I’ve had my Camaro for about 2 years now. 2010 SS auto. I’ve been eyeing that TSP CAM kit with DOD and VVT delete. I’ve been scared to pull the trigger mainly bc I felt like I would need someone else to install it and it would run me about another 2500 dollars on top of the 1300 dollars for the cam kit. But now I’ve decided I’m going to do it myself. Definitely a project for either summer 2022 or 2023. In no rush but I want to address that problematic lifter issue with the automatic SS Camaros as soon as possible. Loved the video hopefully you still have the Camaro.
@@nalley6815hell no 😭life keeps getting in the way, but I did buy the cam kit. Sameeee. That made me very nervous. To each their own. It ain't my motor. But personally. I'd shove something in the to catch the lifters if it were to fall. That's a 2$ dowel for the time and money to pull the heads. 😂
Faster way to do springs is using air. One thing to warn ppl is to not have to much hope in the lifters staying up in the trays with the cam out so make sure they have it prepped because then what happens if a lifter drops.. Well yeah not fun afterwards. But best to take precautions.
No dod delete needed? My 2020 has proven to be a real pain. I did the tsp stage 2 with vvt delete due to the lift and 1:8 roller rockers. Piston valve clashing would suck.

Comp cam spring compressor does 2 valves at the same time. How are you keeping the valves up? Looks like that blue point box is almost all that you need. Ive got the same. Good for portability. Great video.
If you spin the cam it will seat the lifters up in trays with no resistance to push them down they will stay up. I do recommend using dial rods tho chris just choose not to .
Yes he did replace the push rods because the was changed and the stock ones would no longer work. As far as the springs it is a very good idea and I wouldn't recommend doing the cam with out doing them as well
Akatsukimaro honestly with the upgraded springs and it being NA I don't see that you would really have a need to be changing them periodically. But I could be wrong
After so many miles ,probably 60k or 30k , it is recommended to remove one spring set and test it out and see if there is any changes when compressing it . But being a.600 lift it should last a lot miles
Yes it is very important to have the car tuned after a cam installation especially but not a bad idea after any kinda of aftermarket parts are added to be able to optimize the effectiveness of the new parts. Also don't be scared of tuners just do some research on local business with actual reviews its not scary there job is literally to make your car better 😉

Looks like a perfect time to do a header install. Nice and easy access to the bolts.
Thank you for this. Looks much easier than I expected. Now I'm confident.
