So for me a huge part of it is I rarely drink in comparison to my friends who easily spent an extra 3-5 mil a month on drinks! I’m a penny pincher who loves a good deal ! But still super super cheap to live in vietnam :)
Thanks so much for supporting the channel! If you can sub im releasing an update on the situation here in Vietnam, visas, and is it possible to get in. I’ll release the video sometime this week :)
Hey bro! I was looking on RUclips "Monthly cost of living Vietnam" and came across your video. So interesting! I made similar cost of living videos on Da Nang, Nha Trang, Saigon and Phu Quoc but your point of view is different and very interesting! I forgot to mention phone bills on mine cause I never use it but I should def keep that in mind! Thanks so much for taking your time to create these videos. I know the time and effort it takes. Keep creating!
@@TonyOi lol I believe it. The last time I went I didn't want to come back home 😭. We were there for a month but I don't feel like a month was enough time to explore. My wife is Vietnamese so it made things way easier for me. I keep telling her I can't wait to go back.
wow! under 700/mth. soo good. 8min to pack it in, perfect.. nice quality of video, and also how well i think you tend to format everything... really i think theres too little on support technology out there thats useful for teaching. i'd love you to do something on this.. thanks!
It’s honestly brilliant for the facilities that we have :) yeah let me see if I can create a video for that! Thanks for watching and commenting yet again Bruce your a legend!
I've seen videos on buses, but hardly anyone talks about them. Why is that? I think it was 25¢. I'm in my 60's & prefer not to use motor bikes anymore; mostly because I'm afraid of other drivers. Bus seems like a great option. What do you have to say about them?
I used buses before here and it was really easy actually and it’s super affordable. I don’t use them often because I’m a seasoned veteran driving motorbikes across Asia 😅 so I’m used to it but the bus system works fine!
@@TonyOi thanks a lot. I've been riding motorcycles all my life, but the thought of injury at my age terrifies me. All my parts work. Risk v reward. Love bikes, but not at the price of disability.👍
@@TonyOi Still waiting on this. Now that the situation is improving. Could you also confirm what the current travel restrictions are for foreign tourists?
Hi ! I'm glad it was useful for you. Masteri an phu is the tower I live in. BUt the area you'll want to look at which is catered to expats is Thao Dien
difficult for foreigners to own property here. Generally always needs to have a vietnamese owner partly owned by foreigner. I'm no expert but this is something I've heard.
Property in VN is so expensive now. For a 2 bedroom in Ho chi MInh City , u can'f find any condo for under 130K dollars..5 years ago u can find a condo for 45K, but not anymore
I'm moving to Vietnam to work as a math teacher at an international school in District 2. I think I'll be living in Thao Dien, can you tell me the name of the building to research my accomodation there? It looks so nice and well-located. Is there malls, groceries stores, supermarkets and all these kinds of places close to the building? Thank you in advance
I like your video for the most part but when you give prices in V and D and his vera confusing if he’s smart simpler if you just keep prices in USD or Canadian dollars
No. What he meant is that it is a fixed price. It doesnt matter if there are 10 people living in that apartment. That's is why they share the costs, you know?
Cheap, cheap, cheap….. Sounds a little condescending to the local people who have to struggle every day. I’m just being facetious, given thaT Canadians complain about foreigners driving up their cheap real estate.
Just cheap in comparison to what I was paying in Canada. For example my phone was about 80$ vs 6$ here. The Video is targeted to people moving to vn not locals :) but I do see your pov
@@TonyOi , I'm just being contrarian. Imagine a video inviting foreigners to buy cheap Canadian real estate. Canadians would be riled up and want to ban the foreigners or tax them -- the Canadians already are riled up!
My dog Toni got a RUclips! Miss ya guys and glad to see your still there. I left in June 2021 back to FL. Hope all the fella’s are good!

Thanks for sharing! It’s a lot cheaper than I expected. I’ve seen other spend more but it still doesn’t seem like you’re short-changing yourself.

Not sure if you've put out any videos in terms of visas. How does one move to Vietnam? Business visa or a work permit?
I can defs make a video on that soon !

Fair point. People only care about their own situation 9 times out of 10 though
When I was in Vietnam in 1969, I had some cheap housing, it was called a FOXHOLE!
