- This is the review of the LG SC9S 3.1.3 soundbar system that supports many popular technologies and comes with a wireless subwoofer. I’ve used this soundbar with many different TVs, including C3 OLED for which it was tailor-made. Let’s see what are my impressions after the test.

I bought this soundbar for 600 CAD considering price and my specific needs (apartment and a not so big room) it’s perfect. Thankfully my ears have not been spoiled yet to truly nitpick the sound quality. Perfect example it blew my mind when you said the sub was lacking.

@@korndudit was one of those bestbuy “open box” deals. Soundbar showed up pristine no issues at all. Worst case scenario I’d just have to send it back and get a refund. Or sell it for more.
I need this for an apartment too, walls are thin. Is it too loud for apartment living?

its not hooked up right !!!!! dont use the bluetooth this is why your not getting the full sound
use the arc and then you will have it loud and powerful and you can clearly hear the back spks ....yes some are hooking them up wrong
the blue tooth is for only music from your cell phone and you need to mute alexa before when watching movies or tv she will talk
Hi - I was using eARC for all critical listening, not Bluetooth connection.

I have the lg dsc9s but I want rear speakers for it. I see multiple answers about the compatibility with spq8-s. Some say it connects, but some say it don’t. What rear speakers do I buy for the dsc9s?
spq8-s is the right speaker. it has 2 speakers and a receiver

Hi, /gosman, it will work with hdmi E-arc on any tv that supports it
So with the C4 you plug it into hdmi 2 and it works as an audio out
keep an eye on the LG C4's if you are planning to buy one
I have seen a few deals on where this soundbar is included free in the deal
2 hdmi. Does this mean if u connect soundbar using hdmi you don't loose taken hdmi by soundbar cos u can plug xbox to 2nd hdmi on the soundbar? Meaning soundbar works as passthrough?
Hey - that it correct - soundbar can pass-through the signal from the external device to the TV. It just doesn't support 4K 120 HDR VRR as pointed out just before the conclusion.
Will the WOW features like WOW Orchestra and others work with LG G4?
They should work - I'll test it on QNED86 soon.
I need a replacement subwoofer which model is compatible with the SC9S bar?
Seems no replacements are available, but check with the LG service center which options exist.

Would you get this or good stereo speakers like Klipsch The Nines? (I have a C3)
Without a doubt I'd get Klipsch. I've been using this soundbar in my living room since I've finished the test and definitely it sounds inferior to my floor-standers that I had before. If you are limited by space, sure, soundbars are a great option, but for me they offer too big compromise when it comes to sound quality.
I have 55" LG OLED C7 from 2017, and I wonder if the soundbar mounting bracket will fit - the bracket mounting (the rectangular chunky plastic part with 4 screw holes that goes into the tv) looks similar to the stand mounting on my C7, but I have to be sure. My old LG OLED is my pride and joy, and now this soundbar is on sale...

How to test the dts x channel callout test?
You need to download it and play it on TV/media player which supports this format. Just google this test name and you’ll find where to get it.
How many inches is Subwoofer ?
Speaker diameter? I’ve measured 19 cm through the cloth, should be 7 or 7.5 inch.
How does the soundbar connect to the LG OLED C3 TV?
Optical, Bluetooth, and the best choice is HDMI cable

They seem to be similar in audio terms. Do you have C2/3 OLED? If yes and you plan to use the mounting bracket, then better get SC9S.
I have a 42 in? Is that a problem with the bracket? @ 1:32 you mentioned
It is only compatible with 55, 65 and 77” models.

I have the same soundbar but on 06:08 i see on your phone the button sound effect Standard.
Mine is PCM en Yours is on Dolby Atmos.
How do you set that to Dolby Atmos?
Hey - you need to send bitstream (pass-through) signal to the soundbar and not decode it to PCM in order to see Dolby Atmos / other formats in the app.

I have a 55” LG OLED C3 and wanted to upgrade the audio with a sound bar. Im interested in the SC9S because it comes with a bracket to make it fit under the TV. However i have the TV on a shelf thats not very deep. Can i please have the dimensions of the entire footprint of the soundbar and the table stand it comes with? Thank you so much 👍
The stand bracket has deep 25,5cm with the Sound Bar on top the bracket

Also btw when using Wow orchestra, so volume level shows properly on TV when adjusting volume? I hate that with other sound bars there is no UI for it anymore when a sound bar is used instead of TV speakers.
That is coming from the TCL TV the soundbar was connected to.

Ah yes, Logitech at its golden age! Remember reading about their Z series and at one point I had Z5300 system, but at the end settled with Technics stereo system.
Hi , can you share the dimensions of the synergy bracket when used as a tv stand especially the depth ? I can’t find it any where
One call out is that I realized is that using Optical Video has limitations on number of channels supported, I don't think it can support Dolby Atmos, so it would be great to understand those nuances so people set up their cables correctly. eARC still confuses me on how to setup properly

Does it have to be LG tv for you to have a good quality sound?
No, it can be any TV. With compatible LG TVs you get Synergy effect by using both TV and soundbar speakers at the same time. However, in my tests and actual use, I haven’t seen any real benefit.

Which one should i go for lgsp8a or lgsc9s because lgsp8a is configured with meridian one and i haven't seen any of such in lgsc9s. Does meridian plays a major role in sound difference between lg sp8a vs lg sc9s

Seems not, only C series.
Does it have Meridian sound? LG's catalogues available at stores says it has but it is nowhere mentioned on packing neither on product.
No, I don't think this is Meridian-verified/tuned soundbar.
@@TVguyDarko yes I checked with LG support they told its not Meridian one. But stores like reliance they are selling it on meridian printed on their catalogue.
I have a problem with the sound bar the dialouge is very low but when action hit its very loud. I have c3 lg
I had the same issue but it is easily fixed in the app. Go in and boost the middle channel and overhead channel to like 3-4 this makes the soundbar much more rounded

@@TVguyDarko da! Puno bolji! Lg ima problem sa wooferom on jednostavno nije dovoljno duboki. A za slusanje muzike ima jacinu ali nekako nije to to kako bi trebalo biti. Jedini mode koji je bio slusljiv kod mog lg-ja bio je movie. A samsung q930 znaci manji brat od q990 druga je dimenzija soundbara.

Why showing meridian sound in lg Manifest it was not in sc9s
Vocals are weak can't hear dialogues weak center
It’s pretty simple to fix… just boost the middle and upfiring speakers in the app till it sounds balanced. Doesn’t take much effort
These sound bars are not available in lndia,so this video is at present useless 😅
