You're such an inspiration! I'm in the US, and I am working on starting a home bakery out of my apartment this summer! I want to open my own vegan bakery/cafe, and I'm excited to take the first steps. I will be doing home deliveries as well as farmers markets, and your videos are a very useful resource, as well as very entertaining. Thank you for all that you do and I wish you all the best! Cheers!
Best of luck to you Allison! If you need any help just let me know 💕
@@LilysLoaf Hi Both - How did you/are you going to make that first step from home baking (for fun, family and friends) to a more commercial (income-orientated) business? any advice would be gratefully received
@@_Dadz I am a retired baker who keeps my hands in the mix (pardon the pun) by baking and selling for a farmers market here in Michigan. I find Lily inspirational, and more young people should follow her lead. I use a home oven, which can hold 5 loaves of bread, 4 pies, or two trays of cinnamon rolls. It can be done. The key is planning and using your time efficiently.
Hi Allison, best of luck , I’m also in Pennsylvania and starting my vegan bakery hopefully this summer, your comment caught up my eye, if you don’t mind telling where you locate, I can use your advice if you don’t mind, thanks again
@@_Dadz hello! It's definitely a big scale up going from home baker to professional business and can take time (slow and steady is my motto in business so far!)... I'm now offering one on one bespoke online consultations where I help go through all the transitions and how to build your very own micro bakery if that's something you might be interested in? Let me know, I'd love to help :)
I really love your vibe,, 🍞😮❤
aww thank you! 🌸
im binge watching your videos
I feel like an addict to your vlogs - I always looking forward to it as you are such an inspiration- best of luck
thank you so much for being here 🥰
Hi Lily! Good to see you! Hope you had a great Easter.
Looking forward to this ❤
I wish you the best of luck with your business! Remember as your business grows and scales you will probably need to think of hiring staff or outsourcing the things that can be done by someone else for cheaper. I recommend a book called SCALE it teaches you everything you need to grow and scale a business the right way without it failing. Love the videos keep it up!
Is everything you make sourdough? Or do you do some regular yeast products?
regular yeast products too!
This looks like a lot of fun! How do I apply for a job in a bakery without any experience? 😅
you could always try asking for work experience first (bakery stage) and see how you go! You never know they might need more people on their team!
Thanks Lily, lovely to see a full day's work....do you have a recipe ebook,or a recipe for your sourdough loaves...also,what temperature is your fridge for overnight?
hello! I'm currently working on an ebook & micro bakery course so will let you know when it's available! Fridge is set to 1c :) x
@@LilysLoaf thank you Lily ,once I get permission to sell to the public,(interview on Friday...wish me luck)i will deliver by car,but I saw your delivery bicycle...where did you get the container on it from?
@@fairyrelaxation best of luck to you! It's a cargo bike which comes with the box on the front especially for deliveries :)
@@LilysLoaf thanks so much❤
Hi Lily! Thanks again for again for sharing. I was inspired by you and took on my first market and it went great! Just wanted to say keep up the good work. Also wondering how did you build your website? Did you use a generator like WIX or Squarespace? Having a hard time find a simple and easy to use layout. Thanks!
hey Brea, amazing work!! I used wix as a template for my website :) have heard good things about squarespace too though!
@@LilysLoaf thanks for your response Lily! I will check it out. The baking part is the easy part compared to all the other logistics haha.
Can I you what app you use for your video editing? I’ve been binge watching your clips ever since I discovered you on here few days ago! I’m so inspired by your story. I love how genuine and transparent you are. I’m starting a knitting business (while still working 9-5). Hopefully I can also make my dream come true❤
hey Yoshie! Thank you so much for your lovely comment, so happy to have you here! I use final cut pro on my laptop to edit my videos :) best of luck for your knitting business... tell me your instagram/ where I can follow 💕
@@LilysLoaf How kind of you, Lily. The handle name of my knit biz is Momohana Kobo. It doesn’t have much contents yet. Hopefully I will start posting regularly in a month or so. Thank you for sharing the app you use for your video editing! I’ll look into it. Your clips (and your voice!!) is so therapeutic. I’m so happy that I found you.
Hello Lily :) Maybe you mentioned it somewhere but I haven't noticed. What do you do with SD discard?
hey Natalia, I make crackers from leftover starter! ruclips.net/video/qjQvL5oi94o/видео.html. I now base mine off this recipe: www.kingarthurbaking.com/recipes/sourdough-crackers-recipe x
@@LilysLoaf Thank you Lily, I will try it. :) I am sad when I have to throw the discard away but also as I do not bake that often and I have a lot of discard from trying to keep my strater alive so I am sick of baking the discard banana bread all the time :D
@@natalialamosova153 so true, it feels like such a waste!! You could also try making sourdough crumpets (look up trash crumpets by Martha de Lacey) or I'm going to share a recipe soon for a little sourdough currant bun which would use it up too!
what music are you listening to?
podcasts normally, or lots of Aretha Franklin recently!
Are your hot cross buns one a penny or two a penny? Lol
Well they look delicious !!
