I have to say it. Prince was on a whole other level. He was a one man music factory. That's it. And he gave zero fukcs!!!

Love Prince, and yes, he kept on the grind, all the time, kept his own counsel on what his music should be

Please understand that Prince although he respected Jimi Hendrix. He always said he played more like SANTANA: By the way the Beatles were referred to him from Lisa and Wendy . That's why we got sounds from "Around the World in a Day". Prince wasn't a perfectionist according to his engineer. He was not always micromanaging the process. It was all about keeping the tempo. If you was to slow, Prince would get rid of you. The reason why we got an album like Purple Rain. Its because Prince had to slow down because of the process of filming the movie. Pince wasn't al about sex. He was emotional about the real life sensous part of the relationship. He didn't sing that much about sex after 1999. As went into the 2000s he chilled with that.
Quincy Jones was a brilliant and instinctive Producer. He would give you ear candy from his productions. With all his knowledge on orchestration and jazz connotations.
Rick Rubin was all about staying in the moment. We will create what we don't know and see where it goes.
Berry Gordy targeted an audience. The entrenched sound from Motown wasn't an accident. They found a formula and it worked for the masses.

OK yeah, I can see Prince being the kind of person who'd want to keep things moving in the studio
I'd say Hendrix had an influence on just about everybody from his era on, including Santana, but maybe I'll listen more closely for that Santana influence in Prince's playing now that you mention that
      thanks for watching!
