Thanks so much for your answer about our 9 week old cockapoo. We are playing games and making sure he has lots of exercise in our garden until he can go out properly. We have never experienced this growling and groaning with our other dogs, and making a huge fuss when picked up when we want to stop him doing something. We do a lot of distracting, but how should we actually respond to his fuss making?
Get him out now in quiet locations for the romping and physical and mental draining without overdoing it of course. Each time he growls, immediately put him down and leave alone fully for 1 minute and then return and ignore initially. Assuming he’s calm he can stay, - growling and he goes out again. He’s not in pain anywhere? Could he be guarding something?
It’s so strange he’s a lovely little puppy and is fine being picked up when calm, but it’s like he’s really spoilt and frustrated when being stopped doing something he wants to do. It’s a worry and we want to make sure we give him a good start in life and respond correctly. Are cockapoos known for this?
How would you transport 8/9 week old puppy in car. Use portable crate in boot, or in sling or bed inside. Puppy was sick when bringing him home first time.
On a passenger’s lap is good for the first few rides then into a crate and practice daily, building g up trips as you go. Push through the sickness if any. Avoid feeding an hour before or after the journey. Thanks.
Hi we have a 15 week old cockapoo male , however last couple of days has started growling only when being moved for eg off a bed or moved into crate starts growling please help?
Nick we have always let our puppies cry at night but I read so many comments about getting up the let them out in the night. My puppy will be 8 weeks when we get her can she be left to cry through the night.
You are doing a good job of the youtube. Don't be intimidated. Your experience and skill shines through whatever format you use.
Thank you for the kind and positive words Catherine. If I could give out sticky badges, you'd get a nice gold one.
Just to clarify do we go out of the room or do we put him somewhere else?
Either could work, but I usually put the pup out in a utility room or similar.

There’s definitely no food/resource guarding. As to pain, he appears fine?
My cockapoo puppy who is 9 weeks old is making growling and groaning noises when we pick him up if he’s over excited. Any advice pls
Manage him so that’s he’s not getting over excited. Allow plenty of romping about in open safe spaces to dissipate that energy.

I would speak to someone local to you that can take a look at this to formulate a plan to overcome it.
Can I crate train but still use another bed in another room. Will this confuse the pupoy
That should be fine Carol.

Do as you have always done. Thanks.
