if you want some happiness only a dog can give but can't own one yourself, why not volunteer at your local rescue and see how many need your help more than the pockets of those breeders who are the ones responsible for the overloaded rescues in the first place

This needs to be stopped, and people charged with abuse of animals. Cause that's what it is.

This is terrible. Come on people. Enough is enough. Don't support "puppy yoga" marketing as a yoga activity. for profit. The facilitators who are running this like a circus business to be present to be awake and perform so to speak. The puppies need rest for their healthy development. This is not a responsible practice for the well-being of animals and needs to end.

What an absurd trend. Even if it were done with animal welfare provision, it is still ridiculous

No need puppies can run for excersise. People will f9 anything for a buck. Yoga is not intended for animals. Animals dont gave the intelligence to learn true yoga, yoga is not just postures, that is a minut branch of yoga philosophy practice.

Right. It's so weird that THIS is the outcry people subscribe to. But not hungry children in somalia. Not Palestinian camps. Not Israel being thee arms dealer. Not modern slavery. Not the US AND EU being globalist bullies. Not climate control. Not Big Pharma/Big Oil. Not agricultural reform. Not anti capitalism.
....but puppies. Well done major media. Well done citizens.

Arguments in defence of Puppy Yoga:
I’ve been to a few sessions with a local independent business. As far as I could tell, they claimed to use reputable local breeders whom they form a business relationship with and they only use puppies from 8-12 weeks old. It gave the puppies playtime and socialisation while mum could go on a walk. Generally they’d play with each other and the attendees for 20 mins, sleep for 20mins while we did yoga, and then they’d want to play and cuddle again for the last 20mins or so, approximately . If they were too overwhelmed or tired or scared they could go to the back room back to their den / pen. Honestly can’t say I thought to look whether there was water around, but I assume there would be bowls about for the pups. Pups showed no signs of discomfort or fear when playing together and interacting with the people. There happiness and welfare should obviously be the most important thing since they are the stars of the show, so it’s in the organisers best interest to keep them as well looked after as possible...
However, now that it has been pointed out, I can understand that that being picked up and passed around that often as well as the socialising situation probably actually isn’t the best way for their socialisation / development. But I don’t see how it could be entirely detrimental if it’s just for one hour every few months. (They swapped around the litters / changed the breed a lot, never had the same litter doing more than an hour at a time and not within the same week) I only hope that the breeders lived nearby so the pups didn’t have to travel too far in the car... 😕
Also, I know the pups shouldn’t be exploited as entertainment. Overworking them and purposefully disrupting their development for profit is abusive, especially if you force them to do this regularly. But I would debate that giving mum a break for an hour every few months so the puppies can meet some strangers and get used to being away from mum, doesn’t feel overly terrible imo...
Lastly, I would try to argue that we shouldn’t even allow breeding to the extent we do because of the huge amount of abandoned animals in rescues which are already available and in need of adopting, [as with everything we purchase, we should ideally all be buying things secondhand and not new, and sadly, this does include pets] But unfortunately, the world just doesn’t work like that, so we might as well try to appreciate these animals when they’re at this awkward stage between being weened from mum and being bought, even if that means they occasionally come to a puppy yoga session 🤷‍♀️
