    To me, it is a slippery slope to talk like that and Really opens up the weirdest behavior. I was in a faith based book group and the leader said she was in an abusive relationship for 7 years “Because god told her to stay in it”, I RAN from that group.

      The great saint St Rita was in a most abusive sacramental marital relationship with a murderer and cheat. She was told to stay in her relationship by God. He was eventually was murdered by a rival but not after 18 years of marriage. She produced two sons who took their father's charge even to avenge his death. Sister Rita prayed for her son's as she had prayed for her husband's conversion and her children died of dysentery seen as a blessing from her prayer instead of them leading violent lives after their father. Afterwards she became a nun. Part of her canonization comes from her testimonial as a faithful wife enduring such brutality. We all are given crosses in life and to run from your cross is to take your hand from the plow and look back. He who tries to keep their life will lose it yet he who loses their life for Christ's sake shall gain it. Any priest would direct such a person in an abusive relationship to leave it but it is only God who would instruct such to stick it out and see how God can take a bad situation and bring about a greater good. It is difficult to see Jesus in others especially when they live such deplorable lives but we are all made in God's image and likeness. Some may say God doesn't give us more than we can bear but this contextually refers to temptation and not igregious circumstances.

      People often get confused when they hear the voice of the devil, because it sounds like God. The devil has learned how to sound like God to confuse people and lead them astray but the pesron on the recieving end of that message cant tell the difference. So we all need to becareful when we hear a voice that tells you to do something that goes against your heart and also of course anything that goes against the word of god.

Many blessings to you and keep up your work sending the message of the the good news of Jesus and His Church to the world.

    My personal thought is he speaks to us each in the ways that impact us the most. I have never had the “I heard the voice” but my husband on the other hand has had several encounters that were direct messages from God. Maybe some of us need that stronger interaction to believe or realize that it’s God at work guiding us.

    Some people do the craziest things in the name of God speaking to them. I am 21 and I have done this. I used to really believe that when I prayed, the thoughts that came to my mind were God's voice. I thought God told me to quit college and go teach English in Costa Rica. Then I came and things didn't go well and now I am moving back home to go to college. I actually stopped praying for a long time and felt confused about my faith because I knew logically that these things that "God was calling me to do" didn't make sense. But when I would tell my Christian friends about it they were like "no, don't stop praying God DOES speak to us and tell us what to do." So I was confused for awhile and my relationship with God suffered. But I am so glad to see your video and see someone else who doesn't believe God directly speaks to us. Your point about studying scriptures and not feeling like you would NEED Him to directly speak to you really stood out to me. I also came to the realization that in the NT I have never read about someone praying asking "what do I do God?" I used to think prayer was almost exclusively for this- so God will tell us which decision to make. But now I know that prayer and meditation of scripture is to prepare our minds, to keep us sober-minded so we can make decisions without needing a voice or signs from God.

For most of the people I met, I believe that they are interpreting their own desires as 'God'. For example, one man I know told me that 'God' told him to be in a polygamous relationship. God always speaks to me just not audibly. He usually speaks in words of instruction and edification. For example, once I prayed the last decade of the Joyful Mysteries for a friend's situation and the thought and meditation lingered after the prayer. I beheld the Tabernacle and thought Jesus how wonderful I found you here in this place. Now Jesus was a bit perturbed and said "No, it's not you who found me it was I that found you! I was never lost now nor ever. Those who are lost are in a panic and I was never in a panic but my parents and the others were. I have never been lost." So now I'm still trying to find what shall I call the final decade of the Joyful Mysteries; "Panic at the Disco?"--probably not. Maybe the panic of Joseph and Mary?
    One time I was frantic and prayed how can I be more like you Jesus make me like You are. Jesus replied, "The world is more Jesus to you than you can be Christ to the world. Do unto the least of these. Find Jesus in those you meet."

    "Blessed is he who believes without seeing" (John 20:29).
    God speaks to us through His Bible and Jesus' words. Dr Peter Kreft says that "books are a way of connecting with another person's mind. It transcends time. When you're reading a book written by a dead person, you are connecting with his ghost, with his spirit, with his mind."
    I've had dreams that I thought were inspired by God. And our mother Saint Mary promised signal graces to those who say the rosary. So I have noticed signals graces, but an unbeliever would just dismiss them as coincidence.

      Joseph Nuesse
      " God speaks to us through His Bible and Jesus' words. "
      Amen brother... Truth!!!
      Hebrews 1:1-2
      1 On many past occasions and in many different ways, God spoke to our fathers through the prophets.
      2 But in these last days He has spoken to us by His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, and through whom He made the universe.
      In John 14, Jesus is telling His disciples that He is going to the Father. Jesus tells the disciples in verse 16:
      John 14:16
      I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, so that He may be with you forever; 17 the Helper is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him; but you know Him because He remains with you and will be in you.
      This Helper is the Holy Spirit and in verse 26, Jesus says: “But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I HAVE SAID to you.”
      The Holy Spirit guided the disciples to record and write the New Testament (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21). For us today, the Holy Spirit enables us to understand and live out God’s Word as we follow Jesus so God speaks to us through His word under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

    I think God speaks to everyone in different ways. While you don't hear God in the same way others do, I believe he does speak to every baptized Christian in some way. God speaks to me a lot through song, there will sometimes be songs that I hear which are so close to what I'm experiencing that it sounds almost like the words were just for me. Many people hear God speak to them through scripture. If ever a certain verse stands out to you, that is God speaking to you.
    As it comes to images and hearing words, I never used to get those either, but I get them more now. I've learned not to overthink it. Those images and thoughts that people have during prayer are often simply the first thing that comes into their minds after asking God a question. The important thing is not to stress, but simply to ask and listen. If you don't get anything though, that's still fine. The best question to practice hearing God's voice is asking him to share with you His heart. He loves to share with us His heart. Try asking God, "How do you see me?" (instead of asking for the bigger choices) and take note of the first thing that comes to mind (be it a word, image, song). That is God speaking to you. You also may try asking God for something for another person, "What is your heart for this other person?," and then you can share that with the other person if you get anything and see if it connects with them.
    One key to hearing God's voice more is believing that you can hear his voice, because he says we can, "My sheep hear my voice. I know them, and they follow me," (John 10:27). Try praying "In the name of Jesus, I believe and declare that I can hear your voice." It would be a lie if you thought that you couldn't hear God's voice. If you believe that lie, try praying, "In the name of Jesus, I renounce the lie that I can't hear God's voice". Also, listening for God's voice has a childlike dimension. We are most able to hear his voice when we approach him with childlike faith. That's a bit of my journey and what has helped me to hear God's voice more in my life. I also used to think I never heard God's voice. Just because God hasn't spoken to you doesn't mean he never will, but it takes practice.

    • @chelsead8142
      @chelsead8142 Год назад

      Of course, everything you think you hear from God needs to be discerned, because sometimes we could just think things from our own human perspective or from an evil spirit, which we want to avoid. You will know a thought is from God and not an evil spirit if it is encouraging and if it doesn't conflict with any truths laid out in the bible or Catholic teaching. Sometimes it's hard to tell human thoughts vs. God's thoughts, that's sometimes where our reason has to come in.

    Your videos have been really helpful so i would like to offer something valuable in your walk. I believe god led me here for a reason and with certainty you will be experiencing him directly soon. In your studies, you may have come in contact with what people call "mystical" experiences in which lots of claims are made. In other religions, it is called enlightenment, moksha, somati, etc. In Christianity, it is the actual born again experience in this life that few professing Christians actually recall having. In this experience, you encounter the alpha and omega directly, you remember who you were before you were named, you recall your life purpose (why you were born), and you discover the answer to every question you ever had about life. With this you feel God which is like every single emotion combined times a thousand. All of which at the core is the highest love possible. It cannot be mistaken for a hallucination or the devil for in that moment it feels like pure love and he that is loves all infinitly. This is much greater than hearing a voice in your head and its your destiny to find it. When you do, please tell me the perspective of the approach from the female direction. You'll know why im asking that when it happens. God bless 🙌

If you search and study Mystical theology you will find that God "talking directly" is extraordinary, is not a common thing.
    My experience: Once I got an interior locution, that helped me to go confess, and ttwo times I received visions while praying but later I realized that it was only an "imagination thing". Praying also sometimes brings feelings to God, but its not so often.

      @friendlyTroll I've tried to force myself to believe in God before and it just didn't work. I have journal's where I've tried writing my prayers to a God and I just don't belive in it even though I've tried. As a kid I believed because I was told to and as I grew up it just didn't make sense and didn't sink in. I go to church with my fiance even though I don't believe. When I tried to force myself to be religious I started watching lizzie and I kept it up just because I like her personality and stuff but it just doesn't sink in even when I try.

    God gives us free will, however I believe God will nudge you without you knowing. like reading a passage from the Bible that you needed at that time, or a red light that prevented you from being in an area 30 seconds down the road you didn't need to be at that moment, quick example, I was driving a stick shift, my light turns green, I accidently pop the clutch and stalled out, just than a big rig ran the red light and drove through the area I would have been had I not stalled out. God has a hand in what we do even if we don't realize its him.

    Dear Miss Lizzie, i don´t know why God has never spoken to you audibly and i don´t pretend to have the answer. I only want to tell you that our Lord Jesus has spoken to me audibly on 4 or 5 different occasions and i was tremendously surpised! What is wrong and why has He not spoken to you? Probably nothing, but let me ask you a question. If you read the Bible and i´m sure you do then you know that after Jesus went to heaven after 10 days he sent the Holy Spirit into the world and He is going to take care of the "church" until Jesus returns. Question: Have you earnestly asked Jesus to baptize (i.e. fill you) with His Holy Spirit? Have you asked your prayer group to pray for you and your group of believers ? That is how untold multitudes of catholics became "charismatic" and are now on fire for God! 💗🙏Israel Perez viewing from Guatemala, C.A.

    Have you ever talked with someone you don't know personally? That is the issue here. Relationship is key and there is always two way communication in healthy relationships.
    You must have the holy spirit Romans 8:9, Acts 2:38 for this communication to take place at an intimate level.
    John 16:13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. (A guide speaks to you and leads the way for you to follow, notice, he WILL SPEAK and TELL YOU)

      Hi, thank you for your post. I believe Christ in the Great Discourse - his great sermon just before the events of his Passion - which you quoted a verse or two from, Jesus is addressing his Apostles, i.e. the Church, the New Israel. The promise to guide into Truth is made to the Church. Granted, on one level, Christ speaks to the individual soul in many ways, and it is crucial that one have a personal relationship with the Lord. However, this relationship must take place within the relationship the individual has with the Church, whom Christ is here addressing. Grace. 💗🙏💗

      There is no “New Israel.” The Church has not become a new Israel, nor has it taken the place of old Israel. Simply put, followers of the Jewish King, believers in the Jewish Messiah make up true (not new) Israel. If those followers are Gentiles, then they have been grafted in and given citizenship in Israel-that is, they have been made part of the people of God.

      How do you know it was God speaking to you? Scripture says He no longer speaks to his people but through HIs Word under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
      2 Corinthians 11:14
      And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.

      At various times God spoke to us through the prophets UNTIL Jesus. Then He spoke to us through His Son.
      Hebrews 1:1-2
      1 God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets,
      2 has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds;
      When Jesus told the disiciples He was going to the Father, Jesus said the He would send ANOTHER HELPER--the Holy Spirit.
      John 16:5-9
      5 “But now I am going to Him who sent Me; and none of you asks Me, ‘Where are You going?’
      6 But because I have said these things to you, grief has filled your heart.
      7 But I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I am leaving; for if I do not leave, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you.
      8 And He, when He comes, will convict the world regarding sin, and righteousness, and judgment:
      9 regarding sin, because they do not believe in Me;
      The Holy Spirit will bear witness about Jesus and teach and guide us in all truth. What is truth? God's word is truth.
      Psalm 119:160
      The entirety of Your word is truth, and all Your righteous judgments endure forever.
      Will there be new revelation? No, not when taken in context. Does the Bible teach there will be new revelation? No, not when read in context. The canon of Scripture was closed after John died around the end of the 1st century A.D.
      Can we make the bible appear to teach there will be new revelation? Absolutely!
      Exactly what position are you in today? You believe something the Bible does not teach. Deception is a powerful tool that Satan uses to lure people away from the truth. That is your spirit.
