Wunderbar getragen gespielt. Die Orgel singt - so muss es sein!

Yes beautifully played and I dare say a tempo that perhaps was the right one all along. It can work at faster tempi of course. That’s why we love Bach. The substance will shine through. Even questionably worked gold is still gold.

Thanks for giving it the time it deserves! There seem to be lots of videos of people zipping thru this piece.

Played beautifully and at the correct tempo - some others play it way too fast making it meaningless. A rough translation is 'All men are Mortal', so it is often played a funeral.

Bravo. You have the spirit of this song. Slow.

Yes. I agree completely that a slow, pensive tempo for this piece, esp given its title and meaning, is completely appropriate. But I've found an even slower tempo I think is fabulous, even compared to this one! Reply to this and I'lll try to cut and paste the link if you want it.

@@tomseeley7482 Hello. Thanks for kind response. I would be happy to hear to version you mentionned with even slower tempo, but please, keep it alive.

@@thomasdastillung4097 Here is the link to the youtube version of this marvelous piece. I really love the slow, pensive, meditative tempo he uses in the version I'm linking here. I especially love listening to it on my home stereo system in my new headphones, which block out all extra sound and let me concentrate only on the music. At the low C pedal tone about midway, I swear I can even FEEL it in the headphones! I hope you like this version as much as I do.

I've never seen it played on a single manual before - but seems to work veery well that way.

Ci si immerge e ci si lascia trasportare dal tempo dell'interpretazione e dall'organo!
