You can get like thirty hours on a single charge (also worth mentioning that a lot of game campaigns on PS3 are like half of that, so you can beat a game without ever needing to charge your controller), while PS4 and PS5 controllers don't even last half of that!

You had two chargers connected at the same time, both powering the PSP; bad idea. Definitely caused over-voltage, or at least too much amperage going through the whole thing at the same time...
It uses a psp battery because they have drm on them. It doesn't work with any old battery. Those chinese ones use chips that fool the system but i imagine the madcatz battery wasn't aware a 2200mah battery existed
2 batteries connected together in parallel will Equalizer the voltage to the same amount between both batteries However if 1 battery is totally dead, it will flatten the second battery trying to level out both voltages. I hope your battery is recoverable after a few charges in theory , I hope. If not I'm sorry man
That MadCatz thing has to be running both internal battery and the one you insert into it parallel, and if that's the case, since the internal battery in this thing is probably cooked after sitting in storage for so long, when you inserted your battery into it, the fully charged external battery tried to equalize the voltage with the dead internal one, and the internal battery just drained the shit out of external one (that's why when you make parallel li-ion battery packs it's usually a good idea to make sure that the batteries involved are of simillar voltage within 0.1v). So maybe if you could jumpstart your ostent battery with some kind of external li-ion charger it could spring back to life. I'm not sure though, that's just a theory.

The fan ended up cutting paper lol and tried to connect it to something else and it didn't work. The battery ended up working later after "charging" it with the PSP.
I still have my Datel MAX Media Player 4GB HDD for DS/DS Lite. It was a pathetic precursor to the R4, M3, DSTWO, Supercard, etc. But picking up a used one for $30 in 2007 was still special for giving my DS Lite MP3 and video support, and the 4GB was really spacious for the era. Always wanted one of the newer flash cards though because they’re so much better than the MAX media and run the DS’ best NES/SNES/Genesis/TG16/NeoGeo/ScummVM emulators
You compelled me to buy a psp this week after your videos popped up. Bought an IPS modded 1000 off one of the most reputable sellers on eBay. Sadly there was an eyelash and dust behind the screen and the screw is super stripped above the memory stick! Big sad, gonna return it and try again.. do you have any sellers you could recommend?
you can fix that yourself, use a bigger screw bit. the bezel comes off easy then just blow the screen with compressed air. or hell you can mod it yourself it doesn't need any soldering
A year or so ago I got a GameBoy Color rechargeable grip battery pack. I got it thinking it be an awesome project to replace the old batteries in it with newer ones and so on
You should look into getting a Slitit or ZipIt package opener instead of taking a knife to everything. I always wanted a PSP 3000 MHB for the ergonomics but when that was new, I was too young to afford importing it.

Yea... Charging everything at once wasn't my best idea lol. As for the HDD Ive tried to remove it from the board but it just won't budge. Not sure what I would be able to replace it with tbh. It's hard to beat micro SD to memory stick duo adapters.
Try disassembling the batteries and pushing their banks with an external power supply, + to +, - to -, PSP batteries have a controller, that does not allow them to come out of deep discharge.
I'm gonna warn you and everyone reading this right now and maybe they can be proactive on it: When you get arthritis finally, you WILL think the PSP 1000 is impossible to use. When you have the condition, it isn't ergonomic, it's painful and completely unplayable. If you think your hands are starting to get old SELL YOUR 1000 AND BUY A 2000/3000! Best PSP choice in my life.

Unfortunately no. You just kinda have to get lucky on eBay in my experience. Even great sellers can be rough sometimes.
