  • Here is a link to the adapter I used. Just know compatibility isn't always 100% with these.
Also, I'm not affiliated with this seller in any way.
It was just cheaper on eBay than it was on Amazon lol.
    www.ebay.com/i...
The music I used is from the game Heartbound.
    Check it out on Steam!
    store.steampow...
    Thank you for watching!

I always thought that slow motion button is hilarious! There were so many knock-off controllers since the NES that had it. I remember it actually working quite well with the classic Sonic games on the Genesis back in the day, I think I only had that one knock-off controller back then. Basically, any game that pauses and unpauses instantly in game, you can use it for comfortably except for the fact that your inputs always had a 50-50 shot of not working because of the frame you pressed it on was one where it was paused and therefore your input never registered.

The d pad looks like a piece of gum slapped onto the controller.

It's kind weird how long controllers pushed that slowmo feature. It was a thing back when games almost universally used a pause button on the controller. You paused and walked away. With the master system the pause button was on the console. Usually all it did was freeze things. Spam it and you get your slowmo which can be used as a replacement for good reflexes. Once games started getting fancy and using that button for other stuff then it became a useless feature in most games. I remember using it to cheeze through difficult parts in Abadox for the NES.

The d pad is very reminiscent of an old microsoft sidewinder controller. the xbox duke ha a different less defined d pad.
it's probably a cheap clone, because the sidewinder D pad wasn't that bad in practice it just looks like someone melted the D pad.

There's an N64 controller that looks so much to like a boomerang that even makes the PS3 controller not look like a boomerang. It's almost pointy at the end.

using my middle fingers for the shoulder buttons is how I used to hold PlayStation controllers. Everyone I knew did this, it seemed to have been the intention at one stage, but fell off around the 360 era.

    • @bland9876
      @bland9876 23 дня назад +1

I think it's actually a pretty good use case except analog triggers are kind of weird to use with your middle finger.
Also in the modern times the way that the controllers are set up that have the buttons underneath as part of the grip makes more sense and gives you extra inputs instead of taking way two of your shoulder buttons. Think like the steam deck or the steam controller or the Xbox elite controller.

@@bland9876 The analog triggers, over the analog buttons that the ps2 used, that the ps3 and 360 used are probably why this style of holding controllers fell off.
And the 360 controller is just molded to let a single pair of fingers rest up there.

All the way back to 1998!!
Damn that's a track record. I do have a GOOD couple of Nyko controllers for the Switch, and sadly it seems like sometimes they last long, sometimes they don't. I do love that they experiment though... Although reliability is also expected :P
Also, that mushy Dpad looks horrendous, that's why I adore the typical PS style or the Joy-Con's individual buttons, they still have the feel of a cross but are individually distinct... That donut can just die :v

Speaking of this thing being very comfortable to hold I have a third-party GameCube controller that I actually prefer the shape of it over the official GameCube controller but as you can guess since it's a third party GameCube controller it obviously sucks terrible ass.

I had a really good third party controller from the brand Hip Gear for my PS2 while it didn't have rumble which sucks but it was pretty cheap I actually managed to wear out the left analog stick and it lasted a few years before that

I feel like could try and upgrade the internals. Maybe see if you could get pimped out hall effect sticks for it lmao.
Also try putting the button silicone in boiling water for like a minute? I hear its a decent strategy to get some snappiness back but this might have been mushy from the factory

"This thing doesn't have a home button so I can't go to the memory card options"
Doesn't the PlayStation 1 controllers that have joysticks also have home buttons? They labeled it as analog for some reason which is a weird thing to label a home button but yeah. Changing it to a PlayStation logo on the PS3 made so much sense.

Should check out the Interact SV-1122 Barracuda controller for PS1. Verision 1 not the normal looking version 2 one. It's worse than this Nyko for sure. I had 2 of them. One as a kid which was my only analog controller for the whole duration of the PS1. And another I bought as an adult to see if it's better with big hands. It's not.

Blame big companies for holding patents away from general knowledge. Don't blame mad cats, they was cheap enough, after they was used a while they did mess me up a lot against a person with a regular controller, its like controller training lol weighted training gear.
