Best actress ever and I like her more for doing this interview. She's such a phenomenally big star but she comes across as humble and not full of herself.
she is. she has attended several art events here in New Orleans, La. very very friendly. doesn't seem as if she's too enthused to autograph or take a selfie though. but, say hi, how are you? shake your hand. she'll do that. I would never ask a celebrity for an autograph or selfie. too much into there personal space or so I think.
I love her so much in a non creepy stalker fan way. Just love like from a distance with so much admiration and appreciation for her talent and beauty kind of way.
She comes across as an actress who loves the work way more than being famous. I think that what separates her from Meryl Streep, as Jessica is more reserve and doesn’t get political if it could take attention away from her work or the project she’s in.
I agree completely! She has that unmistakable open book quality. I like how she goes into talking about discouraging her grandchildren from seeing Francis. That movie was my least favorite because of the horrible psychiatric treatment she received as a result of a mother who herself suffered from a personality disorder.
Jessica is magnificent! That was her best role since AHS' Sister Jude. On par with Frances and Grey Gardens. Just like Joan, she seems a bit underrated, yet probably the best actress of her generation. She's always so mesmerizing.
@@carlomagno1196 thank you. I agree. Jessica would of been 100 times better in August Osage County. When I was watching that movie, I kept thinking this movie would have been tremendous with Jessica.
She is and will always be my favorite actress, my mom looks like her and so i was always drawn to her since i was little. I think she is so underrated as an actress. And still so beautiful! and classy, elegant and charming.
Joan Crawford was my favorite actress when I was growing up and I had the pleasure of meeting her in 1969. She was gracious, down to earth and very beautiful. Jessica Lange managed to capture these qualities and more in "Feud." I love her portrayal of Joan.P.S. Joan passed away 40 years ago today, May 10, 1977.
I was just a teenager at the time and she took my breath away. I can still see the dress she wore and was surprised that I was taller than her. She really embodied the word "Star."
Awwww, I am jealous too that you could meet Ms. Crawford, but I am also very and truly happy for you! Thank you for sharing your experience with us, it is exciting! And also very nice to read she was the way you wrote :-)
Gordon Hall: Agreed, I wish she looked more like her. What she managed to do was capture the 'essence' of Crawford which is so much more harder to do than an imitation.
Jessica Lange is one of my all time favorite actresses of all time! I really do miss her on AHS, but she can read the phone book and I would listen to her!
Nothing but admiration for Jessica Lange. Everything about her, from the sound of her speech to her natural beauty and graciousness and humility, is something to behold. And to be the better for it.
The best actress ever. I was hooked from Tootsie. love how her career goes from strength to strength. Of recent years I have to say Grey Gardens is one of my favourite movies of hers. I live in UK so haven't seen Feud yet. It's coming soon.
I didn't think anyone could replace Faye Dunaway as Joan Crawford in my mind, but Jessica managed to do it. Absolutely fantastic performance, you made me so emotional, my dear. Wonderful actress.
Dunaway did a campy interpretation of Crawford and it wasn’t very good acting. She pretty much admits it herself. It’s the fault of the director really though. Lange’s interpretation is brilliant and probably much closer to the real and tragic quality of Joan Crawford.I feel Lange was better at doing Crawford than Sarandon was at doing Davis. But Sarandon definitely looked a lot more like Davis than Lange looked like Crawford. I just don’t think Sarandon captured Davis’s particular and peculiar speech patterns and mannerisms. Whereas Lange really seems to have captured Joan’s speech and voice and style much better.
Therapist 84 my point is that both the series and Lange did Crawford justice. Up until this point most of the public looked at Joan as that crazy monster portrayed by Faye in Mommie Dearest and Feud shown us a fighter and a smart woman with a complicated past. Of course there's an exaggeration to amplify the drama but Lange was extraordinary in every way.
I love Jessica Lange. She has so many layers in her performances. I adored her in Tootsie, her vulnerability and kindness in that role. She captivated the screen and continues to. Feud was terrific. Two amazing actresses.
Feud made me feel sorry for Joan. The scene with adult daughter near the end had me in tears. But it almost made me dislike Bette. Her comment on Joan's death was heartless and cruel. Sadly it may well have not happened if not for men trying to create publicity
From what I can see in "Feud", I'd say Bette Davis only made that remark about Joan's death because that's the "role" she was playing in life. Earlier, we heard her tell "Victor Buono" that if she were heard saying anything nice about Joan that it would wipe out half her talk show appearances. On the surface it sounds cruel of her to say, but did you see the look on her face after she hung up on the reporter? She had this look on her face to say "My God, what the hell did I do? Why did I say that?" It appeared as if she was so trapped in this image of "I hate Joan Crawford", that she couldn't say what she really felt. Also, did you see her trying to call her when she heard she was ill, but then "chickened out" when she heard Joan's voice? I'e gone through that. There were people I considered reaching out to, and it was a good idea in theory, but I "chickened out" when push came to shove.
Jessica I have adored always her performances Sweet Dreams when she brought life to Patsy Cline was remarkable... she always brings an energy to every character.... just like she did with Joan.... okay loved it... I wish her all the best and BIG THANK YOU
What a sweet, fun interview. I loved EVERY aspect of FEUD and my fingers are crossed that EVERYONE gets a nomination. It's really tough to choose between Sarandon and Lange for best actor. However, if I HAD to choose one (what a Sophie's choice that would be) I would have to give it to Lange because she broke my heart playing Joan.
I hope Jessica Lange gets nominated but Susan Sarandon DOES NOT deserve a nomination. She was AWFUL as Bette Davis. Nothing like her at all. A pale, pale imitation. No fire or strength or anger like Bette had. I saw Bette Davis in person in 1974 in her "concert" appearance. They showed 1 hour of her movie clips then she came out and answered questions from the audience. It was great and a lifelong memory for me.
