Scroll Saw Techniques for INCREDIBLE ARTWORK!

  • I used all natural wood colors. No paint, dye, or stain was used to make this scroll saw project. I saw this picture in a Fantastic Four comic and knew I had to figure out how to turn it into scroll saw artwork. It can be difficult to take artwork and make it into a woodworking project and this was no exception. I do love how the picture frame turned out. I knew I wanted a wood picture frame that coordinates well with the artwork. If you want to see how that was made then go to my main channel Newton Makes.

In my option, the journey is what makers enjoy the most. Yes, the journey is long and tedious but when the finale product comes out looking this good it makes it even more worth it. Stay awesome.

I used canary wood for a Macaw intarsia and finished it with shellac. The piece I had was much more of a yellow orange color though but the shellac did a great job of not changing the color I thought

There are and it doesn't stay green. It turns brown over time even when protected by a film finish. I have a beautiful Poison Ivy picture that proves it. It's a shame because I agree that it's a great shade of green.
