  • "Personally, I could not get enough of Jim's writing: "Cars crawl past all stuffed with eyes, street lights shed their hollow glow. Your brain seems bruised with numb surprise. Still one place to go. Let me sleep all night in your soul kitchen." I mean, that is like fucking nothing I've ever heard in a rock song. So, I was down." -John Densmore

The Doors channel is the official RUclips home of classic Doors live performances, The Doors albums, and contemporary performances and content honoring The Doors featuring John Densmore and Robby Krieger.
With an intoxicating, genre-blending sound, provocative and uncompromising songs, and the mesmerizing power of singer Jim Morrison’s poetry and presence, The Doors had a transformative impact not only on popular music but on popular culture.
The Doors’ arrival on the rock scene in 1967 marked not only the start of a string of hit singles and albums that would become classics, but also of something much bigger - a new and deeper relationship between creators and audience. Refusing to be mere entertainers, the Los Angeles quartet relentlessly challenged, confronted and inspired their fans, leaping headfirst into the heart of darkness while other bands warbled about peace and love. Though they’ve had scores of imitators, there’s never been another band quite like them.

Jim still trying to turn us all round and round! He always emotion-ed gravity for certain endurance. One must open the walls of mystery, strip show! Always finite in the end, yet always reluctant on the path of credited awareness. Like most poetry, the man behind it builds its myths! #RIP 51 years without!

    Good morning John
It's an Honor to know all of you
I knew Rick n Ray n Helen up in Isabella
    Were fairly good friends
Worked for them for awhile off n on
    Worked around Ricks' house occasionally
I knew who they were but we never spoke of it
He told me @ one time that he had a brother that was an Orange County Cop
Then ended up working for Jim and Grace
Pieces were falling together a little @a time
For me I've met a lot of very influential people thru the years like David Byrne sings about
I've met the people you read about in books and after Jim and Graces' I started hearing a song by Boz Skaggs
    Lido Shuffle
    "The Lee Doe Shuffle"
    For weeks on end
    Everyday
    Many times a day
Drove me Mean Angry for awhile
Mad@Everyone for doin' me this way!
    Then came to the conclusion
    It's a job
    Just get it done!
Was there just long enough to grab a handle off the Top
So I had to start Toe'n the Line😳
Their story as well as my mop handle
Remember the DWTS story about dancing with my mop
    That was 95
    Since then
    Besides finding my Ex
The common denominator I've found with everybody
    Spoken or not
    We're all people
    That just want out
Completely devoted and committed to those two tasks
    Period!
    Whatever it takes
I've wondered many times if I wasn't just gonna be another sacrifice or not but
    Full Steam A Head😬
Whether I get there or not
What goes on in my Head is far from the story that plays out
    Would Love to be that
Love story with the happy ending but it doesn't let me live that Way
    Just do it
    In my Ear Always
    Angrily and Mean it is
Those big 4000K TVs have nothin' on my brain
    Like virtual reality
    Everything connected
    The Good
    The Bad
Whatever I have to do to get them there
    Scary many nights but
    like Tom Petty sings
    You Can Stand Me Up
    @The Gates Of Hell
    I Wont Back Down!
    That's who I am
I can differentiate between myself and my Role but they are so intertwined it's hard to separate the two @most times
That has to be an amazing piece of History that book
Really an Honor to know you all
I go thru these "scenes" out there on the road and people are oohs and ahhs but it's different for me
They go home to their Families and Friends
I just go to the next scenario
    So debilitating
Has beat the Life right outta me
All I am and know is
    Get There Or Not!
Doesn't matter what hat I have to wear
Thanks for the PFC work you did
    Means more than you know
    I do a lot of this🙏
    I don't tell anyone tho
A lot of angry cussing also
Try to keep that quiet but sometimes it's a vent
Always have the proverbial dice hang'n on my mirror
    Absolutely Hate Them!
    Thanks Again🙂

When I was a boy of around 5 or something, around the Bicentennial.. Dear ole Dad had two rock-n-roll records, and they were Weird Scenes . . . weirdly enough, he was just into guitar jazz, Wes Montgomery, Charlie Byrd, Tony Mattola, Feliciano.. like that, and Big Band. Had ONE (double) rock album, said a friend convinced him to buy it. My brother'd put it on.. Horse Latitudes always scared the heLL outta me, but i loved The Spy and The End.. Love Her Madly... Anyway, I never knew it til thru college and a couple decades of career struggle ~over 80 jobs, stopped counting, but I got some kinda idea that maybe I got Jim's soul when he left his body. I doodled constantly, won a scholarship and barely, very lazily over 8 years earned a BFAS degree. More interested in my next bag and dose and shrooms and women who were either out of my league or ones whom I thought were out-of-mine.. no job, just scraping by on 50$ a week from home. Most other art students in that school had no vision.. they were illustrators, not really fine artists. Now days here in the "Deep South" I live in a century-old dump of a house, day-drinking (night too) listening to everything on RUclips and watching the songbirds i feed playing around and pecking their order. Got instruments, a '66 Jazzmaster Dad left me, a bass etc, and a kiddie drum set i arranged to play like Maureen of the VU but on the key bed of a really old studio grand that I gutted the action and keys out of.. sounds so deep with the harp still in there reverberating everything 100x more than normal. Ah, this got too long, hope this reaches you, John. When the music's over, x's on my eyes.

What a beautiful beautiful kitley put together! Just the Box alone would cost $400. I was wanting you to keep reading the Poetry it meant a lot with you reading it.

Very cool. Jim was quite the graphic artist as well. Also, The explanation of the lyrics to Texas Radio & The Big Beat was eye opening. I always wondered what those lyrics meant.✅🆒 (I play drums too, John.)

It seems to be a better production than the Kurt Cobain repro notebook, at least. Not only are Jim’s words more interesting but his scribbles are actually legible. Kurt would probably not approve of either publication, however.

Thanks, Densmore. I can’t tell you how happy a dude born in the late ‘70s is for seeing you not only promoting, but enjoying a New Creation that us Doors Fans can also get & sink our teeth in to. I hope you’re feeling as great as you look, because you damn sure deserve it

I got the collected works of Jim Morrison. This is different. I don’t think you can get this in the US. Can anyone tell me if I can?

John Densmore on the 'Plandemic' so so cool. Yes more on their fame I guess as John said, but mine as his eyes are open. 1:20--1:45. Are you a sight through sore eyes?

His father was well-read and Jim was educated in the classics, so there’s no surprise that he could write well. Good readers make good writers.
