    FEUD: Bette and Joan, the first installment of the new FX anthology series from Ryan Murphy, tells the story of the legendary rivalry between Joan Crawford (Jessica Lange) and Bette Davis (Susan Sarandon) during their collaboration on the Academy Award®-nominated thriller What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?, and well after the cameras stopped rolling. The series explores how the two women endured ageism, sexism, and misogyny while struggling to hang on to success and fame in the twilight of their careers.
    In addition to Academy Award winners Lange and Sarandon, the cast includes Alfred Molina as the film’s director Robert Aldrich, Stanley Tucci as studio titan Jack Warner, Judy Davis as gossip columnist Hedda Hopper, Jackie Hoffman as Crawford’s housekeeper Mamacita, and Alison Wright as Aldrich’s assistant Pauline.
    Notable guest stars include Dominic Burgess as Crawford and Davis’ co-star Victor Buono, Catherine Zeta-Jones as film star Olivia de Havilland, Sarah Paulson as Geraldine Page, Kathy Bates as Joan Blondell and Kiernan Shipka as B.D., Bette Davis’ daughter.
    FEUD: Bette and Joan is created by Ryan Murphy and Jaffe Cohen & Michael Zam. Ryan Murphy serves as Executive Producer along with Executive Producers Dede Gardner of Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment, Tim Minear and Alexis Martin Woodall. The series is produced by Fox 21 Television Studios.

    I had no idea Catherine zeta was ina prosthetic and I don’t even mean that as a dig, she’s so gorgeous I though she’d just aged super gracefully as she does.

    Both actors were awesome.... the story was quite a fantasy... not without meaning. The one question I have is For Susan Sarandon... who did you vote for in the last presidential election? Are you satisfied with your choice?

      I disagree . I think Jessica Lang really looked like Crawford with out going way over the top like faye did in mommy dearest . Its really hard when you have seen so many people do Joan & Betty . Betty was a dark ash blonde not a brown reddish color hair as Susan has it . I thought it was going to be another old boring Diva on Diva cat show . I actually thought they both did an excellent job .

      What would you rather have? A replica of a young Joan Crawford who acts ok, or have a very talented Jessica Lange come in and kind of look like her but completely shine as Joan and embody the spirit and act brilliantly!

      @@michaelneel4828 Faye Runaway was phenomenal as Joan, not only the way she looked but her acting was too notch,, when I'm watching Jessica Lange who looked to "" thick"" I have to think of Faye to make it work

    The Olivia De Havilland presentation baffled me. Not the Olivia I've seen. Not in looks, voice or personality. I would be interested in learning more about this casting choice from the producers...

    • @ClarenceFisher
      @ClarenceFisher 4 года назад +1

      It's strange, she wasn't a lot like Olivia, but at the same time she was completely unrecognizable as Catherine Zeta Jones. Unbelievable. Somebody said she looked and sounded more like Janet Leigh, which is pretty spot on.

    • @BELINDA_Lane
      @BELINDA_Lane 3 месяца назад

      Olivia deHaviland sued because she was still very much alive and no one reached out to her, Zeta-Jones was totally miscasted

      @@BELINDA_Lane Belinda, I'm into this because FEUD, Bette & Joan, just popped up on my Hulu screen a few weeks ago and I was forced to rewatch it to get to the new Feud, Capote Vs. The Swans. Odd. So I certainly liked this but again with casting - I won't say either Bette or Joan was miscast but I thought Susan Saradon was a little too pretty to be Bette (not that that is of upmost importance) and appeared normal and grounded (you rooted for her) over the psychotic, spooky Joan. Maybe this is an accurate description? Jessica Lange was probably great here, but just such a - something - presence. Its hard to define. Get out of her way! Ryan Murphy, if he is responsible for what was presented, is incredibly talented & unique with so many productions. But my radio station's morning host in LA said he flipped her off on the freeway so beware!

    Im surprised that no mentions that Bette Davis' Baby Jane make-up was just a repeat for her-----that dead lead / lily-white look was previously done for Elizabeth I (39) and Little Foxes (41). So as effective as the Jane make-up was, Davis wasnt really doing anything "new".

    • @BELINDA_Lane

    Susan looks and reacts much like Davis. Jessica looks nothing like Joan to me. She is too heavy set, her walk is nothing like Joan's , her dress is nothing like Joan's and Joan wore her hair Auburn since the beginning of the 1950s through her death. She just isn't right for the part if you have watched Joan on game shows, tv, or her movies. She had such glamor and class in the way she walked, dressed and held herself.

  • @reenyreeny6406
    @reenyreeny6406 6 лет назад +3

    The movie is ok. The sets are the best thing about this movie, Jessica Lang looks like a middle-aged. Jean Simmons not Joan Crawford. Jessica. Lang does not capture the essence of Joan Crawford. like Faye Dunnaway. Susan Sarandon. resembles Bette Davis but, does. a disappointing portrayal of Bette Davis, I expected more from Susan.

    The hair design guy, keep him. The make lady,...DUMP HER ! Zeta-Jones was totally mis-cast. Judy Davis and Kathy Bates were perfect. Lang was superb as Joan but Sarandon blew it big time playing the great Bette Davis.
