second and third hand because they love the looks but not ready for the cost of repairs and maintenance. All of that highend tech comes at a serious price when it starts failing and they all will.

People comment'n on how the GrandSport is a waste of money clearly don't know anything about corvettes. And to compare it to any mustang made is just a damn laugh. Look on the web or talk to any chevy dealer, you can get a 1LT base GrandSport for 48k, blow the doors off a 5.0, and beat a 53k GT500 in 90% of all categories. This car replace the base manual z51 option. A hell of a performance deal. Best in america, hands down. Those who compare it to a mustang are laughable, do some research.
Can someone tell me where the ride quality in the Grand Sport would rank vs. the Base Corvette, The Z06 and the ZR1? ( Also, does the grand sport have a selective ride control option? I heard its basically like the old Z51 pack but f teh z51 had ride control, which setting would the Grand Sport most closely emulate. THanks!
To bad the new GS left the original 1963 327 out from under the hood. I know the LS3 is better by far. It's just that the new 5.3 would've kept the GS somewhat in line with it's 60's herritage. As you can tell by now, I prefer herritage and tradition over all else. Oh well.....Corvette still rules!!!

Motorweek gives some of the best fairest reviews, has been for decades now. And if you want to see another legit review you'd watch Fifth Gear NOT Top Gear. Fifth Gear and Motorweek both give fair and unbiased reviews, unlike Top Gear of today who only appeals to 16 year old fanboys who plays video games all day.
@ZR1Terror i agree with how the corvette looks low, wide, and mean BUT when you said it has the handling to smoke ANY mustang on any race course that wasnt accurate, enter "2012 boss 302" into the search bar and see what i mean. the boss right now actually runs the laguna seca lap faster than a bmw M3, audi R8, and corvette Z06. the new boss is no joke whatsoever and is better than the gt500 in almost every way. 12.3 1/4 mile 4.0s 0-60 and a little over 100ft braking from 60mph. it is nasty!
@DocWolph I have the money and I can't understand why you would pay $20,000 more for essentially the same car, with the GS being a little better because you can remove the top. Your answer was quite frankly a non answer... It is not like you actually get a decent interior with the Z06, it is the same lousy interior. The GS is the hands down best value of the Corvette line up.
Now if they would get rid of the fiberglass/plastic mono leaf springs , add coil over springs , make a DSG style gear box... Thankfully they did not put the PLASTIC window hood for the ZR1 on it.
@venom5809 the Z06 is a different beast than the GS. If you test both cars you'll understand what I mean. You can tell the GS is quite heavier than the Z06 when cornering. This video doesn't give the Z06 much credit. If you know who Ranger is, he got his bone stock Z06 into 10's. The Z06 can easily do 0-60 under 3.5 seconds with the right driver the same as the GS and base Vette can do 0-60 in 4 seconds flat with the right driver. You are right, the GS is a great deal, but the Z06 is different

@uclajd corvettes is definitely a 100% sports car, but very few people want an all out sports car like the Corvette or a GTR because they arent as pratical.....there for cars like BMW M3, Audi R8, Porsche 911 are the best of both worlds (performance and luxury ) and have very good materials and build quality, compared to the corvette plastic interior and experior ...it all depends what you are looking for in the driving experiance

What fool typed that the new 2011 Mustang is as fast as the GS? I have read all of the specs on both and that is far from the truth. Motortrend has the GS running 0-60 on 4.0 seconds. Not to mention, base C6s with autos are running 12.30s @ 115-117 mph in videos right here. The GT is not that quick or fast and no where near the handling by a longshot. I love the new new Mustang, but an all around performer like the C6 it will never be.
@Killian and Carson band bloodshot Not bone stock it wasn't. I have worked on many of those and it was/is not that quick. They ran 12.8s at about 110 mph at best. Show me anywhere that's documented. This post is fairly old BTW. The 2011 GT500 barely ran that time so you are seriously mistaken.

Bought a new 2019 C7 Corvette Grand Sport, with a MANUAL TRANSMISSION, and it’s a great car! Buy a Corvette, life is short.

I would put my C7 Z06 up against any 302 mustang. I’ve beat hellcats with my stock manual car. Mustangs wouldn’t be a problem.

The Grand Sport is supposed to be a light weight racing edition and not have heated leather seats or be well equipped. The C2 GS is the ONE......
